  1. the company that kheller2 is looking for is chuck steinmann c/o dataque, they were also responsible of the original stereo pokey u/g (GUMBY) I never saw their 'turbo 816' u/g even though BAPAUG were the UK importers FTE, CSS and bob wolley also did their own implements of turbo 816
  2. I am interested to know what bank switching protocols that atari800win/win+ emu’s use, is it xl bank switching or xe bank switching, I know it uses the same location (d301) but the bit assignments are different for xl and xe from what I remember Also does the atari800win/win+ emu’s use the Atari protocols fo xl/xe bank switching (whichever one it uses) or does it favour the non standard bank switching techniques used/employed by polish/European demo codes and programmers is there a way of testing the software that uses bank switching techniques to see if it employs xl or xe bank switching
  3. just d/l'd it, will have a butchers later...i'll shove a dozen ATR's thru it and see how it handles QUESTION TO JASKIER (and please reply), i seem to remember that atari++ (which uses the same engine as your emu) also emulates 815 and happy drives why don't you include a secondary rom option for emulation of other atari drives like SA2, happy, ISplate, duplcator, 815, xf551 etc etc And also to support the black box roms all these roms can be found on atari.art.pl
  4. i'll only be there to swipe or half inch some atari gear (mainly a8) and look at the jaggie scene as well.. could be int...
  5. does anyone have a 'comprehensive list' of what ATR's or XEX's work on atari800win/win+ and what doesn't as well as the various configurations/settings that work best of ea. ATR/XEX etc, as i've come across some atr's and xex's that definately don't work on the above emu's in any settings (can't remember which atr/xex's files they were)
  6. and of course the ST version of multiface (apparently doesn't work with the STE) Ultimate ripper cartridge (similar to multiface) LLS and TCB explorer (similar in concept to Ultimate ripper) When i had an ST i did have (briefly) a multiface cart
  7. Really mainly looking for dd's (1050 mainly) and any uncommon titbits, might look at the jaggies (as an 'emulation' platform) so if anyones got a cd disk full of jag game images at the show, def interested But firstly, lets make sure that i've got readies to blow and also that AL QAEDA is'nt going to start bombing the railways (so i can get there and bk in one piece) i am trusting that there's gonna be more then 1 seller/retailer there, otherwise it's gonna be a bit of a damp squib... i like a bit of variety, some choice you know

  9. when are you going to do a FINAL version
  10. can't see why not... have to make sure i've got some readies with me... so as to buying some of the LOVERLY a8 gear
  11. hello stephen... sorry mate, i meant 20 pounds return (as in there and back), but that's not including getting to victoria or charings x (which ever one goes to rochester... cant remember which one) and also getting from rochester station to the venue, and of course getting in (i'm guessing/assuming that there's an entrance fee) and ofcourse something to eat mid day For A8- as in atari 8bit (400/800/xl/xe and 5200)
  12. Silly question i know but will there by anyone selling atari gear other then JAG (like a8 for instance) Might be willing to train it from the smoke but as it gonna cost at least 20 both ways, i won't to be making sure that i'm spending as much or more when i get there (wasn't so much into the jag, even though i used to own one) Go on.... shoot me
  13. Hello plastron... today MIGHT be your lucky day, I have both plaston and heartbreak, the plastron tape holder is slightly damaged and heartbreak isn't in original case but both are original tapes I also have mac 65 cart (original orangey labels with black writing) and manual (no box) i bought this from silica years ago for 70 GBP (in the time before frontier s/w and marpet developments)
  14. Never owned a duplicator (heard about it) owned both a happy 1050, lazer/usd 1050 and a speedy 1050 and lastly an SA2 1050, SA2 1050 and speedy and happy/ lazer were all pretty similar with similar capabilites, although speedy 1050 had better upgrade options There was another option which was I S Plate 1050, supposedly emulated all previous upgrades though o/s patches, in the UK chips/data direct (worthing) used to import it
  15. You can only use certain types of Atr's with Atari dos, not the commercial games Atr's that proliferate the internet
  16. Ah... St Albans, Veralium, nice beautiful town, i know it reasonably well (i had known somone that lived there years ago, when i lived in stevenage) now i'm back in london (central london) and too close to call if you know my meaning
  17. Yeah, DIP created and released the Portfolio in Europe; Atari was basically the North American distributor under their own brand. Mostly though I'm interested in things like the memory expansion module, and possibly third party memory cards larger than 128k. Funny thing is, certain older models of Roland keyboards used the very same memory cards, but I don't think even they made anything larger than 128k. 895759[/snapback] Let the internet/D I P do your search for you, i'm sure that either the internet or D I P and help and also get you the bit's and pieces you need to ressurect your portfolio, or know someone that does (Atari didn't go great gun's... they did SFA with the portfolio as they did nothing for it, even the stuff that was done under the Atari name was made by and distrib'd by DIP not Atari from what i was told)
