  1. I'd be interested in a copy!
  2. Mine shipped today and will arrive on Friday, according to the tracking.
  3. Do these have new internals or just the ball mod?
  4. I didn't even know I wanted the colors changed until I saw this! Awesome job!
  5. I've run into sellers like this recently. One seller had a Vader and listed it as AV modded with power LED. The photo clearly showed it had no mods. I told her about it and she didn't change the listing or email me back. Another seller listed a CX40 joystick as a CX10. I emailed him and explained how to tell the difference, same result as the other seller. The last one I saw was for a light sixer. The guy used a stock photo (not a very good one) and a buy it now price of $500 with no information about the console or what came with it. I thought it was a joke, so I emailed him and asked him if he was kidding. never got a reply, but when I looked on eBay last night, I didn't see that listing anymore. A lot of sellers are uninformed when it comes to the things they are selling and most don't care about the buyer. They just want to make some money and that's all. If they can stretch the truth and get more cash, they do.
  6. I appreciate the replies! I do have a 7800 and Alien Brigade is high on my list of carts to get, but if the light gun really is that bad, I'll just use a joystick or gamepad when I finally get the cart.
  7. Do I really need to be THAT specific? Nope, pretty sure most people with average intelligence knew what I meant.
  8. Any chance you would want to make a few of these to sell?
  9. A Blade Runner game would be nice.
  10. That's the first I've heard of this game, but I'd play it on my 2600 for sure! I'm sure someone might be willing to have a go at it, if someone hasn't already.
  11. Forum member Pboland makes labels. Send him a message.
  12. I say try the contact cleaner before taking the carts apart. Since I got back into collecting, I have only ran into one bad cart and it was Circus Atari. I tried everything short of taking it apart. It just wasn't going to work. I cleaned all the 60+ carts I have and they all work fine. I've also heard the contact cleaner will bring the paddle controllers back to life. I didn't try it on mine, I disassembled the pots and cleaned them by hand. If they ever get jittery again, I'll try the contact cleaner and if it doesn't do the trick, I'll buy new pots.
  13. Ok, I finally got the cash together to buy a Harmony Encore. So my question is this, How many games used the light gun and are they good enough to justify buying the gun for? I have two CRT tvs I can use, a 13 inch portable (which I feel is too small for using the light gun) and a 32 inch floor model. If the light gun games are well liked, I'll pick up the light gun, but if members here don't think it's worth it, I'll trust the wisdom of the forum and put the money toward a Homebrew cart or some other accessories. On an unrelated note, is there a way to get "demo" roms of the homebrews available in the store, so I can try them before I buy them?
  14. I agree. At first I was thinking it could be dirty contacts in the 2600, but you wouldn't see the spinning yin-yang if that were the case.
  15. I'm looking for 7800 games, carts only, for a reasonable price. Mainly Dug Dug, Centipede, Galaga, Commando, or others if the price is right. I already have Robotron, Food Fight, Pole Position II and Xevious, so I'm not interested in those four. I'm also after some controllers for the 2600. I really want a set of Competition Pro joysticks or some nice fresh CX-40s, but I'll consider any of the decent joysticks if the price is right. I'm also interested in a Best Electronics Light Gun and a working 2600 Jr. I can pay with Paypal or I have items and services I can trade. I mod NES, Genesis, or SMS controllers for the 2600/7800. I also mod the 7800 prolines to have a shorter stick with less of a throw and keep the standard knob, but in a shortened version. I can also do various mods/repairs on 2600 or 7800s. For trade or sale, A Wico Command Control (bat handle) in box with manual. The box has seen better days but the Joystick and manual are near mint. I have over 60 2600 carts, some with instructions. (sealed copy of Warlords, dented box) Here's the list. Star Raiders Berserk Breakout Super Breakout Warplock Centipede Basketball SQ Fireworld SQ Earthworld Missile Command Outer Space Boxing Golf Warlords Starmaster Ms. PacMan PacMan Laser Blast Football Video Pinball Kaboom Combat x2 Pitfall Yar's Revenge x2 Qbert E.T. Space Invaders Defender Dragster Vanguard Mouse Trap Home Run Gorf Joust Amidar Video Chess Asteroids Maze Space Jockey Haunted House Riddle of the Sphinx Phoenix Night Driver Realsports Volleyball Dodge Em Tunnel Runner Megamania Demon Attack Spider Fighter Sky Jinks Seaquest Kangaroo Ice Hockey Skiing Frogger Cosmic Ark Burgertime Armor Ambush Frogs & Flies
  16. Mojo, I have a question. My 4 switch 2600 board is a revision 12, with a basic AV upgrade kit from Atariguy1021 (Sean). I'm about to purchase a Harmony Cart and I wasn't sure if I needed this kit or not. So far my VCS plays all 60+ games I have with no issues, but I understand that these parts are old and do wear out. I've also heard that the Harmony Cart may be more sensitive to out of spec caps than the old game carts. Should I go ahead and replace them now to avoid issues later on?
