  1. Thats good news! Thanks for that Peter, really appreciate the response!!! That more than helps, point taken about Dragons Lair etc... Many thanks
  2. ...cute, shapely brunette. Whoa there, wrong forum. Actually I seek help! I've recently purchased a Jaguar, being the growing Atari freak that I am, and was wondering if US & European versions of the console have incompatibility issues. i.e. Do NTSC and PAL version of games work on all consoles? The reason I ask is because nowhere on any literature, games boxes etc... have I seen references to games/consoles being NTSC or PAL? Only on eBay have I seen this. I assume there are no compatibility issues, but would like this clarified from those that know before I go and purchase a game from the US only to have it not work!
  3. Well lets see now. Originally I used my ST for games way back in the late 80s and through the early 90s. As time progressed it saw me through college where I used it for word processing, DTP and dabbled with editing images etc... The usuals with programs like Calamus, Papyrus, Atari Works, True Image/Paint etc... As my interest in music grew, I gradually built up somewhat of a music studio, it was time to change its role again, so after a few upgrades and add ons (and quite a bit of money which would have bought me a PC) now sits proudly as one of the center pieces in my midi set up. In this set up I use it as a midi sequencer, progressing from various sequencers however mainly Breakthru V2, now mostly Cubase V3. It controls my synth, sampler, monosynth, rack synth and syncs my digital multitrack. It took some time but I'm proud to say it is perfectly set up. No need for disconnecting or repatching here, woohoo! With my sampler I also edit samples 'dumping' them to and fro over midi using Replay 16. Also other sample editors such as Digit and Squash It. When samples are too large and painfully slow, then I just use a Syquest cart to exchange data from my sampler to my ST. I love it (well like it very much anyway) and must have had it for approx 17 years now? In fact it was only last year that I thought I better invest in a PC so got a laptop for internet purposes amongst other things, and with the intent of incorporating it as a soft synth, and maybe other tasks in my studio. Will I get rid of my lovely upgraded grey box.........naaaaaaaaah, its grown with me and has remained faithful and trustworthy. Oh, and of course its Atari, which means it has come around in cycles as being a cool retro brand. As if it was anything but cool, derrrrr...!
  4. Okay tjlazh, so you have a an original ST, Mega, Falcon & TT. Now thats just plain greedy! Thats a whole lot of Atari. Lucky you, and unlucky me, wish I had the room. Anymore up your sleeve?
  5. Sorry tjlazah, its an original ST not MEGA. DOH!!! You've even stated the fact. Apologies for the pics on my previous reply guys, didn't really read the FAQs on how to attach photos. However you can actually download them, ensuring that the file extension is .jpg if you really want to view them.
  6. Thanks for the welcome Serblander. Yeah the Falcon is quite a scarce machine in these here parts too. I don't know anyone who has one. I would love one but don't think I could bring myself to make my ST redundant, and don't really have the room to have both set up. From Australia I see, a land close to my heart! Nice Mega tjlazah, original Atari all of the way!
  7. Some of you guys have some old but glorious machines. I've wanted a Falcon for years but not sure if would really benefit me, more for nostalgic purposes than anything else. I have a humble STFM, upgraded with 4mb of ram, Tos 2.06 switcher, Overscan graphics extension, ICD Link 2 with 850mb hard drive, Syquest EZ135 drive (EZflyer and SyJet when not hooked up to other gear) and CDRom. Now it is used in my music studio, where I have expanded it to have a total of 5 midi ins and 5 midi outs. This is my first time in the forum, it looks a good forum!
