Thanks. The modded NES gamepad in my pic was the first one I ever did. I still have it. I sold a few, but I wasn't making enough to justify the time I put into them. I don't have a diagram, I just looked it up online somewhere. If I can recall where it was, I'll post a link.

Lookin good! My suggestion would be to rotate the photo, so it isn't sideways.

Luigi301 is quite right.

Look, I get that games can sometimes be frustrating, but so can life. It's amazing that after all the drama over not finding an easter egg, you still manage to throw it into this thread. I honestly feel bad for you, so I don't want to sound rude. The fact is, if video games really stress you out so bad, you NEED to stop playing them. I'm saying this out of concern for your health. It's clear that you get extremely worked up over very insignificant things, which puts a VERY real strain on your heart, among other things. I know it's been suggested already, but I think you should consider seeking some help from a support group or possibly seeing a mental health professional. There's no shame in admitting you have a problem and it's the first step to finding a solution. I know you feel like other members here are being jerks, but after months of complaining about something, people tend to get tired of hearing about it. It doesn't mean that these people are jerks, it just means they have been pushed to their limit. They are feeling the same type of frustration as you seem to get from gaming. Almost every forum member who has replied to your threads, offered advice, because they wanted to help. Time after time, their advice was ignored. If you can't accept help from the people willing to give it, then there's no use in posting complaints. People come here to talk about something they enjoy, with people who have similar interests, not to read countless complaints about a game being too hard or not being able to find an easter egg. I hope you can take this as constructive criticism or helpful advice and not as an insult. You have made some rather good contributions to the community here, but they are being overshadowed by the negativity you've been bringing here lately.

List of ROMS that do not work on Harmony?
RamrodHare replied to ZillaRUSH's topic in Harmony Cartridge
I have only had issues with a couple of games. It wasn't the fault of the Harmony or the console. Every time I had an issue, it was because the Vizio Smart TV I was playing on didn't like the signal it was getting. I didn't have any issues with any of my "Dumb" Vizio TVs, just the "Smart" one. If you are trying to play on anything other than an old CRT TV, it's very possible that's your problem. Every rom I have works on the Harmony, with either a 2600, Jr. or my 7800. Of course, you do have to know if you are using PAL or NTSC, since that's rather important. Also, something important to note, even a modded console won't help if your Tv has an issue with a game. Without knowing all the technical stuff, my understanding is that some games used "blank" in place of "black" and that's where the problems happen with my smart TV. When the game tries to use that, the TV just drops the picture, but continues to play the sounds. Skeleton was one of the games that had this issue. I found a modified version of the rom, now it plays just fine. There is the off chance that your console could have a bad chip, since it seems under the right conditions, the TIA chip can fail, but only show signs on some games. I'm sure some of the programmers and more tech savvy folks can help more than I have, but I thought I'd share what little knowledge I have. -
Glue sticks are the preferred method for most vintage toy enthusiasts when it comes to sticking vintage labels back without damaging the plastic. Of course if you aren't worried about keeping things vintage, reproduction labels are the best bet. While cyanoacrylates (super glue) will stick stuff together, it's not something you can easily remove, so I don't recommend it. I recently (yesterday, as a matter of fact) found a roll of tape, that isn't actual tape. It's 2 inches wide and on a roll. It looks like a dark brown wax paper. When you apply it to something, it sticks, but the brown paper can then be peeled off, leaving a nice even coat of clear adhesive. I don't know where I got it or how long I've had it, since I found it while going through some junk I had boxed up in the spare room. I figure this stuff would be excellent for adding a sticky back to any type of paper, sadly, I don't have any more info than what I've given. I have a feeling it came from a box of assorted industrial tape that a friend of mine in maintenance at a local factory gave to me a few years ago..

FS: Atari Vader 2600, AV modded, with games and accessories.
RamrodHare replied to RamrodHare's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I've edited the original post and I'm now willing to sell single items or small lots. PM me with what you are interested in and your zip code. I'll get back to you with a price ASAP. Removed more sold items. List is now current. I'm trying not to lose money on shipping, so there's not much wiggle room on the shipping price, but feel free to make offers on the items. These are all just games and manuals I don't need, so I'm very flexible on the price. -
I don't have a Starplex, but I've been considering getting one. So, I'm probably interested in a label too.
-
That's a prototype game and as of now, only one cart exists. The game is also incomplete, since it lacks any sound. It has never been dumped or produced, so there is no rom or Label. If you are looking to reproduce this cart, it's not going to happen.

I'm not sure what the forum rules are on posting links to rom sites. I'm also unsure of the copyrights on these. When hunting for roms, doing a forum search will bring up some interesting threads.. Also, a quick google search will bring up quite a few sites that you can download these from. That's how I got mine.

How did you celebrate the 40th birthday of the Atari 2600?
RamrodHare replied to Leisure's topic in Atari 2600
I swapped the old red LED in my 7800 to a nice new RGB (color changing) LED. I organized all my 2600 carts and put them on my display shelf in the living room, so everyone can see them! Last, but not least, I painted the ugly red and yellow buttons on my Flashback 3. Now they are gloss black and it looks SOOOO much better. It looks so good I'm thinking about doing it to my Flashback 4. -
Seems like a good deal to me.

