  1. I saw a tetris hand-held in wal-mart after christmas for $20. It was pretty cool it had a big screen (approx 2"x4") and worked pretty good through the holes in the package. I dont really have time for hand-helds though, meaby if I had a long bus/train commute.

  2. the sony person said they would waive the repair fee

Any indication why? Are they doing this for everyone who calls or just special cases?

Cause there aint no money in hardware. If your hardware dont work then you cant buy new software, wich is were the real money is. And there just keeping you happy wich is really cool. Couple that with free online play (mostly) and they will keep me as a customer.

  3. Thanks for the tips, I tried em and the POS still doesnt work for more than five minutes at a time, it is going in the dumpster come the morrow, I shall never pay for a front loading NES again, I will pay up to ten dollars for a top loader if in perfect shape or will accept working front loaders if they are free :x  :x  LONG LIVE THE VCS!!!!

Thats the spirit, I dont care who made the piece of crap, or if you gotta blow, fart, rub your belly, and pray to make the games work. I've tried new connectors (Just a bandaid for festering craphole wound). Fact is they suck. I dont have any other systems that I dont have to do anything more thant clean/swab the media, and simply dust out the inside of occasionaly if it has a fan. :x

  4. I rarely actually finish a game, I dont know why (A Freaudian yould love this shit) Alot of the time I'll get to the last item, boss fight, whatever, and put it down for a while. More like forever, or I'll see someone finish the game. Then its like "I already know what happens, so oh well...". Games like Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, FF7, and The Getaway, but I'll finish GTA games, and Tom Clancy games. Then theres the ones like True Crime and ManHunt, that I only play a few levels of. :?:

  5. Where are you guys buying these? I've never seen one.

I got mine at a local game store that sells all the old shit(way over priced) as well as the new stuff. I didnt ask where they got them. It was $53 after tax (7% in FL). I saw them on Ebay later that day, didnt look real hard at prices and shipping charges. I think I typed in "FC" to find them in video games. [/img]

  6. I baught one of these today, after getting fed up with my piece of shit toaster style. Only been playing tetris for and hour and havent tried any other games yet. this thing is tiny about the size of a Genny 3, and only weighs about the same as a NES cart. The controllers are tiny but more comfy than NES IMO. The power light lights-up blue (kinda cool). It does have an adaptor from FC-NES. The video image seems good, mono sound (normal), composite AV only, & I'll have to think up something for the gun hook-up. I'll try some more games, and post some pics later or tomorrow.

I think these are made for developing markets, and third world countries. Or just something to sell to those americans who will buy anything.

  7. Some of the garages are large enough to fit 2 cars and a bike, however I've gotten them stuck where I couldnt get the door open for a while.

I was thinking the other day of a wepon they should have included, "Yard Darts", and the vehicle I would also like to see would be a "Pogo Stick".

  8. I got one recently got one of these and it didnt work right of the bat, I had to push the upper pins down to get them to contact properly, no biggie. The seller I got from on Ebay (Callisto or game source or something like that) sent me the wrong item at first a nintendo AV cord, wich I needed anyway, so they just gave it to me for free. Then I had to call back 2 more times to get them to send me the right item, when I got it finaly it was an after market controller, I was a bout to call a bitch, then decided open the box and there it was inside next to the controller. So I got 2 free items and left neutral feedback. I did look at their feedback and they were super busy, with a few negs out of 1000's, some similar to my situation, wrong item, made it up with free item, and so on.

There's a NES site I found through DP I think that tells you how to rig up an old connector to work, wich I've tried with moderate success. You just pushbend the pins back into place, try this with an old one while you wait for the new one to arive. I got mine to work as long as I didnt want to change games alot.

  9. Picked this up friday at EB with a gift card, How did I overlook this one? I think its cause my game mag subscription ran up. What a great game, its a bit of a throwback, not in concept or graphics but in game play, simple to play, challenging and fun even if you dont win. And what a bargain.

  10. Infogrames cant be making that much money, EA hasnt bought them out yet. :D

These flashback games are probably pretty cheap to make too, they didnt have to come up with any thing new. The're just riding the nostalgia/retro gaming wave. I personaly hope they never make a new console, because all the cart prices would go up due to increased demand, if it were reverse compatible.
