  1. I would say the 1200 is the better choice, because it's backwards compatible and also allows you to play aga games and if i'm correct with a cd-rom player you also be able to play cd32 games. You can get a harddisk so that you don't have to swap a lot of disks, because a lot of games came over multiple disks. And if you're very lucky you could get a processor upgrade board that slots into the a1200 turning it into a a4000 with extra memory. A friend of mine has that setup and it is really the fastes amiga i've seen. A turbo card like the: Blizzard 1260
  2. It really pays of to have a dad working on a scrapyard :-). After years of training him in spotting videogames hard/software he is now abel to spot some really nice thing. Today he got me a: Sega Megadrive model 1 (didn't have this one, had the model II) 13 videopac games: no 2, 4, 5, 8, 11, 15, 29, 32, 34, 35, 38, 40 and 43. I had only the 38 allready so this is a really nice find. And a pair of asus 3d glasses. Does somebody have a good idea what to do whit those glasses?
  3. Just a little question. Today a got a second copy of sonic the hedgehog for mastersystem, i check the carts if they are the same and i see that one was "made in japan" like all the other mastersystem cards i own, and the second one saying "made in china". Did Sega manufactor more card in China?
  4. I think santa was on late duty this year. Yesterday when i got back from my photoclub, there was a bag outside my door with a sega mastersystem 2, complete with 2 controllers, powersupply and rf switch with build in alex the kid, a loose sonic cart, and complete boxed with manual: asterix and the secret mission, golfamania and super monaco gp. Man and i still don't know who has dropt it there. This they may do to me every day :-).
  5. Just one thing more, before buying a gamegear, check if the sound still works. A lot of GG have a fault, where there's no sound availible on the onboard speaker. The only way to get sound is to use a headset, or you have to do some work on your GG to exchange a capisitor that is causing the problem.
  6. I see them more then anything else that's avaible as an upgrade/expension for anykind of console, so there just too common.
  7. I just buy games for every system i own. If they are cheap i will buy them, even if i don't own the system yet. But i think i like the sega collection the most.
  8. I own both systems and have the lynx model 1 and 2. I like them both, maybe the gamegear more because i used to have one back in the days. For display i must say that i find the display of a gamegear more bright than that of the lynx. The lynx one reflects lights more and is therefor sometime dificult to see on. But that's just my opinion.
  9. Got today, sega rally 2 and sonic advantures for dreamcast blockout and california games for megadrive wave race 64 all together for 25 euro and yesterday i bought Nights into dreams and sega rally for saturn for 10 euro. If only i could get my hands on a saturn and dreamcast console :-(.
  10. I've got today a Laser 2001, which my dad saved from the scrapyard. It's boxed with 2 controllers and 2 taped games. Unfortunlay i don't have the powersupply or a tape drive to test the system. Does somebody one this system and can you tell me the pin layout of the power supply.
  11. Insted of a commodore 1701 or 1702 there is also an execelent monitor from Philips the CM8833. It can be compared by quility to an commodore monitor. But is as with the commodore monitors a bit hard to find here in the Netherlands.
  12. I like both. Can't say i have a favorite. I like to play them as much as i like to play a a2600 or videopac. And for the controller issue, they are all bad for your hands. Playing for 20 minutes with a a2600 controller isn't a blessing either. Ergonomicly are the current gamecontrollers way better. (all though i have my thougt on the Nintendo Revolution controllers).
  13. Classic gaming is for me playing the games i loved playing. So it's everything from Pong to the ps2 for me. And every system will become a classic system after a while. All though one system may have more followers than other systems like the videopac or the virtual gameboy.
  14. I really like the amiga 500 system, all thoug i never owned one back then. Had to go to friends to play on them. They where really great at sound and movie editing. I don't know wher you live but here in europe it was a really populair system. I have now 3 amiga 500 systems, 1 that 1 have payed for 5 euro. and 2 that i have gotten for free. With the last one i got a harddisk to. I now have a really nice collection, with a memory upgrade, a520 tv modulator, a harddisk and a action replay card. As a monitor i use a philips. It's really the best monitor i have with ttl support, scart, cinch a as a bonus you can watch tv on it with a seperate tvmodulator. I would say to you buy it, because it is a really great system.
  15. Man that's a really dirty keyboard. I'll bet your fingers stick onto the key's like glue. If my keyboard was that dirty, i allready would have bought a new one.
  16. I find it hard to get manuals for unboxed games. I lookes like most people throw away the game box with the manuals in them. One system where it is harder to get a game without a manual or box must be the Oddessy 2. Maybe because that system just had a great hard box to store and hold the game in.
  17. Beach-head Summer/winter games Skool Daze
  18. I really cant vote. I just like videogames. And every system has + and -, but i just can't choose. There are a lot of systems i don't own that are on the list, but since i never played on them i can't say if i like em or not. The only system i can think of that has a chance that i would vote for, has to be the original gameboy. Not for it's games, because they are great, but because of the very bad display. U need a lot of light to play on it.
  19. I find a lot of them, more then i find 2600 games anyway. But they are often to expensive to buy for me. And besides i own a programmable gameboy cart so i don't have to buy them. I like to spent my money rather on older homesystems or the gamegear and lynx.
  20. A sweet thougt, we used to play Pac-man from MB, back then it was the closes i could get by owning a computergame.
  21. The Schneider CPC464. Because most of the games i played on them, where games that where listed in magazines, and i always feels a bit special to play a game that you "created".
  22. Went to a guy today where i used to work with. He had some stuff for me: 2 atari 2600 black, 1 2600 Jr. rev a. 1 coleco gemini 1 msx mouse Loose cart for 2600: Demon attack, Cosmic ark,Galaxian, Missile command, pac-man, ms. pac-man, Pitfall II, Video Olympics, Solar Fox, Action man Action Force and Frogger. And a Philips :YES a 80186 pc. All for nothing. And he maybe having a Amiga CD32 for me to :-).
  23. The only thing i always see is that the heads at Atari, where the worst business man on the planet. They are one of the few on earth that can make a million dollar company in to a broke company, that makes error after error. Sadly enough.
  24. I'm not that interested in specs of the machines. It really doesn't matter to me if a certain system is faster then an other. The only thing that's important are the quality of the games. I both like the NES and the SMS, they both have games that are really good on the system. I can't say that i find a NES controller better than a SMS. They are both to small to hold good in my hands. And playing with them alway results in stopping with gaming after 30 minutes of play because my hands get stiff holding those non-ergonomic controllers.
  25. The games specialy made for the O3 are very expensive. Take a look at this site: Northwinds 175,- euro for TRANS AMERICAN RALLY. That's a lot of money.
