Most games only need kickstart. They autoboot once kickstart has loaded in memory.

Loose a1000 keyboard maybe hard to come by. Like other loose amiga keyboards, they can be pretty expensive. I had a broken a500, so i hacked the keyboard so i could use it on my cd32. Still regret the day i gave away my a1000. I didn't know i needed a floppy with kickstart to run it. So i gave it away.

Loved simtower, but was never good enough to get a good working tower. Always ran out of elevators.

Don't why they decided to release US games in cardboard boxes. Over here in Europe, only the first released games came in cardboard. Later on they switched to plastic boxes, much nicer. I keep the boxes in storages now, since i use my multicart.

Das problem ist das das alle us title sind. Den PAL markt ist ganz anders. Die Sammler hier sind nicht so verruckt um soviel fur ein spiel zu zahlen. Fur PAL spiele gibt es auch kaum rariteitsliste.

Guess most Dragon users would be in the UK, since they didn't sell really well on the main continent. I do love my videopac, but it has to be noted that the last years a lot of multicarts have been released. I have 1 multicart and for me that's more then enough for me. That doesn't mean others wouldn't want to buy it. I do love the idea of using a single cart for multiple systems. Keeps the cost down. But i don't like barebone pcb solutions. I have a cpc464 cart, and really love that thing, but i miss a shell for it. If i'm correct somebody did design a shell for it and released the files in public so one could print one if you would have a 3d printer. Still need to find somebody with a printer that can print one shell for me. Like MJB and scotty said, videopac.nl would be the place to post this. I guess you wouldn't have a problem selling some 30 units without a problem. The other 20 i don't know.

What cable do you use? Do you use a scartcable connected to the monitor port? Are you sure you're amiga is in NTSC mode? I have my amiga hooked up to my tv using a scart to monitor cable, and i have no problem running it on my tv. But i live in a Pal region, so scart is pretty common here, don't know if there is some diverence between a Pal scart and a Ntsc scart connector.

You could use a floppy emulator. It's not the best option, but it's not to expensive. I bought a gotek clone from China that had jumpers inside to set it to 720k. Had to change some other setting, otherwise i got a disk offline error. But it works with my msx2. I write the dsk files to a flashdisk and then i can use them. Since you have a msx1 you cannot use this option, since you don't have a diskcontroller. I'm also looking for the megaflash option, but the steep price keeps me from buying it yet.

Well it ain't Dutch, sounds more like German. But anyway, here is a video from Phil's Computerlab that pretty much covers it all. U need to format the drive into partitions of 1.44 mb. Some models kan also emulate a 720kb drive, but not all. I use ome of suchs drives in my MSX2 computer, and after thinkering with the settings i have it running and it works really great.

Just stumbled across a cdi got some questions...
Seob replied to Dripfree's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You can try and find a remote controller, if you don't have a 450 or 550 model, since those haven't got ir built in. It's not the best controller, but i guess they aren't that expensive. At least you can try out some games. The cd-i doesn't have a copy protection, so you can try out whatever game you want. The only thing that you may need to play some games is the dv cartridge. Since some use the extra memory for sound or video. I to like the cd-i a lot. So check games for yourself, a lot of people just use the zelda games to say all games on the cd-i are bad. Like mentioned above, the apprentice is a good game, i also like mutant rampage, other good games are lucky luke the videogame, cristmas crisis, burn:cycle, secret mission, flashback to name a few. -
I have sold a few odyssey2 prototypes to fund buying my phat ps3 bc system. And i never had regrets. They where just laying arround in a box, so i sold them. I can still play the games on my multicart, so no loss there. I just don't own the carts anymore. I was like, if i keep the games, and for no reason they stop working, they don't have much value anymore. And i want a new console so i can play the new games. I have put hours and hours in my ps3, against maybe 5 minutes top looking at those carts.

Pre-crash systems are slowly being forgotten.

It depends how you raise you're kids. From time to time, i will play a laurel and hardy movie for my kids 7 and 5 and they love it. Also chaplin is a good favorite, also because of the netflix animated serie. -
Stupid Things You Hear Collectors Say
Seob replied to MotoRacer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Like i said, before, if it wasn't for the internet, i wouldn't have a direct comparison, so i'm fine with what i got. Also you make it as if all games are developed in either japan or the us. But a lot of game are also developed in europe, so maybe you don't experience all the games as they where intended.Point is stop acting like you're native format is the only way games should be experienced. Let everybody experience games how they want and accept that there are more ways to enjoy gaming, and stop calling it stupid if somebody is fine with the way they enjoy playing games. -
No pics? Why start a topic and then post no pictures.

Stupid Things You Hear Collectors Say
Seob replied to MotoRacer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
And why would that be stupid? Maybe ntsc games are cheaper, but factor in the cost of shipping and all that cheapness is undone.Btw there are plenty of titles that are cheaper here then the us relative, like stadium event. Games run faster on ntsc, but why would i care, i'm living in a PAL country, i don't have a direct comparision, so i wouldn't notice the diverence. So why would it be a stupid thing if a collector says he is used to it. -
Stupid Things You Hear Collectors Say

I live in the Netherlands, and console gaming wasn't that big at the time. Most people looked at a console and said, if i pay 50 more i get a computer that can do more, and can be used for homework. Most people where gaming on the c64 or a msx computer, they where the most populair homecomputers in my area. Later on people moved to the amiga, some to the st, and most to pc's due to the pc at home projects a lot of companies had. Most consoles i did see in the early days where the a2600 or the philips videopac. Later the Sega mastersystem took over. If i recall both the mastersystem and the megadrive sold better than the Nintendo offers. -
Theft-proofing consoles,etc for conventions?
Seob replied to S1500's topic in Classic Console Discussion
That's true they are way expensive. Sadly even at small conventions people loose stuff because a few none collectors just come in with no other reason then to steal.
