I'm guessing someone has by now, but it's up to eBay to follow through and I don't see that happening. I just hope anyone considering buying it has the sense to do their research first.

I sent a couple of messages to the seller, with links and photos to prove it's a repro and instead of replying, he sent 2 offers. The first was $2,000 and when I told him he was crazy, he sent a second offer, $500. He knows what he has isn't worth anything. He's just a trying to sucker someone who doesn't know any better.

Is the 2600 jr case very brittle or did I just get unlucky?
RamrodHare replied to sirlynxalot's topic in Atari 2600
My Jr is still in excellent shape. Probably looks as good now as when it was new. I tote it around in a bag with the controllers and my Harmony, have yet to see any chips or scratches. I so intend to get a small laptop bag for it one of these days, since I often carry it to friend's homes. -
I'm really thrilled about this game. I've been following along for a while now with the progress and it's amazing how you keep thinking of new things. This is going to be an excellent game and one I'm looking forward to playing.

I'm keeping an eye on this for sure.

Grab a SaveKey. You won't regret it. There's a decent number of homebrews that use it. I feel it enhances the experience and adds to the fun. It keeps me interested trying to beat my earlier score. Plus it's awesome to be able to use what feels like a fairly modern "memory card" with a 2600!

Might as well throw my opinion in. Go Fish, Space Cactus Canyon, Wall Jump Ninja, and anything by Darrell Spice Jr. (as Albert said.) I also advise getting a save key and any homebrews that take advantage of it. You might want to look into rebuilding your joysticks, if they haven't been already. It makes a HUGE difference.

I'd advise against painting them. There are a lot of variables when it comes to painting plastics. Especially those that will be handled often. Gold or metallic paints are even worse. Some paints won't dry properly, some rub off easily. It's just too much of a gamble in my opinion.

One thing is to organize your roms. There's plenty of ways to do it and it will make things much easier when you go to play a specific game. Also try not to add duplicate roms or a bunch of versions of the same homebrew. It will just clutter things up. There's a tool that works with your computer to alphabetically arrange your roms on the SD card. It's the only way to do it that I know of, unless something has changed in the past year. I've had my Encore for quite a while now and I'm still refining my rom set. Just don't wear yourself out. Add a few games at a time and just enjoy playing them. If you go overboard and add every game ever created, you'll spend all your time looking for something you want to play, instead of playing. Also, if you don't have a savekey, get one. Quite a few homebrews use them to save your score and some even save your game progress. Just remember to have fun!

I like the simplicity of the graphics. It allows your imagination to run wild. I didn't grow up with the 2600. I started with the NES and worked my way up from there. Later on, I tried some older systems, eventually leading me to the 2600. Even though I wasn't born until 1978, I have a strong connection to the 70s. Hell, I had an 8 track player in my car in the late 90s, on purpose! I guess overall, I never grew up. I'm sure a therapist would have an explanation. Anyway, back on track, I still collect Transformers (just like some other members here). Something about them takes me back to a time when I was happy and the world was full of possibilities. I've also gotten hooked on antique train sets from the 50s. I wasn't around when they came out, but when I run them around the track, It's like I'm right there. So I guess the 2600 somehow takes me back to a time when things weren't as depressing. I can't really call it nostalgia, since I didn't have one as a kid, but it's somehow equivalent. It just gives me an escape from now, to a place where I'm happy.

I have to agree with Osgeld. It has nothing to do with you being a woman or anyone being jealous. The fact is, you hijacked this thread and made it about you and promoting your show. In real life you may be a great person, but all I can go by, is what you typed. Calling people trolls and losers (not to mention the foul-mouthed name you called a fellow board member) because they didn't like how you hijacked the thread, is rather inappropriate and childish.

I don't have my 7800 anymore, but that one does look different somehow.. maybe it's just my imagination, I'm not sure.

