Bump
You didn't answer my question.

Do these have new internals or just the ball mod?

For this price, they should have the Best Electronics internals at least. I can do the ball mod for about $12 per controller, so I don't understand what makes these so valuable.

Thanks! I'll check out the PDFs and email you when I get everything picked out!

I have several 2600 systems for sale....
Thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to gain from this list.
It's actually really hard to follow and I'm not sure what you have in the list? Also, Reference prices?I just don't get it. If you have stuff for sale, why not just tell me how much you want for the things I'm looking for? I do appreciate you making an effort.

I'm still looking. I updated my first post to include a list of 2600 games I have for sale or trade and a couple new things I'm looking for.

mine arrived today. It's amazing. I appreciate all the work that went into making the Harmony Encore. There's nothing at all to complain about. This thing is just plain perfect. Thank YOu!!!!

Update:
Mine arrived today! So it shipped out Tuesday night and was delivered on Thursday at noon! That's fast shipping. I've been messing around with it all day and I have absolutely no complaints. It arrived nicely packed and looks perfect! The instructions are easy to follow and I had it up and running within a couple of minutes. All I had to do was load the games on a card and I was ready to go. Every game I threw at it worked flawlessly. I don't know how I lived without this!

Very cool controller modifications and the coupler is sweet.
If ever considering modifying the coupler to bring it to Arcade panel spec., from center-to-center, Robotron joysticks are exactly 10 inches apart; though at the current setting, there's not much of a variance having an ~extra inch stretch for each arm.

Thanks!
This coupler is kind of a prototype, just to see how it would work out. I'll probably be making some more of them, out of better materials such as plexiglass or MDF. As far as the joystick distance, I just went with what was most comfortable for me, but if I make them for other people, I can build them to their specs.

OK, Here's my first try at adding images to a post, so hopefully it works.
The first photo shows the "Prototype" coupler I built for playing Robotron using 2 2600 joysticks. It's made of layered plywood, 25x5x2 inches with 12 inches between the joysticks and weighs around 2 pounds. The joysticks are removable. They have 2x2 inch velcro squares under each of them and the joysticks fit securely in the holes even without the velcro. It has 2 holes in the front edge to allow the cords to come through along with a nylon carrying handle in the front and 4 non-slip feet on the bottom. I added a chrome strip between the two joysticks, just to break up the all black look and to better fit with the 7800 console. My score on Robotron tripled the first time I used this thing!

The next photo shows a couple of custom controls I did for the 7800. The gamepad is a modded NES controller, with a small ball-top joystick added to the directional pad, and the start and select buttons removed. I also did a quick and dirty paint job, along with a new overlay and Atari logo, just as a test mostly. My masking tape failed around the logo, so the edges there look really bad. It was the first one I made before I started selling them, so I still like it. The 7800 proline in the photo has a shortened throw, by cutting down the joystick and the original knob and adding a rubber buffer to keep the joystick from being forced too far in any direction. I'll add more photos as I finish the other projects I have in the works.

I've run into sellers like this recently. One seller had a Vader and listed it as AV modded with power LED. The photo clearly showed it had no mods. I told her about it and she didn't change the listing or email me back. Another seller listed a CX40 joystick as a CX10. I emailed him and explained how to tell the difference, same result as the other seller. The last one I saw was for a light sixer. The guy used a stock photo (not a very good one) and a buy it now price of $500 with no information about the console or what came with it. I thought it was a joke, so I emailed him and asked him if he was kidding. never got a reply, but when I looked on eBay last night, I didn't see that listing anymore. A lot of sellers are uninformed when it comes to the things they are selling and most don't care about the buyer. They just want to make some money and that's all. If they can stretch the truth and get more cash, they do.

Search the site for the titles you're looking for. Very often the authors post WIP versions as they develop their games, and just as often a near-final or almost-complete version before it goes on sale - that lets you get a solid taste of the game, but still allows the authors to sell the really-finished/totally-polished final versions.
That's exactly what I needed to know Thanks!

