  1. I do get tire of the oft repeated claim that ET was the "worst video game ever made." Hell, it's not even the worst game on the 2600; far from it! I guess it's up to us Atari fans to continue to set the record straight whenever possible.
  2. I wrote about these a while back: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/198404-my-top-five-first-person-space-simulatorsshooters/?fromsearch=1
  3. I started on the 800 Star Raiders as well. It remains my all time favorite video game on any system anywhere. But I do love the 2600 FPSS games too! A while back I did a detailed write up here on my top five. If you're interested, here is the link: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/198404-my-top-five-first-person-space-simulatorsshooters/?fromsearch=1
  4. Definitely Starmaster for me, although I'm also a big fan of Star Raiders, Phaser Patrol, and Space Attack.
  5. I use Windows defender and downloaded it last week with no problems.
  6. I've played Superman a number of times on my AFP and haven't noticed any jitter. It is harder to play on the small screen, especially when there is a lot of flicker.
  7. My mistake. I use the difficulty buttons on the AFP instead of the TV type button. I have no problems with the game using those.
  8. Just press the fire button to leave the map and warp to the sector you've selected. Works fine.
  9. Can I ask where you found the bulk set of ROMs? I'm looking for the same.
  10. The original Star Raiders on 8-bit is my all time favorite video game. But there is no way this movie will be any good. (That said, I'll probably watch it anyway...)
  11. Just picked up my AFBP and an SD card and an looking forward to playing some games portably (is that a word?) Thanks for putting together the info and the .ZIP file!
  12. I have the CC1, too... somewhere... I really hope it's in one my big plastic bins full of carts.
  13. Which do you consider the original 2600 version, Parker Bros or Starpath? And which version is on the Flashback?
  14. It may be old news but I hadn't heard about it yet. Adventure looks fun but those mazes could of be tough! Yar's Revenge would be awesome. Although it seems like a lot of the games would just resemble more recent conventional 3D remakes of them.
  15. That's pretty cool! I look forward to reading his ebook.
  16. Did INTV release games for the 2600? I thought all of them were released under the M Network name.
  17. I still have my old record collection, and I definitely had some K-Tel back in the day. That cover looks familiar, I wonder if I have that one. Gonna have to go look for it!
  18. Yes, they work with the two paddles plugged into one port. After all, that's how the original paddles worked too.
  19. Weird! I've never seen anything like that.
  20. Great interview. Thanks for sharing!
  21. I was never a huge fan of Pitfall! I always found it a bit boring. Also, I can always play Missile Command only for short periods.
  22. I've never heard of it being done, but there's no real reason why it wouldn't work. It's just an audio file. They're on CD and WAV and MP3, so vinyl or another analog format should work fine, as long as the audio quality doesn't get reduced too much.