  17. Exactly! I'm all for supporting the homebrew Devs. I'll by any game that I like playing, if I can afford it, just to have the cart as part of my collection. However, when it comes to rare Atari carts or no longer produced homebrew carts that go for insane amounts, A working flash cart is my only option. My issues are that I showed up late to the game and don't have an unlimited cash flow. There are a bunch of Homebrews that were released on carts, that I never knew about until they were all gone. If I want to buy those now, I'd have to pay more than I could ever afford to spend and none of that money would go to the developers. If the Devs were willing to sell the rom, I'd gladly pay to use it, since it would be affordable and would still earn them a bit of money for their hard work. If I want to play Alien Brigade on a flash cart, it's not hurting anyone. The same goes for any cart that's no longer in production. The only way a flash cart becomes an issue is when people start sharing the roms from new homebrew carts that are being sold at that time. As it stands right now, I'm seriously considering the Mateos 16 in 1 multicart, but as soon as a working flash cart is up for grabs, I'll be all over it.
  18. I'm not sure if I need it. I modded my 7800 and my 2600 with AV kits from Sean (AtariGuy1021). I think the picture looks pretty good, but if this is a big improvement over that, I might be interested.
  19. The controllers you have can be modded by adding a 9 wire cable and 2 resistors. Modded NES or Genesis controllers are the way to go. If you really want to use a Proline controller, I suggest having the joystick shortened, it makes a HUGE difference. I modded both my Prolines and I'm thrilled with how much better they are.
  20. As far as coax connections go, I'm 98% sure that all TVs have the option to switch between antenna and cable and the "Add channels" option still allows for analog and digital signal.. Not to mention the fact that almost all new TVs have multiple connection options. HDMI has become the new standard for most things, but coax, AV and RGB are still widely used. My opinion is that the AV mod is the easiest option, if the TV has AV inputs. As far as picture quality goes on the Atari, trying to connect to HDMI is pointless.
  21. Thanks for the info. I'm glad to hear these were built to last. I'll start tracking one down right now!
  22. I'm extremely interested in these. Most of the 7800 carts I've ran into had horrible labels, so I've been looking all over for labels. I'm also interested in labels for the 2600 carts too.
  23. I know where there's a copy of Hero for $20. The label is all there, but it has that mottled look where the old glue has stained it (or whatever it is that happens). I thought about picking it up, but when I figured in the tax, price of gas, and the distance I have to drive, it makes it closer to $35. I'm saving up for a Harmony Cart, so I don't see a need to go out of my way for any carts that cost more than a few dollars, but if anyone here lives near Johnson City TN and wants it, it's at Mr. K's Books, behind Sonic on Roan St.
  24. This is the first time I've seen the carrying case. Now I have to have one! I take my Vader back and forth on an almost daily basis, so this is a must have accessory for me. I do have a question though.. How sturdy are the latches and the hinge? I've had countless plastic tool cases that ended up failing at one of those points, due to the type of plastic or how thin it was.