I appreciate the replies! I do have a 7800 and Alien Brigade is high on my list of carts to get, but if the light gun really is that bad, I'll just use a joystick or gamepad when I finally get the cart.
-
What does this even mean? Like, literally any game, just named "Blade Runner"?
Okay, get yourself a Berzerk cartridge and write BLADE RUNNER on the front. Yay, you're now Deckard hunting down Replicants and running from Evil Olmos.
Do I really need to be THAT specific?
Nope, pretty sure most people with average intelligence knew what I meant.
-
Any chance you would want to make a few of these to sell?

-
A Blade Runner game would be nice.
-
That's the first I've heard of this game, but I'd play it on my 2600 for sure! I'm sure someone might be willing to have a go at it, if someone hasn't already.

I say try the contact cleaner before taking the carts apart.
Since I got back into collecting, I have only ran into one bad cart and it was Circus Atari. I tried everything short of taking it apart. It just wasn't going to work. I cleaned all the 60+ carts I have and they all work fine. I've also heard the contact cleaner will bring the paddle controllers back to life. I didn't try it on mine, I disassembled the pots and cleaned them by hand. If they ever get jittery again, I'll try the contact cleaner and if it doesn't do the trick, I'll buy new pots.

Ok, I finally got the cash together to buy a Harmony Encore. So my question is this, How many games used the light gun and are they good enough to justify buying the gun for?

I have two CRT tvs I can use, a 13 inch portable (which I feel is too small for using the light gun) and a 32 inch floor model. If the light gun games are well liked, I'll pick up the light gun, but if members here don't think it's worth it, I'll trust the wisdom of the forum and put the money toward a Homebrew cart or some other accessories.

On an unrelated note, is there a way to get "demo" roms of the homebrews available in the store, so I can try them before I buy them?
-
That sounds like a problem with the SD card. Maybe just reinserting the card helps. Else, can you try a different one?
I agree. At first I was thinking it could be dirty contacts in the 2600, but you wouldn't see the spinning yin-yang if that were the case.

I'm looking for 7800 games, carts only, for a reasonable price. Mainly Dug Dug, Centipede, Galaga, Commando, or others if the price is right. I already have Robotron, Food Fight, Pole Position II and Xevious, so I'm not interested in those four.
I'm also after some controllers for the 2600. I really want a set of Competition Pro joysticks or some nice fresh CX-40s, but I'll consider any of the decent joysticks if the price is right.
I'm also interested in a Best Electronics Light Gun and a working 2600 Jr.
I can pay with Paypal or I have items and services I can trade.
I mod NES, Genesis, or SMS controllers for the 2600/7800.
I also mod the 7800 prolines to have a shorter stick with less of a throw and keep the standard knob, but in a shortened version.
I can also do various mods/repairs on 2600 or 7800s.
For trade or sale, A Wico Command Control (bat handle) in box with manual. The box has seen better days but the Joystick and manual are near mint. I have over 60 2600 carts, some with instructions. (sealed copy of Warlords, dented box)

Pair of modded Atari 7800 Proline controllers for sale
in Atari 7800

OK, so I asked an idiotic question? You don't think people who are interested in buying these will want to know something about them other than you shortened the stick and added a ball? The way you should have handled my original question was, " I have refurbished these controllers and tested them." That would have been a suitable answer and would have satisfied my curiosity, without you being rude. Honestly, I don't see why you had to be so defensive and agitated. I'm sorry you didn't feel that my question originally deserved a reply. I sell controllers myself and I answer the same type of questions all the time without getting upset. I apologize for goading you into replying by saying,
"For this price, they should have the Best Electronics internals at least, etc." I admit that was rude of me, but I figured it might get a reply, since just asking didn't.. Now, about checking out my threads, feel free to do so. I have no problem answering "idiotic" questions at any time, since the only way to find answers, is to ask questions.
P.S. I know where you got the ball tops from.
