Brits designed the Jaguar, and Brits wrote some of the best games too.JustClaws. 903758 We also designed the Sam Coupe (which somehow morphed into the panther/jaguar)as it was built/designed by the same 'flare 1' team You could also say that we also invented 'nuclear fusion' thanks to lord ruthland and 'splitting the atom' (the principles of nuclear technology)

Latest Atari 8-bit things you bought on ebay.
carmel_andrews replied to Ross PK's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The XC11 was mainly marketed in Europe (including the UK) but also saw limited availability in the US, and appeared on US dealer price lists for a short time. It was styled to complement the XE-series computers, and looked more like an ordinary cassette recorder of the time than did the XC12. Like the XC12, it was powered from the SIO port of the computer, but unlike the XC12, as well as the SIO cable, it also had an additional SIO port. 903686 Correctomundo... If only mine hadn't died on me, i'd still be using them and my hoard of Atari tape games now! -
Mark/Wrathchild me thinks you have a 'virus' in your PC and it's affecting atari800win/win+ i am running this emu under winxp pro/corp (with built in sp2) and don't have this prob.. try dousing your emu 'exe' with an anti virus proggie or your pc with the same proggie Does W2k have a 'system restore' feature, if so, re zip the original exe you d/l'd, transfer that file to a floppy or second h/d then, using w2k's system restore, restore the system the a time previous to your installation of atari800win+ (this version) once the sys. has been restored, and your bk in windoze, firstly douse the pc with the anti virus proggie, then unzip the orig. exe that you d/l'd but dont execute and douse the exe and other files in that directory with the same anti virus proggie IF on Winxp... just do the same (doesn't bear repeating) your problem (should) be cured, unless youv'e got a sticky keyboard/dodgy keynboard/broken keyboard

XC12's and their cousins XC11's are commonplace in the UK (I used to own an xc12 and 2 xc11s) Attn 'Wrathchild'... how's about giving us an a8 conv. of io or denaris or rtype and lastly 'Turrican' -
I've got the 32in1 OS upgrade and it simply rocks! (like all of Steve's products) Highly recommended 902870 902914 I don't quite understand the various XL/xe o's and what they are (on the illustration)

I remember that dataque/chuck steinmann was planning a series of xl/xe systems in pc desktop/tower configs using what was then the new PCI slots and also isa/eisa slots like they are used on a pc and some how adapt the then available pci/isa/eisa cards to the new atari platform under a new modified o/s running on the new '816' processor upgrade that steinmann had originated, he was going to call it the 16xx series (xl and/or xe)

not THE John Harris, ex Atari employee and 'Jawbreaker' fame what was he still doing on the A8, that far down the line 902273 He did that for his character generator system. I believe he brought it to at least one of the CG Expos. I got a good look at it when I interviewed him for Stella at 20. A nice pizza-box style case with 3.5" floppies. That one didn't go to 14mhz because the chips weren't clocked that fast back then. I think it was like 3 or 7 mhz or something. John also wrote the MAE assembler that works for both 6502 and 65816. That's what is referenced in the webpage for the 14mhz thing. John also came up with the GED image format for the 8-bit that changes color registers in mid-scanline. 902282 GED... is that a similar idea to APAC or HIP

Rochester , Kent United Kingdom is a small distance from Missouri, USA. Your best bet woudl be a flight from Atlanta (nearest air hub?) to Gatwick... It would be real nice to see y'all Nick 902227 it'll be interesting seeing some jaggie friends from the US and any goodies they can bring with them

Never seen or heard of a rev c basic cart. i do remember to that only a v. few xl's have rev. c in them as rev. C was mainly used in the xe's, i did hear rumours of rev. d basic (don't know if it was true)
-
Rev. A was v. buggy and Rev B was just buggy (B for bugs), rev C corrected all the rev a/b bugs (xe only unless you've got a rev c bas cart)
-
Yes... but based on the 'SIO' design

Of course it is possible. But it is not needed, at least not for a stock Atari drive. A stock C64 drive is customizable, a stock Atari one is not. You'd only need a full drive CPU emulation for emulating enhanced drives like Happy, Speed, etc. And only for special software that customizes the drive uploading their own code to the drive (and even then, it is not always needed). Doing this would be quite a task. One of the reasons is that different enhancements have different CPU variants (6507,6502, 65C02). And some enhancements have no 6502 compatible CPU at all. 900225 Isn't that what the happy portion of atari++ emulator is doing emulation of happy upgraded 1050 or happy sio CPU emulation is easy, what you need to emulate is the FDC, floppy disk controller, that is what i think you mean, as Atari sio emulation does'nt require full WDC FDC emulation, just like happy, lazer, speedy, super speedy, sa/2 and isplate all uses specialized/ mod'd FDC's... once we've cracked that we've got a complete emu of the a8 Perhaps that's another JOB for JASKIER in his next BETA version... full emu of atari's WDC FDC

but just to refresh my mem. atari800win/win+ doesn't support hooking up a proper a8 drive to the emulator like atari++ can Addit. i seem to remember that the c64 emu 'vice' does support the emulation of a c64 drive's CPU, i don't know why the 2 teams (vice and a800win/win+) don't combine their efforts and emulate the proc. of an atari drive, since 'vice' proves it's possible there's me bitching again...

Someone mentioned a 7800 without a 'side port'... that must be the 'tramiel version' 7800, i remember hearing that the warners version had the 'side port' which was shaped like an SIO port (from the a8), aparently atari intended that you could use all the a8 sio dev's. with the 7800 (tramiel re designed it in 1986)

Are there any ST cartridges?
carmel_andrews replied to kevin242's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Seem to remember though that the ST Multiface had a thingy which plugged into the monitor port?? 900159 Quite right, so that you could take snapshots of game screens etc .. on the fly (like photographs) -
Strange... i thought that atari++ emulated upto 4 drives (or am i playing the wrong atari++) additionally, apart from the various 'pc xformers' the only other emulator that i 've seen that allows you to use pucka atari 1050's etc with an emulator is the atari++ (i guess that's why it also emualtes the happy)

I believe that Bo schreurs did a few 'atr tools' when compiling/putting together the Atari pool disk/disc CD, i cant remember the website address
-
I thinx that emu russia might have roms for intellivision, as for emulation try zophars domain if your going thru, emu russia, click on the 'english version' option (upper right side of the page)

I had a dream that i owned 2 working modd'd 1050's, and also a 1450 xld (fully functioning and working and UK PAL compatible)

With all this 'jaggie bashing' going on, there must be a heck of a lot of non working or broken jaggies out there... big business for those into repairs, spares or parts (except those jaggies that are a 'write off')