  18. De Lorean Car's... Weren't they made in Northern Ireland, funded by a UK and Local government grant, and Audited by, and wait for it...ARTHUR ANDERSEN (come back enron worldcomm, parmalat, all is forgiven... oh no forget parmalat that was deliotte's doings). And lastly run by an AMERICAN (who screwed the british governemt big time... which is why Andersens were in the Governement's banned list for so long) not that i want to rake over old bones I wonder IF MJF ever managed to get the car working in BTTF parts 1/2 and 3 (it won't start.. please see the post on ...time travel) Here's a play on 'my things' better etc etc then 'your thing' Steve Backley to Jan Zelezny...' nah nah nah nah nah, My javelins longer then yours' London Motorist to Michael 'smuckface' schumacher 'give me 20 years going up and down the A501 (both sides/full lenght) and i'll beat you to pole by .1 of a second That Yank that recently reduced the 100 mtr. record to sub 9.75 region...'Perhaps if i gave Carl lewis a walking stick, give him 20 years and he would have beatenme to the tape by .1 of of a second Tiger woods and Golf's 10th major victory... Tell you what Jack, I'll play with a patch over me good eye, with one arm behind my back and using only a 1 wood and a putter as my clubs for ever major championship until i'm 30 and i'll still beat you by 2' lance armstrong and the tour de france...'I've just sent an invitation to Tanni grey-thompson to appear as my stand in should i have any mis haps between now and paris... as tanni is pretty usefull on TWO Wheels' (or was it 4)
  19. Now you know why i avoid ebay like the plague, it only encourages people like him... best place to find collections/collectables is Car booters (car boot sales) from what i was told, after they closed down the one in Hackney wick (where the sunday market was) i've been at a loss to find a decent car boot sale or failing that A CAR BOOT SALE in London (central or inner) BTW mindfield re:atari portfolio, i don't know if they're still with us but, do an internet search for D.I.P (A British company, they did all the R & D and also designed the Atari portfolio and also did their own version of the portfolio but under their own banner... dunno what they called it... if you find D.I.P, they and/or ex workers might be able to point you in the right direction
  20. am i stupid or does 'bashing' a jaguar usually end up with the jaguar owner with a 'bashed up' non working jaguar... I thought that these 'my thing is better/longer/snazzier then your thing' arguments was consigned to the school playground (bearing in mind i left secondary sch. over half a lifetime ago), i was under the illusion that these atari related forums were oriented towards an ADULT audience... c'mon guy's and gal's we're better then this
  21. i love a good fight... me, you outside NOW Anyway re: shaken baby syndome and miss-carridges of justice as well as the Prof. Meadows Missleading expert witness evidence is bound to happen in any judiciary, uk/US etc etc Your just trying to rub my nose in it now that wales has it's own devolved parliament with limited tax raising powers (i suppose next time you'll want your own separate judiciary/criminal justice system etc etc..) Perhaps if we could get the R.A.F/Army to start using wales for bombing practice, wales might be UK's version of California (i.e drifting alone somewhere off of the english channel/Irish sea sometime within the next 50 years) Re- Cartridges for Loopz thing, Wrathchild or 'classics' might be able to point you in the right direction Addictive... i don't know, i've not played it yet...if it's anything like illegal substances that i won't mention, you'll have to unglue me 1st (as in industrial strenght bostick/superglue)
  22. Just to let you know, more london bombings Warren Street (Euston end of TCR) tube Kennigton Oval (nr surrey c.c cricket ground) tube hackney Road (another double decker bus i guess) bus And lastly Shepherds bush (near bbc h/q) tube I'm still here... just about
  23. Guten amt Andreas is there a prize of the best software and hardware 'idea', especially from us non coders/hardware hackers, as you must appreicate that some of us a8 lubbies aren't as proficient in those areas like you and your lot at abbuc obviously are My hardware idea is a redesigned combo amie/pokey chip but in 1 IC and stereo capab's as well Alternatively a redesigned 65816 upgrade with bigger address/data bus and more instructions and semi compat. with atarixl/e or 800 o/s and also it's own o/s and sep i/o subsystem compat. with usb storage ide/sata and scsi storage devs. (to compare with 64bit ppc/athlon64 etc) Another hardware idea would be a combo Anitc/GTia with Maria in one IC, with additional logic to handling higher colour range, high rez gfx and polygons etc, vertical DL's like the STE, assign it some of it's own ram (for DLI processing which means you can have more ellaborate and intricate DLI happening and none of the current limitations, and also 2600/7800 compatibility so to using an a8 to program the 2600 and 7800 and playing 2600/7800 games/homebrews on an a8 Software wise A redesigned Mac 65 on cart (with built in dos) and compat with '816 u/g's, incl. compilation and production of '8165 codes/instructions, and replace DDT with an updated version of ultimon (but with built in calculator mode, like omnimon) A redesigned mydos (forget spartados... cant stand it) to handle h/ds and parts. over 1gig (per part) and does away with the 9 devices limitation, also to handle CD and DVD writers An updated version of Star Raiders (based on SR1 gameplay, not SR2) with added 2 player or network game ability, similar to the verison that either mattel or coleco were going to put out on their gaming system (but didn't get round to it)
  24. Idea to original postee/poster... why don't you send a 'grovel letter' to Mr. atarihistory.com himself... just make sure you GROVEL to him nicely, i'm sure his got one going spare somwhere (the rate he's been going on about them sounds to me like he's manuf'g some himself... with the aid of some ex atarians insider knowledge)
  25. i remember years ago when i was a memeber of a london AUG, i was at a memebers house rummaging thru his atari collection(s) (mostly A8 stuff) I do remember though he did have an original 2600 'woody', however his PSU (same one they use for all a8 i/o dev's) had an' ingersoll' sticker on it (not an atari one), now i do know that ingersoll used to import, along with cherry leisure, SDL/Sillica and mapplins, early Atari products So the question being, was it common for all original 2600 'woodies' to be sold with the ingersoll psu or the normal atari one Or did he have a 'rare beast' :!: :!:
