  1. Clever! But here’s the big question... Does the coffee maker still make coffee?? Actually, here’s a real question. If you the knobs as potentiometers to work as paddle controllers, can you use them and the joystick controls at the same time? Didn’t one of the later systems combine joysticks and paddles? I don’t recall if you had to switch the modes on them or if a game could use both joystick and paddle controls at the same time (on the same controller). Seems like something like that could be fun.
  2. It’s nice to see paddle games making a comeback. Been gone too long!
  3. Superman has always been one of my favorites. I had it as a kid and it's one of the ones I always play whenever I play some Atari.
  4. Yeah, I loved that game, but hated the lack of an ending.
  5. Huh. I actually didn’t know that. For some reason, I had assumed the keyboard controllers worked like the joysticks. I guess because the key presses seemed like they would be discrete input values like the joysticks and unlike the continuous values from the paddles. I learned something new today.
  6. Do you have screenshots from the other version?
  7. Feels like the Black Castle in Adventure would look like...
  8. Thats awesome! And you should probably never play Grand Theft Auto...
  9. Thanks. Obviously my memory is poor!
  10. Yep, that's what I had been thinking. On the 800, at least in BASIC, I just had to PEEK the location and read the paddle position. But I guess we had the BASIC cartridge to thank for doing some of the heavy lifting!
  11. Huh. I had no idea that programming for the paddles was so much more complicated! Thanks for sharing the explanation.
  12. I unfortunately dont have the technical knowledge to offer any advice, but I hope youll post photos and information when youre done!
  13. Looks very cool! But, what is the difference between the .a78 file and the .bin file?
  14. They appear to have the same part number in those photos. 5213.
  15. Is it me, or is that a crazy number of connections and adapters??
  16. I would take the approach that the Racing the Beam book did with the Atari 2600. Discuss the specifics and the limitations of the hardware and show how the creative programmers did some really neat stuff with that they had.
  17. Xbox One controller works great! No drivers needed. Just make sure you get one of the newer controllers with built in Bluetooth.
  18. Yep, Im pretty sure thats what Mogul Mania does.
  19. Pretty sure the Atari sees it as just a joystick, so any game you write for the joystick would work.