I've tried quite a few different ones and in my opinion, you can't beat upgraded CX-40s. I rebuilt a couple with the Best Gold parts and they are amazing. I want to build a set with the new micro switch boards, but I haven't had the cash. I'm not a fan of the Wico stick either. I have built a few controllers from NES and Genesis gamepads. They work pretty well, but don't have the same nostalgia. I do have a few other customs in the works that might turn out to be decent and I've got some vintage controllers I need to mess with a bit more before I decide how I feel about them.

Sorry, double post. My internet connection is acting up.

I tried to PM you. It said you couldn't receive messages.?? I'd be interested in a Mork & Mindy decal. Just "MORK" in red vinyl about 4 inches wide, with the "O" being a cracked egg. It shouldn't be hard to google a picture of it or I can find one and post it, if that helps.

It's might be possible to vacuum form them. If so, the production cost could be kept fairly low. I'm not 100% sure they could be done that way, but I felt it worth mentioning.

I've tried quite a few controllers, but I still like my rebuilt CX 40s the best. My issue with my hands is likely arthritis.

I'm much better at games now, but they don't hold my interest as long now. Partly because I'm just older, but I think some of it has to do with my hands hurting after a while. I just wish I had at least one friend who was willing to play Combat with me. I managed to get my father to play it a couple of times, but he doesn't like any type of game, at all. Never has, never will. My friends refuse to play anything that isn't PS3 or newer. I really need to find better friends. LOL

I sold him a 7800. He made the payment quickly and all communication was great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy/sell or trade with him in the future.

I can vouch for RockyRaccoon. He's a good guy to deal with. He now has a feedback thread.

I've been using the ones from videogamesource. They seem to be very good quality. It's cheaper to get the entire kit that comes with the rubber boot, fire button and spring and a new set of screws, but if you just need the inner handle, here's the link. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Repair-White-Plastic-Joystick-Handle-for-Atari-2600-Joystick-Controller/172923039282?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140725133649%26meid%3De0bd765664e54fa2a1998f4bd0ee485b%26pid%3D100276%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D172387055329%26itm%3D172923039282&_trksid=p2060778.c100276.m3476 I've been very happy with everything I've bought from them.

Some of you may already be aware of this, but I thought I'd take the time to post about it for those who don't know. The PSP is a really good handheld emulator system, but the cost of the Memory Sticks are a real pain. The Sony Memory Cards for the PSP are really expensive. Especially new ones. Most PSP games are rather large and having emulators with loads of games takes up space pretty quick too. If you already have a Sony brand 32GB card, I don't think my info will be of much use, unless you want a second 32GB card. OK, on to my point. There are white adapters that fit the PSP and allow you to use two micro SD cards at one time. After testing, I found this to work with two 16GB micro SD cards perfectly! Once formatted in the PSP, it sees it as a single card. I paid $4.19 with free shipping for the adapter on eBay and got a pair of 16GB Sandisk micro SD cards for $15 with free shipping. That means for a little less than $20, I now have a 32GB card in my PSP. I intend to try and test the adapter with larger cards as well, but for now, this is still MUCH cheaper than the Sony cards and works just as well. Another plus, is that most people already have some micro SD cards kicking around, since so many things use them now. That means you may only need the adapter. If you happen to have two 32GB micro SD cards, you could test the adapter with them. If it works, you now have a 64GB card for your PSP! A little more info on the adapter. It's white and says PhotoFast CR-5400 MS Pro Duo Dual Slot Adapter Micro SD HC. I've read on some forums that the newest PSP firmware (both factory and custom) allow the PSP to now recognize up to 256GB, but this adapter may not be compatible with micro SD cards bigger than 16GB each, which is why it needs to be tested. There's also a black adapter, but I'm not sure if it is any different, other than the color. The PSP can emulate almost all the older systems, so if you are going that route and only have an 8 or 16GB card, this is a cheap way to upgrade your storage capacity. I'll try to test it with 32GB cards soon and let everyone know if it works or not.