I just want to say Thanks for the release of this awesome rom.

I just spent too much time worrying about how the menu looked on the Harmony cart. The 7805 is new, I did a full tune-up on the console and replaced the caps and everything. I tried two different power supplies and had the same results. Both power supplies work fine on my Jr. and checked out OK with my meter. I'm thinking that the picture quality I have is normal and I was just expecting too much. Most of the time I've been playing on my 42 inch TV, which wasn't the best way to judge the picture quality. As long as I stick to a CRT with this 2600, the picture is fine. I just got hung up on the fact that the Harmony menu is clearer with my Jr. and my 7800. I'm thinking now that that wasn't a fair comparison. The only way I could do a real comparison would be with another revision 12 motherboard with the same mod. I'm not going to worry about it anymore. I'm just going to use this 2600 with my CRTs and use the Jr. and 7800 for my big LCDs.

Yeah, exactly what Keatah said. If I were to guess, based on personal experience, it's the controller port connection. I've worked on 2 different 2600s that had a pin break between the port and the board, it was the right port on both.
-
I've played all of those and I like them quite well!

There's something about the look of the 2600 that I like better than the Jr. and the 7800, but I really don't NEED a 3rd system. I went ahead and listed my extra games and manuals in the marketplace. If they sell, then I'll have to look over my bills and expenses and see if it's wise to try and fix this 2600 or to put the money toward more important things. More than likely, I'll just box it up until one of the other consoles kick the bucket.

OK, Here's how I'm going to do this. I need to sell my Vader 2600. I don't want to, but I'm not using it and I need the money for more important things. I'm going to list it without pictures, until I see that someone is actually interested, at which point I'll add photos of everything, along with a better description of all the included accessories. I just figure, if there's no interest right off the bat, I don't feel like getting everything unpacked and taking photos while I'm dealing with these kidney stones. I'll only be able to ship to the continental US, due to shipping costs and and all the other problems that happen when shipping to another country. Now, on to the description of what I'm selling and the prices. I have a Vader that's been fully refurbished, new caps, power regulator, etc. The shell is in really nice shape, It's AV modded and has a RGB color changing power LED installed. It will come with an original power supply, AV cable, 2 refurbished Flashback joysticks, and 20 random 2600 games (no duplicates). $100 with free shipping. I also have a Wico Bat joystick, in nice condition in the original box. A set of Epyx 500xj joysticks, nice condition A rebuilt set of Paddles that work flawlessly A recently cleaned and refurbished quickshot 1 in the original box. A sealed boxed copy of Warlords for the 2600, box is mashed, but still looks decent. I also have rebuilt original CX40 joysticks or a few different aftermarket ones. I can add or substitute any of these items to the above set for an added fee. I'll be 100% honest, I'm not sure how much this stuff is worth right now, so I just guessed at prices based on the amount of money I need and how much shipping will cost for items this large. I can be flexible on the prices as long as I don't feel like I'm taking a loss. Now, if you are REALLY interested in this stuff, let me know and I'll get the pictures on here. I want to avoid ebay if at all possible, but that's my next step if I can't find a buyer here. I'd much rather deal with friends and skip paying eBay and Paypal fees. One more thing, if anyone is interested, I have a boxed Atari Flashback 4 with wireless joysticks. I'd be willing to sell or trade it. $30 with free shipping or I'll trade for repairable 2600 paddles..

All the reviews on on the UAV are great and the screenshots look very clear. I'm just not 100% sure I want to sink any more money into this 2600. If $25 will clear the picture up, it's worth it, but with the price of gas and food going up, I just don't know if I can justify spending that much, when I already have a working Jr. and 7800. The only real reason to fix this Vader is just because it looks nicer than the other two consoles. If I could ever sell off all the extra 2600 games and manuals I have, I'd have more than enough money to fix this Vader!

I swapped the 150pf with the 68pf I got from the RF modulator on my donor board (good thing I had the extra board, since I desoldered the old modulator and threw it away). I feel like the colors are much brighter now, but the picture is still blurry on my Vizio and there are some distortions in some things. A good example is that the trapped miners on H.E.R.O. now have black vertical stripes on their shirts. The stripes are closer together and don't seem to line up with the "jail bars" on the screen. I'm thinking that the jail bars might be more visible due to the image being a bit sharper and a lot brighter, as for the distortion in the miner's shirts, I have no idea. I tested it on my 13 inch CRT to see how it looked. It's not as blurry as it was, so the text in the Harmony cart menu is fairly readable, but it still seems to strain my eyes. I'm not sure why the brightness has cranked up so much. I had to turn the brightness setting on the CRT down as far as it would go to keep the games from being too bright to look at. H.E.R.O. looks decent on a 13 inch screen, the miners shirts still have a tiny bit of distortion, but it's barely noticeable unless you are specifically looking for it. The jail bars are still really visible though. I'm thinking it's just not going to get any better than this. I know it's an issue with this revision 12 board. My motivation to keep working on this 2600 is running out. I may just box it up and come back to it when I have the money to get a UAV board for it. I appreciate all the help from everyone.
