Did you write the original book
-
you had to get a shot of an apple product didn't you, I guess you were playing with it while you were eating your home made cookies
-
seeming as though you also cover C64 and miggy, you could also mention capcoms games they did with USG (USGold) under the JV known as the 'GO' label (if you remember that far back)
-
Looks good, how about doing better 'rainbows' using some of those software based hardware tricks (i think you know the ones i mean) to getting more colours (i.e over 256)
Just OOI, is there any pot of gold at the end of your 'rainbows'
-
Did you say you needed 'ARM' help, I have 2 arms if you need one (but me thinks you mean the arm as in 'ACORN RISC MACHINES')...nice processor, designed by the same 'woman' who also designed the original Acorn and BBC computers
-
sounds like you snagged a good score there, perhaps you have taken over from aftermac's mantal as AA's Mr Apple collector
-
Can't you use a better pc gfx editor, i don't remember c64 games being that horribly pixellated (speccy/amstrad stuff maybe but not c64)
I seem to remember that most uk published 'official' coin op conversions for the c64 were okies to good (with the possible exception of outrun)
-
you need to get some more memory (like 320k) and get a PAL mod (so you can run some of the better Euro demo's like numen etc)
Nice score, what kind of DD was it (1050 or 810)
-
You mention the jaguar but you don't mention what gamesOr are you talking about games that aren't released yetDid try a little jaggie emulation recently, gave up on it when i remembered that later versions of VJ insist on using opengl mode and not old style rendering
-
looks as crappily bad as the original Outrun (best stick with the amiga version) or play electraglide/Pole Position instead
-
You seem to have very interesting and varied gaming tastes there cybergoth, now nintendo and previously amiga/comm 64 (and i believe you even played a sega game once)
Nothing wrong with that though, sharpens your gaming skills a bit
Any chance you could do an atari game play (pref. A8)
-
Opps, I meant standard as in a stock A8 (i.e not VBXE-ified)
-
You like rainbows then...nice looking DLI
Is that standard or VBXE-ified
-
looks good pseudografx, If i could understand your description ofcourse
keep up the good work though
-
sounds like you've been busy then, well done wickey
Just hasd a idea for a remake you could do (in homage to a certain disgusting hamburger you were pictured with)
Mega mania 2....hamburgers revenge

is that a classic shoot em up sauron, sort of looks like a scrolly version of neptunes daughters (a8) re:second pic
-
forget modern tat LF, classic games is where it's at, lure him (your friend) to the right side of the force
-
Emulation is good for the soul......as is any sort of gaming
-
You need to ressurect your ATARI's Sauron....BADLYBut there's nowt wrong with emulators SAuron, you just gotta play the right one's (like one's that actually have something resembling accurate emulation of the hardware etc, which as you know is something a certain gaming system beginning with J doesn't have yet)
-
you need to route your running activities to more car boot sales/garage sales phaxda...but this time take a bit more lolly with you
-
And long may it continue...just keep the faith and keep atari hummy, that more then anything should keep you sane
-
I remember that game, played it in a shop display in stevenage (early 80's) not a bad game if i say so myself....I have seen a couple of A8 variants of that game that were pretty decent, namely the original 'attack of the mutant camels' and rebel probe i think (might have been called something else (but it did have the same game theme as your blog game LF)

I think there will always be a market for traditional solitaire and 2 player games (i.e 2 player, not multiplayer)
It will probably follow the same market as per the various emulation/roms sites (i.e, you will have lots of sites where you will be able to download non hacked/cracked modern games and well as classic games) using the itunes concept (i.e paid for downloads)
Also, there will also be a market for non online (offline) distribultion of gaming content (i.e actual physical product you hold in your hands, not just some file or group of files held on a hard disk)
The success of online distribultion of games largely depends whether the game has longetivity and is interesting enough to play, unfortunately online gaming seems to be having the same issues as per traditional boxed product, namely that developers/publishers are shovelling out just another variant of this game/genre or that game/genre and that isn't so interesting for consumers
The other issue with must online games is that they rely on too much cut scenes/fmv/movies to fill game content, i.e you seem to be immersed more into the inbuilt movie/streaming video then you actually get to play anything of the game (sort of reminds me of those asian/japanese RPG's for the GBA, namely that your subjected to about 30 minutes of game intro (if you can understand the japanese/chinese text) before you are actually allowed to partake in the game (anywhere from 5 seconds to two minutes) and then the process repeats itself)

Quick Q....Wasn't the original super mario game done by an outside developer or software house
I wouldn't call the tomb raider series 'platformers', more 'action adventures'
You missed of Donkey Kong (which spawned the mario bros series) and also Miner 2049r (which was the first platformer programmed for games machines/computers not based on an arcade/coin op game)
Interesting thing is that Miner 2049r is basically a re-engineered Pacman game
