  1. Ink on paper here. A graph paper notebook makes for easy columns. I'll be hitting 300 stella carts soon so i'll migrate this to some sort of DB. I kinda like paper though for writing quick notes and using different inks for highlights and stuff.
  2. Good job on the ceiling. All the posters really make it extra choice.
  3. I really like the label guide at 2600 connection. http://www.2600connection.com/faq/vcs_label_variations/vcs_label_variations.html#matte
  4. Was one of them a Pitfall II? I've heard they were not made very well.
  5. Look around the market is still saturated with Atari consoles from thirty years ago.
  6. Dead carts are not very common. dirty carts are very common.
  7. Pretty sure you can't test a cap like that. Taking a voltage reading in an active circuit will only let you know that "Something" has changed in that leg. I feel if the TIA was faulty there would not be picture displayed. You could de-soldier the caps and switch them and see if the problem moves to the other side. But if you're gonna remove them may as well replace it.
  8. I find Space Invaders pretty hard. Easy concept hard to master. Porky's is pretty fun and difficult a the same time.
  9. Clean the contacts with alcohol or contact cleaner. or Defender is pretty common just get another one.
  10. A friend of mine played with his grandma and told me that it was real fun. Easy to learn but difficult to master. Not a player here though.
  11. I unloaded aLOT over the past few years. I'm now focused on the 2600 alone. I haven't gone totally monogamous though I really like some Genny games and a few NES titles so I've got some of that around. But I've gotten my collection down from several large bins in the closet to a few smaller clear bins on a shelf above a gaming TV. When I see something like a 3DO or a 7800 at a game shop or flea market I just share my experience and knowledge with the sometimes less knowledgeable seller and make a new friend/contact. I usually say something like "I had one of those... they're alright... watch out for.... hey do you got any? cha ching" My collection is now about collecting contacts and hunting the wilds. I've been to flea markets in four different states over the past month, mostly struck out but it beat sitting at home.
  12. Smash TV was nearly impossible so stay away. Then there's the Master System adapter, so any Master System title is a possibility.
  13. Scored from the Pendergrass indoor flea market in NE Georgia. They only had one or two game shops, but the Asian guy I scored these from was real nice after I chatted him up a little. Nearly all his games had nice labels. In fact seven of these were replacements for games with inferior labels. He wasn't very realistic about the complete system prices like a jr. with a dozen games for $100, but these were only $3 each. He also had a 4 switch woody with box & a boxed 5200. Holy crap! did he have a butt load of Nintendo stuff.
  14. 1/8" is a size not a function. The DVD player in our van has them with four contacts. The tip, two rings and the sleeve. TRS is a term they are often refered to, Tip Ring Sleeve. A manufacturer could use them for anything theoretically.
  15. I got one at a thrift store for $6 a few weeks ago. Of course some thrifts are better stocked or priced than others.
  16. If you got the space for them why not. I don't think I could keep up with them.
  17. I really should start emulating again to play some of these PAL titles.
