I did my first inventory in a long time this week and came up with 159 titles and variations. I've passed on lots of games recently in fear of paying for duplicates. I assume that I'm gonna pay a little higher from the flea market sellers, but if I can do a little to help keep their stores open some golden nuggets will show up sooner or latter. My list boosted my confidence today and I scored 10 new games and a replacement with a really nice label. I passed on a few that had crap labels. My goal is 200 by the end of the year. The Mobile Alabama flea market has 5 or 6 game sellers and they all had Atari even saw a Jag. The day started by checking out a new market in Mississippi which was a strike out, but hitting Mobile on the way back was worth it. Visiting Atlanta next week and crossing my fingers for some good stuff.

I don't know how two player games work on a keyboard, but Activision Boxing is always a must around here. After a few punches to the face get ready it will be game on. Best thing is one can win their first time.

Keep plugin away at it. I didn't see any thing for a couple years, then really got some nice stuff over the last three or four years. I almost never pass up a nice looking Activision to replace a crappy label that's surely in the collection. I've really started hitting the thrifts and fleas more frequently and networking with area sellers.

There was a member a while back who mentioned putting his disassembled stella case halves in the dishwasher. -

No the towels gave him a little protection from the smoke, probably more protection than he got in the smokey bars he performed in. I just mentioned smoking in addition to dust. -

A friend of mine who plays keyboard does this. I haven't seen him in a while but he did this with everything, towels everywhere but his shit always worked. He also smoked. Very cheap and nice to grab if you have a spill somewhere. -

The whole good or not thing is kinda relative. There are entire genres of games that I think suck balls. It is still a must have for any 2600 collector. The musical title screen is cool enough. -

I remember reading an article within the last 10 years where a guy was running his scrap metal or auto salvage business on a C64 or Apple II. He was a "if it ain't broke" kinda guy. found him http://www.pcworld.com/article/249951/if_it_aint_broke_dont_fix_it_ancient_computers_in_use_today.html?page=3 -
Here's a funny into video to Blade Force that I always thought was amusing. I love the names they gave the villains.

The best games are easy to learn and difficult to master.

Are you a LEFT -or- RIGHT handed joystick user.
Cobra Commander replied to Omega-TI's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
Over the years I discovered I do some things better left, like bowling, fishing, skateboarding and I prefer a left handed or ambi trackball. I write, throw and wipe by backside with my right, so I'm claiming righty. As far as joysticks I've always used them righty because most are set up that way. However my favorite game is Smash TV which is two joysticks? I've always hated joysticks for consoles in favor of pads mostly for comfort. I gonna try to use them lefty sometime. -
I really like component video on a CRT. I passed on as Trinitron display last year, kicking myself for it now. It was at a warehouse fundraiser sale for a local hospital. It was around 20" and had every input and output I can think of. Most of the medical imaging displays are monochromatic, but this caught my eye being a Sony Trinitron.
