  1. Is it only me who would find it interesting to see also the PAL versions converted (especially Gyruss and Star Wars Arcade)? Regards, Moderntimes99
  2. Any information on whether this is NTSC only or if there are plans for a PAL version as well? Regards, Moderntimes99

  4. What are the chances that First Star would allow the use of the Boulder Dash name and idea for say a fee of 1-2 USD per cartridge sold? Has anyone asked? Best regards, Moderntimes99
  5. Hi, just being curious - what is the current status of "Man goes down"? I.e. when is the winning cart design going to be announced? What is the current work on coding - adding music? Etc. etc... Best regards, Moderntimes99
  6. Hi! There are two games that I think might suit the Atari 2600 quite well but that I have seen so little discussion about in this forum that I thought I should post a few lines - namely Prince of Persia and Jet Pac. Prince of Persia has relatively simple graphics (I am thinking H.E.R.O. style here) and few sprites, OK the different rooms would take up some memory, but theoretically this could be a workable title more advanced even than Pitfall II. There was a version for CGA on the PC that maybe could be used as a graphical blueprint. Jet Pac on the other hand was an old favorite of mine on the Vic 20 +8K (also for the ZX Spectrum 16K), which essentially is a cross between Joust and a shoot'em up. Very simple background although quite a few sprites. Lately a quite successful homebrew version was made for the Gameboy Colour... Anyone that wants to accept the challenge to transfer any of these two to the 2600? Best regards, Moderntimes99
  7. Looks great... I would especially like a 2600 version of Solomon's Key... thats one of my very favourites of all times... Best regards, Moderntimes99
  8. Be sure to check out Fall Down: http://www.atariage.com/development_page.h...evelopmentID=78 It has a similar gameplay mechanic, but an emphasis on head to head play rather than slickly getting around. In some ways it's less polished (I especially love Miller Genuine Draft's...err, Man Goes Down's...running animation, but I love a good head to head game...and Fall Down even has some good AI. I have tried Fall Down now, and I actually think that I prefer "Man Goes Down", not only because of the more polished graphics but because the smaller platforms, in my opinion, lead to a more interesting game play. Therefore I'd love to see a two player mode in "Man Goes Down". (I'd still prefer to have the single player mode remain as is, though, i.e. no AI computer controlled player in single player mode...). Maybe there could be two settings, in "easy" mode the two players could be able two walk through each other, whereas in "hard" mode they could block each other... A bad idea? Hard (or impossible) to implement? Best regards, Moderntimes99
  9. I have played the demo and like it very much indeed. However, I think a simultaneous two player would make it even better! (If it can't be done without flickering that wouldn't matter too much...) Some music, on the title screen, maybe? Or even in the game? Best regards, Moderntimes99
  10. As I have recently discovered the Starpath version of Frogger and now hold it as one of my absolute favourites for the 2600 I have started to wonder whether it would be possible to make a cartridge of it. (Essentially cutting out the loading step of the Starpath game.) Has anyone tried this? You would probably need a cartridge with both RAM and ROM and a small custom snippet of code that copies the ROM to RAM at startup... Best regards, Moderntimes99
  11. Although there seems to be a lot of information on video mods for the NTSC version of the 2600, most notably "the video mod comparison website"; there is very little substantial information for the PAL version. So, what is the best mod out there that someone actual has made for the PAL version? (I am only interested in answers from people actually having performed the mod in question - not speculations about what should be theoretically possible...) For example has anyone ever succeeded in adapting the Cybertech mod for the PAL version? If not, what would be the second best bet? Anyone willing to share schematics or even better up assist in doing the actual mod? Best regards, Moderntimes99
  12. Hi! I would be very interested as well in a fool proof description for how to install the Cybertech mod in a PAL machine... I will do a video mod for a PAL machine in a few weeks time and if the Cybertech mod is feasible it would be a strong candidate. Best regards, Moderntimes99
