Furthermore, isn't it convenient how this issue is dominating media headlines? The American economy is on the mend, the soldiers are coming home, and things are ever so slightly starting to look up. When attacks against the "tax-and-spend" president start to fall flat, what attacks does the other side have to fall back on? Social issues. They make everyone angry on both sides, and all of a sudden everyone forgets what's really essential.

Tax and spend is no problem...until running 1.3T+ annual deficits leaves us all begging for bread. At least the banks and the solar companies got their handouts and bonuses. Our government is crony to the core.

I will agree with you there, which makes it all the more reprehensible that politicians on both sides can make the public dance like puppets by dangling manufactured issues in front of them, distracting them from the one true evil the American people face: The buying and selling of law.
