  1. I just registered for the Longleaf Triathlon on @IAmAthlete. http://t.co/emcY5pAukI via @iAmAthlete

  2. Well obviously those of us here are going to disagree with Conan's assessment of those games. You need to be able accept the technological limitations of the 2600 given when it was created, and it helps to appreciate the creativity and intelligence that went into creating those games given those limitations.
  3. Very cool! I first learned to program in ninth grade on Commodore PET computers. We also made all sorts of dumb little programs that did very little, but were fun to make.
  4. Finished a few miles on the stationary bike, first time since the surgery. Knee is stiff, but not too sore.

  5. Nee iOS7 looks like Android with a splash of Windows Phone. Still, not bad. Shame it's still just a grid of static icons.

  6. Made it back to Tampa! Weather on the coast was actually very nice. (Checked in at Peter O'Knight Airport) http://t.co/bSPsd7HYlC

  7. Attention Tampa folks: VERY heavy rain expected tonight and tomorrow with possible tornados. Be careful!

Always... and you do the same!

  8. As a kid, I wanted to build a cockpit simulator using Star Raiders. Still kinda do...
  9. Out of surgery, on my way home. Everything went just fine.

  10. Now, after knee surgery you're only supposed to eat ice cream for a week, right?

      Ransom

Yeah, it's good for you for one week, and then after that it becomes a health hazard. So fill up while you can!

  13. MRI confirmed torn meniscus in my knee and also arthritis. Surgery (scope) is scheduled for Thursday.

Sorry to hear it. Best to you. I'll tell you from experience that my meniscal surgery was most helpful to me, but it took a good year to get full strength back in that leg.

DoctorTim, I'm sorry to hear that your recovery took so long! I've been led to believe that most of the time recovery from a knee scope is pretty quick. I'm certainly hoping that will be the case with mine.

  14. Just placed my order. Looks like a great game! I do hope you'll release the .bin for use on Stella as I use that more than my actual console these days.
  15. Getting my knee MRI'd this afternoon. I HATE MRIs! Big guy in little tube...

The MRI on my knee didn't show anything, even tho it kept locking up, I finally had it scoped anyway and it's been great since, that was in '99

My doctor won't send me for an MRI. He said basically that at my age, it will either get better or it won't. Great..

Tell me about it... I'm basically the size of a tall fat wrestler, and for my sciatica, I had to enter in it feet first, then got stuck at the chest during the whole procedure.

  16. Nicely done! I love comparisons like this.
  17. Huh. I never had any problem understanding Star Raiders at all. I suppose that's because when I got it I had already spent more hours than I can count playing Star Raiders 800 (my all time favorite game) and Starmaster, too. It never even occurred to me that it would be difficult for someone new to it to understand it.
  18. Great run at Miles for Moffitt this morning! Finished the 5k three seconds under the time I was hoping for.

Not bad!! Just slow down a bit at the end and you should be able to get the time you were hoping for next race. ;-)

  20. I'm 45. We got a 2600 (back when it was just the VCS) around 1980 or so, and my parents bought me an 800 (the original) around 1982 to replace the Commodore Pets I would borrow from school to use. One of my friends had an 800 already, so I was familiar with them. My other closest friend had a Vic-20, but soon replaced it with a C64. Our nerdy Atari vs. Commodore arguments were an early version of more recent PC vs. Mac discussions.
  21. Live music tonight. The singer is very good. (Checked in at La Fuente) http://t.co/8fUqq9KSZL

  22. We had an away softball game today. Only four girls showed up. Forfeiting sucks.

  23. Enjoying Depeche Mode's new album.

  24. Thanks for the link. I just downloaded it and tried it. It's not bad, but plays in a very low resolution. I think I prefer the real thing.
  25. I'm very curious about the vector version. Where did it come from? Is it running on an actual vector screen? What hardware is it running on?
