    2600 a/v mod question

Believe me, resistors mods are low quality. With a simple transistor you can get high quality at very low price ( $ 2 as much).
  4. Change the memory settings, select a lot of memory....
  5. this is my score after few hours playing kaboom.

    2600 a/v mod question

http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=62762 It works fine for me...
  7. http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/PN/PN2222A.pdf 2N2222 Datasheet

Schematic [*]R1 1,5 Kilo Ohms [*]R2 2,7 Kilo Ohms [*]R3,R4 5,6 Kilo Ohms [*]R5 39 Kilo Ohms [*]R6 500 Ohms [*]R7 22 Ohms [*]R8 100 Ohms [*]Q1 Transistor 2N2222 (You can use a 2N3904, but quality suffers) Questions : - Who is TIA? TIA is a processor of ATARI 2600. You must look for pins 2,5,7,8 - How i can get 5v? Use a multimeter, and get the 5v from the voltage regulator. - How i can get ground? Wow, try any metal shields inside Some pictures (not of my property) : TIA pins, chroma and audio >> http://www.cheeptech.com/2600mods/2600mods.shtml Transistor : http://www.electroflash.org.nz/images/npn.gif http://www-ece.rice.edu/~jdw/figs/2n3904b.jpg Sorry about my english
  9. Try to do another AV mod. Open your Vader and check the connections, try to use a 2600 schematics, and see if your mod share some connections with the paddle input. (Paddle uses another pins, because is an analog input device). Personally, i recommend the transistor based AV mod because is inexpensive, easy and very sharp image. If you want to know more details about the mod, PM me or visit my website : http://www.atariware.cl/sec/hw.htm (but is in spanish). Good luck!.
  10. Sorry, but i'm looking for a BASIC or ASM routine.
  11. Thanks for the tips. Another thing : SAM = "Screen Aided Managment"
  12. I like TAITO Arkanoid for Atari, is a very addictive game... and really fun.
  13. I'm looking for a program for use the ST mouse and test it. I use SAM, but when i connect the mouse to the joy 1, the arrow on the screen moves with "inertia", and the buttons doesn`t responding. When i connect the mouse to the port 2, nothing happens. Please, recommend me a program for test this mouse...
  14. OMG ... I really like Activision Games..
  15. Try to see the schematics of your computer. (Check the zip attached file) Get composite video from any 8 bit computer, wouldn't be to hard. Only try to identify the sync signal, lumas and chroma. This signals together makes the composite video. You need to hack your 400 computer Below, i post an schematic for get composite video from an Atari 2600, use it like an a idea when you merge the signals. 400/800 Series, and 600XL doesn't have monitor output. 400.zip
  16. Try to buy an "Made in Taiwan" ATARI Computer. I have a lot of 65xe's and 800xl's, and the more confortable keyboard comes from the 800XL. And, DONT BUY A "MADE IN CHINA" 65/130 Machine!!!, the keyboard sucks!!!
  17. This poor cartridge is affected by the direct sunlight, for several weeks!
  18. http://www.electroflash.org.nz/images/npn.gif (for transistor schematics) http://www-ece.rice.edu/~jdw/figs/2n3904b.jpg (for real transistor) Check this two images And the MPS2222A can work but i don't try it, because in Chile, only the 2N2222 is available... And remember, get the signals from the TIA chip !!! ( 2 5 7 8 ) And... http://www.cheeptech.com/2600mods/2600mods.shtml (to see where to get chroma and audio)
  19. Hi... Try to save the cassette in your computer in .wav format. (with the line-in of yuor SoundCard and some sound capture software, like Sound Recorder). With Wav2Cas utility, you can inmortalize your old cassete in a digital format. wav2cas.zip
  20. + You need get the signals from TIA chip, pins 2,5,7,8. + The 510 Ohm resistor will works fine... And... http://www.cheeptech.com/2600mods/2600mods.shtml (to see how to get chroma) Para los que no saben interpretar bien el transistor : http://www.electroflash.org.nz/images/npn.gif (for transistor) http://www-ece.rice.edu/~jdw/figs/2n3904b.jpg (for transistor)
  21. For best performance, get the signals direct from the TIA chip. (2,5,7,. Part List R1 1,5 Kilo Ohms R2 2,7 Kilo Ohms R3,R4 5,6 Kilo Ohms R5 39 Kilo Ohms R6 500 Ohms R7 22 Ohms R8 100 Ohms Q1 Transistor 2N3904 (if you use 2N2222 you can get more optimal results) Enjoy!
  22. How can I connect my Atari 800XL to my TV's DVD input (Y Pr Pb)? When I connect the Video Out signal from my Atari to the Y input, the screen looks only in black and white.
