Those are some big numbers!

Keep plugin away at it. I didn't see any thing for a couple years, then really got some nice stuff over the last three or four years. I almost never pass up a nice looking Activision to replace a crappy label that's surely in the collection. I've really started hitting the thrifts and fleas more frequently and networking with area sellers.

Why not just disable the lockout chip on a toaster?

Great video! Your accent is great, your English is great, the jokes were great, loved it.

I got that; it was more of a general comment. I've bought used 2600 cartridges that got the Armor All treatment, and handling them was almost like handling a wet bar of soap. I usually limit myself to soap and water, maybe Windex and/or Goo Gone for surface cleaning, compressed air for clearing internal dust and large particulates on the surface, and Isopropyl alcohol for cleaning contacts and card edges.
As #14 said, vintage systems seem to hold up to abuse better than their more modern counterparts. The cases are usually designed with rough textured surfaces or faux woodgrain patterns, both of which help to obscure mild scratches and dust contamination better than the shiny black or silver-painted smooth plastic that seems to be popular today. The biggest problem with textured plastic is that it's harder to clean it of ground-in dirt and grime, but this can usually be remedied with a toothbrush, a long soak in warm soapy water, and judicious use of a mild solvent like Goo Gone.
There was a member a while back who mentioned putting his disassembled stella case halves in the dishwasher.

I'm pretty sure smoking around electronics and consoles/games is not the right way to clean or maintain them. Just guessing, though, I could be wrong.
No the towels gave him a little protection from the smoke, probably more protection than he got in the smokey bars he performed in. I just mentioned smoking in addition to dust.

Also, it's not classy looking, but I keep hand towels laid over my systems when I am not using them for long time, a cheap alternative to dust covers.
A friend of mine who plays keyboard does this. I haven't seen him in a while but he did this with everything, towels everywhere but his shit always worked. He also smoked. Very cheap and nice to grab if you have a spill somewhere.

Never understood the appeal of Armor All on consoles and computers. It just makes them feel oily and slippery, and it also attracts dust.
I wasn't serious. I'm a mild soapy water guy maybe alcohol from time to time.

Lots of Armour All on everything!
Sorry couldn't resist.

Where'd Cobra Commander go? I bet he's a pretty good inspirational speaker.
Been in the lab working on a Cobra Strike antidote for overdoses.

i heard this game sucked balls, glad to finally get a consensus, thx
The whole good or not thing is kinda relative. There are entire genres of games that I think suck balls. It is still a must have for any 2600 collector. The musical title screen is cool enough.

If you are going to spam the forum with 1 liners, why not make them Cobraaa!!! themed one liners?
"Without my money and organization, you'd be out in the
rain watching your face rust!""Without my money and organization, you'd be out in the desert watching ET try to phone home"
I think it's against the rules to try and sell my Cobra brand Viagra here.

I remember reading an article within the last 10 years where a guy was running his scrap metal or auto salvage business on a C64 or Apple II. He was a "if it ain't broke" kinda guy.

Here's a funny into video to Blade Force that I always thought was amusing. I love the names they gave the villains.

The best games are easy to learn and difficult to master.

The floppy drive I buy for it may cost more than the purchase price.

Over the years I discovered I do some things better left, like bowling, fishing, skateboarding and I prefer a left handed or ambi trackball. I write, throw and wipe by backside with my right, so I'm claiming righty. As far as joysticks I've always used them righty because most are set up that way. However my favorite game is Smash TV which is two joysticks? I've always hated joysticks for consoles in favor of pads mostly for comfort. I gonna try to use them lefty sometime.

I really like component video on a CRT. I passed on as Trinitron display last year, kicking myself for it now. It was at a warehouse fundraiser sale for a local hospital. It was around 20" and had every input and output I can think of. Most of the medical imaging displays are monochromatic, but this caught my eye being a Sony Trinitron.

Atari is better. This is common sense.

Wasn't liking what the RF looked like. S video or RGB sound a lot better when I get some time.

I don't know how two player games work on a keyboard, but Activision Boxing is always a must around here. After a few punches to the face get ready it will be game on. Best thing is one can win their first time.
