  1. I've always heard how great a game it is and got the setup to run it a couple years back now.  Just hadn't had time to really give it a good go until now though.  I have the instructions about what all the keys do, but I'm not sure what I should actually be doing...  The game starts and I'm flying around with stars going by I guess (yet I'm still in the star system, so I'm not sure about that).  I see what must be the Sun and I'm aware of refueling there, although I've never gotten very close.  After a few minutes my ship explodes each time and I don't know why.  I've even turned on the "x" options and "god mode", yet my ship still explodes after a few minutes.  Are there any walkthroughs on how to do the basics (such as find a space station, etc)?

  2. I also ordered on June 22nd.  The hardware from the order (edLaddin controller) came in long ago, but am still awaiting the games.  It's hard to be patient, but I've waited longer for things before.  Yars Return I believe was 10 months before the backwards cart arrived and then another month before the actual correct cart.

Not just a video game thing either, last set of motorcycle brake lines I needed took a full year to arrive...  These days, nothing happens fast, seems like everyone has more work than time to do it...  8 months from quote to being able to get my driveway work done too.  I've been on a wait list for a couple years for some car body work...

Apparently he got a MASSIVE amount of orders and is really back logged. Glad to know I'm not the only one that hasn't seen their order yet. Well guess we are waiting then!

Yep.  I placed my order just a couple hours before the sale came online and it was then grouped with the sale orders (as it includes items from the sale) and I am still waiting as well, so I don't think he is shipping sequentially by order number but are probably grouped in some other manner that is more efficient for production.

How many games did you order and what day did you order?

I have heard that people are receiving them and Al has been sending the update e-mails. Unfortunately it seems there's still plenty more to go.  Must have been an absolutely crazy number of orders placed.  I ordered 2 games just hours before the sale started.  1 of them turned out to be an item that was included in the sale.  I'm guessing they're batched up some way by total quantity, parts arrival times, etc rather than order date as I am still awaiting both of them.  :)

I was about to order a Cybermorph cartridge, until I saw the price of shipping to Sweden.

    Lowest was $28... 😮

How can something, that weighs almost nothing, be that expensive to ship? 😓

Last time I ordered (a few years back), I only payed $22.50, for three boxed 2600 homebrews, which weighs a lot more.

Has the postal services gone insane in the US??

In comparison, if I would ship a cartridge to the US, it only costs about $10.

Shipping prices are WAY up in the US.  USPS seems to be the best way to go these days as UPS prices have become absolutely ridiculous anymore.

My One X was fairly solid for the most part, but I did get that "something went wrong" with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Also got some random dropouts back to the dashboard/crashes without any errors, but to be fair that still happens occasionally on my Series X.

I'm active on some MSFS groups and it's interesting to hear how some people have so many issues with CTDs, but I haven't had a single one yet.

  7. Elevator Agent was originally scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday the 26th, but the USPS managed to get it to my house 1 business day earlier, so I had it in plenty of time for Christmas!  Unfortunately no shipment notification on my AtariAge Last Chance order yet, but that just gives me something to look forward to in the new year.  :)

Anyways, Elevator Agent is incredible!  Been playing in on my 7800 with my Edladdin Super 78 and it's an all around amazing experience!

Getting in touch with lawyers over a video game purchase ?? And how much would your lawyer charge for that consultation ? lol.

AtariAge has always been slow, they're not Amazon. Chillax folks.

Yeah, we all get spoiled with common off the shelf next day items.  AtariAge games are having to be made, tested, and then shipped out.  Now that I understand how much work it is, the times generally aren't too bad.  This shift with Atari and the last chance sale and then PRGE in the middle has really delayed things.  Even with the delays on these, I've waited longer for games from other popular sources...

Note that due to expired licenses and trademarked titles, these games have been renamed in later official compilations:

AD&D Cloudy Mountain became "Adventure" and "Crown of Kings"

AD&D Treasure of Tarmin became "Minotaur"

Good to know.  AD&D Cloud Mountain is one I have very fond memories of and wish to play again.  However, I've not been able to find it...

I also had at least 2 WiiU discs that look perfect but don't load. Other than that most old stuff except very few old floppies worked fine.

Pretty much all my old floppies failed.  They seemed to get some kind of surface scale on them too and even the few good floppies would not read until I cleaned the drive after trying one of the many failed.

I even have plenty of old personally recorded cassette and VHS tapes and while I haven't been through them all, I've never encountered one that doesn't play in a state that was reasonably close to its original state (which often wasn't that great!) Most of these have been around quite a bit, and never stored with any real care.

Indeed, magnetic tape seems to be a far better long term media than optical.  I've got a bunch of 4 track reel to reel tapes here from the 60's and 70's and every single one will still play fine.  I cannot say the same for my CDs from the '90's and 2000's where half of them are failing...

If you happen to know which ones, would you mind giving a quick list?  It'd be good to track this if at all possible.

I'm afraid I never kept a list.  Since receiving my Edladdin Super 78 a couple weeks ago the wireless controllers have gone into storage too.  Next time I get them out I'll make a point to note working/not working games.  I also recall there were one or two where it zips through the intro/menu like the button is held down but then plays fine otherwise.
