Looks interesting, sort of like tron bought to life (i.e a videogame in the real world)
Now, if they could do that with star raiders or asteroids/breakout that would be well brilliant

I think the problem is that Sony and M$$$$ are making the same big mistake Atari made (i.e. thinking that they 'know/Knew' the market they are active in (i.e videogaming)
And like Atari discovered back then (with the 1983/4 crash) which they never quite recovered from and Sony and M$$$$ are discovering now....NO ONE KNOWS THE MARKET
Sony and M$$$$ dropped the ball big time by being to restrictive on 3rd party software development on their respective platforms, i'll admit to a certain extent it is also affecting both Nintendo and also Apple
After all, why do you think that andriod mobiles/tablets are gaining the upper hand in the mobile/tablet market, why do you think that mobiles and tablets are getting better support for games then the likes of the nintendo, sony or M$ platforms
Simply because, Andriod platforms is open source, therefore anyone is free to develop programs and software for that platform, which in turn means you're not restricted in what type and kind of application you develop for android and also not restricted as to what sort and quality of content is developed or released on that platform
The problem that sony and M$ have is that their restrictive policies on 3rd party software development are basically handicapping if not harming their platforms chances in the wider market, essentially what sony and ms are doing is no different to how Atari got their system supported before the crash of 1983, i.e. if you want to support our platform you have to pay us a percentage for each unit you sell that works on our platform
That system simply doesn't work anymore, the internet/web has basically seen to that as has android and linux based systems, the software market (both games and non games) is fast moving to more 'homebrew' and independent developers/publishers and unless the likes of MS, Sony as well as Apple/Nintendo and their software supporters realise this and move with the times, not only will they get left behind, their platforms will be as relegated to the dustbin of gaming history as the likes of the Atari's and the commodores, and the Coleco's and the SEGAs of the world have
Some points here
A....given current economic situation, why would someone buy a desktop gaming system (new one, like a ps4 or xb720) for 2-400 pound, when they can get a almost free mobile phone or tablet pc just for signing up for regular monthly calls or data use and that that mobile phone or tablet pc can play essentially the same type and quality of game that you get on the desktop platforms
B- again, given the current economic situation, why would someone want to buy a 30-40 pound 'AAA rated' game on a desktop platform when they can get that same quality or type of game (which similar hardware features) for a lot less on a mobile phone or tablet pc (or in some cases 'free')
C- Why would a homebrewer or independent publisher/developer want to side with someone like MS, Apple, Nintendo, Sony etc and their restrictions on 3rd party software development and not forgetting...having to PAY to develop software for those platforms and also give those companies that manufacture those platforms a percentage of each unit of any game available on that platforms that is sold, when you don't have any of those restrictions with android, you pay nothing to whoever owns android and you keep all the money you make on selling your andriod compatible software
Perhaps the likes of Sony, MS etc still think that they will still sell a zillion new ps4s or xb720's....perhaps the big boy publishers still think that their 'AAA' rated desktop gaming platform game(s) will sell in the same quantity as they have in the past
Both absolutely wrong, why do you think the Wii U is selling so badly, the market is changing, the market is fast evolving and unless these big boy publishers and hardware makers adapt to the new market, they will die like the dinosaurs did

I only mentioned the calculator mode since it would make things easier to calculate how many sectors you need to write to and/or from the disk (i.e. you just subtract the hi mem from lo mem and divide that by 128 or 256)
If i recall the way omnimon did it (h himem - lo mem /128)
Or even better with the sector write option, just tell the option to write xxx and yyy memory to disk without specifying how many sectors to actually write (since the option would automatically figure out how many sectors to write)

What about 'Computer Animation Primer', I used to have this book (did mostly focus on Atari program listings) but also dealt with everything to do with animation, graphics and computer hardware
-
Is ultimon II nearly finished John or have you just started it
Lasstly if your still doing it, could you add a calcultor mode (like the one built into omnimon)...or even a binary load option (i.e load dos exec. files without dos)

Red Balls....Gives you wiiiings
(oh no, that's red bulls)

I am guessing Paul and John used to drop into sillica sometimes, I know that someone kept putting up his music files on the XE (it must have been one of them 2)
As for computerhouse UK....good memories, used to go and see them fairly regularly towards the end (i.e. a walk from islington to fulham), the person that Started Gralin house and one of the original L.A.C.E members (not to be confused with Gralin international) worked for computerhouse as their inhouse hardware guy (i had quite a few chats with him at the various LACE group meetings)
lastly if you're using ultimon on anything over 128k (emulator or pucka A8), i don't think it will work (I recall someone at LACE telling me that)
the pdf and the ultimon files are separate files

The fact you post on an atari site means that you are 'already sold'
If you don't want to buy an xl for 50 usd, just go to a flea market or garage sale/yard sale (or what we call a 'car booter' on this side of the big drink) and you might snag an xl for a lot less

