I don't think the first to are cga graphics. they may have just 4 colors but that doesn't make it cga. If i recall it correctly cga had white, black, magneta and cyan as possible colors. I was really glad that we didn't have a color monitor whit our first pc. It was a 286 with a whole megabyte of memory and a whopping 20 mb harddrive, and a 3.5"hdd diskdrive and cga. I allways looked at the monochrome colors and was thinking how much better the graphics where in monochrome over color in cga. Ega was a lot better with colors. That was the first card where the graphic started to look nice on a pc.

I want to add the orginal gameboy. Man looking at the really bad screen makes i still cant figure out why they outsell the lynx and game gear. I can still remember trying to see something on screen while playing on a gameboy, holding it in impossible ways just to see something on screen. I was really glad that when i had the money to buy a portable on my own i decided to buy a game gear.

Went to a fleamarket on thursday and picked up: NES Rad Racer with 3d goggels for 5 euro SMS Summer Games 2,50 euro SMS Global Defense 2,50 euro

i.m.o. you should keep it. Cause it's not nice for the other person who had been bidding for the coleco just to find out that someone took it away in front of his nose the very last second. I really hate this. It happend to me a few times that i was over bid just seconds before the action closed. Since i work in the field, i can only access the internet when i'm home. And so i can't really stay on focus on a item. I think when you bid on something you must be sure u want it, otherways don't bid on the item and let someone who really wants it get hold of it.

Great find. Yesterday i got a cardboard box from a philips coffeemachine, with 14 videopac games in it, carts only. After going trough the pile i discoverd 4 carts that didn't have the usual label on it. 3 had a little sticker on them, with a typewriter text on them saying the games name. After some research on the web i found out that it had to be protos. They where - robot city - nightfighter - martian treath - air battle ? This didnt have a label on it but the game looked similar to the 58 game air battle. Never thought i would own some protos

I really like the system. And here in the netherlands it was sold a lot. So you could play it easily at friends back then. It really has some nice games, and given the fact that there aren't that many games for the system 100- it is a nice system to get a complete collection of. There arent that many game for it, but there aren't that many bad games for the system. Hence, one of the reasons for the videocrash of '84 was the vast amout of crap games released for the 2600. So the 2600 may have a larger amout of games released for it, it also has many, many more bad games. Just as for the playstation. I really like all my old systems, and play every one of them every once in a while. But the one i play most is my videopac (o2).

Just to make it complete. If one would ever consider to buy a gbc, then never ever buy a transparent one. When i bought my gbc i bought one transparent cause it looked cool. After 1 day i return it to the shop because it was to difficult to play games on it cause the whole surface acts like a mirror. You can't hardly see anything on the screen when playing under a light. I got a green one in sted and still use it every now and then. For the record i bought the GBC some 7 years after i bought a Gamegear. Back then i cound't play on a GB because the screen was way to bad. For the battery problems, i allways use rechargeable batterys way better for your pocket. And most of all i just play near a wall socket so i can use a power adapter.

I used to like Indiana Jones for the GG, It's the only game i've played to the end. @Spector There must be a couple of those for the gameboy from different manufactors. I have a GB smart, and it's a great way to test games.

You could also make a print of the labels you have and put it in a map so you have easy access, and overview of all your games. You could also give it some sort of index, so if you look in the map and want to take a closer look to a cart, you can find them easy in the drawers or where ever you store them. I store them in seperate boxes that i bought at ikea theyre made of cardboard with metal corners to make them stronger.

Do you have portable games stashed all over?
Seob replied to shadow460's topic in Classic Console Discussion
When i did software upgrades to the atm to accept euro's, i took my gameboy color with me and played zelda when the atm was upgrading. Had half an hour of playing time for each atm. Man that was great earning money when playing games . -
Just a little question, how is the status of the project.

Great day. Found my self a 5 euro copy of the blobbers nr 57 for videopac. It was in a pile of games that came along with a heavily beaten videopac g7000 console. He asked 30 euro for the hole pack, 11 games + the videopac. Since i didn't want to spend 30 euro for only 2 games that i didn't have yet: nr 57 and the nr 53. I thought leave it there. So i drank a cup of coffee with my dad. After that i thought i will have a go in trying to get the games loose. So i went back and i asked him if he would sell it apart. I was saying that at a lokal game shop he saw these games go away for a lot of money. After a few moments he said that he wanted 5 euro for each game. Since i had only 8 euro with me i tryed to get them both for 8. But he wanted to get 5 euro each. So i only bought the nr 57. What a great decision i made there, seems it's one of the thougher games to get for the videopac. After that we went to an other fleemarket there i found a pile of 7 atari 2600 carts for 3 euro so i bought them, along with it where kangaroo, jungle hunt, 32 in 1, qbert, mouse trap, ms. pacman and pacman.

What Killed Sega Saturn & Dreamcast?
Seob replied to Atariboy2600's topic in Classic Console Discussion
And because of that amount of processors the saturn had, its dual hitachi's, it was harder to program for then the ps1. So more and more develpers where switching to sony because they could make more games in less time for it. Also the reason why there are so many crap titles for the ps1. -
Man wished i came across a saturn for $8 dollar. They are not easy to find in the wild here. Got this week a psx first model, with the extra video and audio outputs, although somebody must have needed a ps1 laser unit cause it's gone. And i got a Philips VG8020 MSX.

What Killed Sega Saturn & Dreamcast?
Seob replied to Atariboy2600's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I also think piracy wasn't the main problem causing the DC to die. Here in the Netherlands it's very hard to find an orginal unmodded PS1. You could easy rent a game at a videostore and copy it. Where i never saw an DC title in the whole store, they had over 100 ps1 games. No what really killed the DC and Saturn was really bad marketuing from Sega. They had to much competion between Sega of America and Sega of Japan. Both wanted to go in a differt direction when they released the 32x and Saturn. That they didn't see what the public was demanding. Because Sega did spread over to much diferent systems at that time Genesis with sega-cd, 32x and saturn. The buyers didn't know anymore what to get. Let alone the cost of a sega-cd and 32x expension. When you bought those and saw that only a few games worth were released on them, why didt you want to invested more money in a Saturn, when you didn't know if Sega would come up with yet another system. -
Thx for the update

When they can get money for it they will. All exclusive title u see hardly anywhere. Sure there are a few that where designed by there one studio, but most of the games from 3rd party suppliers aren't that exclusive anymore. For a few month they will be, but after that they will start cashing by releasing it on other platforms. About the violence in game: i really think it is stupid that people are complaining and want to get games out of the shelf just because it contains voilience. Why: because it is stupid that u can't buy a game that containce voilence, while on the other hand you can buy weapons in shops, or see movies that contain more realistic voilience. And why are those voiliend games selling so good. Just because they get lots, and lots of free publicitie because an stupid group, want it to get it out of the shops.

Sequel to Classic ColecoVision Games
Seob replied to ColecoNation's topic in Classic Console Discussion
In my opion no game needs a sequel. Most sequels now are rused out, just to pocket money. Seeing what happed with driver. So even for our beloved classic games i don't want a sequel. The old games are just perfect. -
