  1. Wow I havent heard of most of those. I guess they dont get hyped up about them like they used to, come to think of it the last puzzle game commercial I can remember is Intelligent Qube in 1997. I'll have to do a search on DP for some screen shots and reviews. The kids really like stuff that shoots, flies, or blows up(as do I) I just guess a good puzzle game cant hold up to that in the marketplace. Does the Gamecube have a lot of puzzles? I know Nintendo tends to be a little more inclusive to this sort of play.
  2. I play a lot of puzzle type games (Intelligent Qube and Tetris are my favorites) I was playing Loopz (NES) today, and realized these graphics are pretty dated but this game is still awesome. Do you folks agree that these puzzle games will retain their playability indefinately unlike so many other crap in a cart games? Anybody recomend any others? I already have: IQ, PS1 Tetris, NES/PS2 Loopz, NES Puzznic, NES Collums, Genny
  3. I've only had one sega cart that I couldnt get to work (a little more cleaning needed probably) I've been using Radioshack brand contact/control cleaner and lubricant (PN# 64-4351). It comes in an aresol can, and is non-flammable, safe on most plastic. I spray it in a little jar like baby food with the top covered and dip a swab in it to clean the contacts with. I like the wood cotton aplicator cause I can really scrub with the more rigid applicator. just a personal preferance.
  4. Good job Spud. Wish that pic was better though, but what do you expect a bunch of crushed garbage to look like. Meaby if there was something identifiable for a size comparison. I can see what might be a flatened cardboard box, but how big is that?
  5. Got my "Perfect Dark" with memory expansion in the mail today, both new in box for about $20 shipped. I've just started collecting for N64 recently, there are a lot of good used games for it around for good prices. There is a ton of new stuff on Ebay also. I was playing Goldeneye last week, tons of fun.
  6. I usualy play Russians or Vikings. I try to build all the wonders. I like exploring. My favorite is to make other empires my bitch by surrounding their cities with fortifications and massive armies and starve them to death over a few hundred years. My disk for this game broke a couple years ago so I havent played it in a while but I play Alpha Centauri and Call to Power. Are Civ3 and its expansions any good?
  7. I loved the "Theater of the Mind" Sega Saturn commercials. Any one know a link for that one?
  8. I wish I hadnt read that. You brought up a nightmare I had 12 years ago when I learned transistor theory. Now I have to get out all number of documentation and look it up to remember or it will bug me.
  9. Good little story, well written. Kind of gave me the willies, but screw it suckers deserve to have there money took.
  10. The bunker-buster is outstanting, BLAMMO!!
  11. Don't piss-off the russians to much or you'll loose your "Merchant of Menace" options. I only had this for a 5 day rental a coulpe weeks ago, but I think I'll pick it up again used in a few months when it gets a little cheaper. I dont know if it has a lot of replay value though, meaby starting a new game after completion and using some fun codes. I also like driving the trucks up into the mountains and seeing exactly where they can go.
  12. It reminds me a lot of GTA2, where you work for different factions, and the more you work for different groups the more certain ones will dislike you. Dont forget you dont care who the good guys are your just there to make some dough. When you start to aquire more aid drops, air strikes and artillery barrages it gets really fun. I wish you could cary more ammo though.
  13. Good thread, I've been playing N64 this week. I only have a few titles though. I almost forgot I had this system (got it at EB 6 months ago for $17.99) I've started rotating my systems every week or so lately, and realized I only had a few games for it so I picked up a few. I like the N64 carts over used PS1 games I think, it just seems like they are more likely to work properly. I see alot of N64 stuff around for good value, and have come to see the true value of owning this system. thanks for the good ideas on some good titles.
  14. You might try "Iron Storm" a PC title, while not an actual WWI title its storyline states its 1950 something and WWI never ended. So its WWI type stalemate/trench warfare with some higher tech wepons. I got this at Wal-Mart for like $10, but you need a 3D video card wich I dont have yet.
  15. Well I guess post traumatic stress disorder wouldnt be a very good name for a game. Battle fatigue wouldnt do either. So shellshock it is I guess.
  16. I'll play my PS2 nearly everyday (Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm, GTA SA lately), but since my console collection has grown lately I'll take one off the shelf every week or so and play that one when I take a break from the PS2. last week I was playing the Genesis (mostly Starflight), next week I thinking N64, or 3DO. I'm also thinking about putting my Atari jr with a few common dupes out in the garage since I spend a lot of time out there.
  17. Shellshock is a Vietnam FPS. And graphic as hell.
  18. My friend buys every one of these games, MOH, shellshock, call of duty, etc.. I told him this just came out and he left to go get it. I just borrow them from him when he gets done. He's a bit of a ludite so I have to help him on the harder levels. I like the idea of FPS squad based games like ghots recon that I cant put down till I crack the top 400 global leader board. does It have an online feature, or multi player mode?
  19. All you need now is the beanbag chair.
  20. Thats the one, I have an A/B/C because I dont have an AV cord for my Genesis. You might want to think about that incase you get another old system like coleco or intelvision.
  21. Get a A/B switch box. I have a RS A/B/C and it works great. Your interferance could be generated from a number of things TV, VCR, stereo, speakers, air conditioner, fridge etc... also if your cables are wrapped up with power cords and speaker wires you could get RFI/EMI. Just get the coax switch box, or do an AV mod.
  22. thats insane, but very cool. almost done with my modest mod.
  23. Boxing?? Are you sure? The version of that video (for "Triple Trouble") shows them playing PONG with Sasquatch. -PongHit Your probably right I think I'm getting it mixed up with another video, or something. Now that I think about it I think I saw just a boxing screen shot in some video, it wasnt a wide angle shot of somebody playing like the BB video . Its gona bug me that I cant remember where I saw it.
  24. Agreed, he would haved to pay me to take all those sporst games. But hey its only $10.
  25. I did see a video where they were kidnapped by a sasquatch, and taken back to his cave, where he cooked them food, they did areobics, and played Activision "Boxing" one of my favorite games.