It is somewhat sad though that a good number of 'amiga sites' seem to want to erase or airbrush Joe Decuir out of amiga history (since he was one of the first 'hires' by Jay, apparently employee no.3) and principle designer of the Agnus Chip
It's somewhat like say, A8 or VCS users/owners saying that Joe had nothing to do with the A8 or VCS
Perhaps amiga sites and users are somewhat more disrespectful or disingenous to someone that actually made a contribution to the original amiga design

Only thing about the article is that they spelt larry's name wrong (it's kaplan not caplin) and also it seems that Jay gives a different perspective of the founding of hi-toro from the one that Larry gives (larry mentions that it was he that found the florida doctors to invest in a games company, Jay seems to say otherwise)

....About the Amiga
Shame that both Atari and Later commodore essentially ballsed everything up....Atari for turning down Jay's original proposal back in 1979, Commodore for basically doing a cack job at positioning the Amiga properly as well as slowly absorbing what was Commodore Amiga Inc into commodore's existing coroporate structure and the same went for the Amiga technology (basically, commodore buying out Amiga for the very same reason's tramiel wanted amiga for, i.e. the technology and not the company...Only difference was commodore went about it backhanded like)

Looking at the original link i referred to
It looks like you need a 'heat retainer or conductor' applied to said ship in order to elicit the desired effect
Since, merely applying additional heat to said chip won't do a jot, since as i understand it...a chip by it's own devices doesn't retain or conduct heat
2 heat retainers/conductors i know of are, hair (as mentioned in the link on post one) and glass
only thing is though, applying extra heat via this retainer/conductor and then tranferred or channeled back into said chip, won't that increase voltage levels on that chip (somewhat likened to how solar panels work)

Thanks for the filez John....Hows things going since you left the Atari scene (post computer support)
lastly, isn't it true that one of the futureware programmers (of sidewinder fame) helped you design 'Ultimon', Paul Carr unless i am mistaken
-
I was going to stick this in the amiga post that dauber made, since it does sort of relate to amiga things
I seem to remember that during the period between commodore going under and gateway turning the amiga into an OS only platform, that there was an attempt by whoever owned amiga at the time to expand amiga's technology or OS onto the mobile/portable devices market, probably as a competitor to Microsoft, apple and also Psion/Palm
I am just curious or interested to know how well Amiga did in that market and how many mobile/portable devices the technology or OS was ported to, the only one i recall was something called Zaurus (or was it Taurus) and also whether they are still 'active' in that market (something along the lines of AROS based mobiles/portable devices perhaps)

Any reason why the other issues of pokey weren't adapted to english, freddy....there might have been some interesting content there

Looks interesting, apparently a certain person here on AA was behind this new gfx mode (if you read the article/1st post)
Seems to be a prob with the download though, keep getting this msg in polish (guessing that it's an error or something)

You could always try best electronics, I guess they do ST parts/components as well (since you are in canada), alternatively you could try rs components, I think they might do some US/North Am. psu components

Hello Andrews! Quite well here. How are u?

Doesn't this also stop some forms of piracy, since you will only be able to play the game you purchased on the machine you first played the game on (i.e. you won't be able to play that game on any other sony system)
I think this is some sort of software protection system preventing illegal copies flooding the marketplace
The thing about not being able to use second hand games (or used games to you people) is a side benefit (to MS's games publishers/developers)
I think this was a move by software devs/pubs against sony, the idea being that if sony didn't agree to this (i.e the online verification system) then their platform wouldn't be supported
I think a similar system is already in place on tablet pc's and mobile phone apps (i.e. you can only download the content on the device your'e going to use the content on, again to prevent a used app market and also to stop piracy to some effect)

In Previous versions of emulator, (i.e. before 2013) don’t set smart enable permanently only set it when fully landed on each planet and unset it before you complete planet…Or the game will crash (prob. something to do with how the emulator is programmed)…Don’t ask me if it happens this way on a pucka (real) Jaguar and said game
Also for pods collect/remaining, you will have to save some pods or you’ll keep getting ‘too many pods destroyed’ message

I think the blue shield is invincibility (or it may be the rad shield, green)

For invincibility option w/o sprite corruption set weapon select to 7 and enable weapon and set invincibility to 0, setting invincibility to 2 affects the invincibility shield, setting invincibility to 2 gives sprite corruption
lastly, I dunno which instructions refer to these memory locations (as above) or whether these locations aren't the 'real' ones and refer you to elsewhere, only way i guess we will find out is when a breakpoint option is added
Additionally the games that shamus said won't work, i think he means in 'alpine mode'

Actually, cybermorph and doom do work (at least on the windsucks version), was playing with them yesterday
Am wondering if this 'alpine' option also features a memory editor, so i can find out where in PC mem the jaguar memory is emulated (using artmoney)

They were exactly 'cheated', warners were doing what the business world calls 'creative accounting' by basically writing off all development costs associated/attributed with the A8 (which ofcourse meant additional payments to employees) and the engineers took that as meaning they (atari) were reneging on promises or guarantees made
Atari came off the worst though, so in effect a company trying to 'hide losses' like warners atari division did came back to haunt them big time
