  1. Sorry these are late! Trying to get caught up 14900
  2. Thanks P/M! Your podcast was one of our inspirations! I was the same way--peoples' ability on Youtube is consistently amazing.
  3. 1200XL returns this week with Miner 2049er! We talk about Bill Hogue's early years as a Radio Shack employee, his first programming efforts on the TRS-80, and the fact that Bounty Bob's first adventure retailed at a staggering $49.95 on release! Special thanks to @Savetz for his illuminating interview with Mr. Hogue on the ANTIC podcast and @therealbountybob, of course Subscribe here: https://anchor.fm/1200xl
  4. Unless you really want a cartridge, I would personally recommend an SDrive-MAX, as it's the best solution for ATR files, which are going to give you the widest availability of games.
  5. 66600. This game is much more difficult than I remembered!
  6. Yeah, it's hard to imagine why someone would choose a CoCo3 over a Tandy 1000 in the mid-late 80s.
  7. Yeah, Ed has been saying he's been working on something. I doubt it will be a full-on system replacement with keyboard and everything like the ZX Next, though. Production costs for injection molding are just too high without a huge fanbase.
  8. It's hard to believe we're in year five of doing the Amigos show! And we've still got tons of great games to cover. Buggy Boy is unique-a time-trial, flag collecting race to the finish with slalom-like time extending gates. Where does it stand in the pantheon of racers on the Amiga? Find out what we think on this week's episode! Podcast Audio Link
  9. Amiga Ireland 2020 was great! I was able to document most of the event, including some great panels. You can check them out here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaD3XRYu1lQSjxSINk5_FoiBtbwZTl95f
  10. I think it's got everything to do with distribution. Though there were tons of Radio Shacks back in the day, it was at the manager's discretion how much or little CoCo presence there was in each store. It also hurt the platform that RS was too cheap to license ports of popular titles.
  11. I apologize again for the lack of updates-it's been all systems go on our newest show, 1200XL. But The CoCo Show is still rocking and rolling! Super Pitfall is definitely the weakest entry in the series, but does it deserve its infamous reputation? Find out what we think on this week's The CoCo Show, a TRS-80 Color Computer podcast! You can subscribe to all the The CoCo Show podcast here: https://anchor.fm/thecocoshow and of course there's always the Youtube version.
  12. That made me think--did the XEGS launch with any original titles? Or had they all been available before? Was the reworked Mario Bros. in conjunction with the XE launch?
  13. I think it looks great @Wilheim. Custom labels are a great way to express your creativity and to explore an alternate reality where some of these titles did get XE-specific releases. Please post more as you make them!
  14. I have looked into HSC in the past, but it just seems like a lot of work for all but the most hardcore. Why not just have a game of the week, pin it to the top of this forum (not a subforum) and post the results at the end of the week? Anything with multiple "rounds" is a turnoff for anyone who would like to play casually.
  15. Thanks for the feedback! I agree about the quality of the video-it is quite poor. I'll try and find better examples in the future, or just record my own.
  16. That makes sense. I was wondering if it had to do with actual acoustical properties in temperament, if such a thing exists with synthesized sound.
  17. I have always thought that in some instances notes sounded flat through POKEY, particularly the M.U.L.E. theme. Listening to the ANTIC interview with Bill Hogue yesterday, he confirmed that this had to do with the nature of the chip itself. Is there an article/post on here where this is talked about in more detail? I tried searching but didn't get anywhere other than just references to POKEY music sounding out of tune.
  18. If you could have that exact collection, would you keep it as-is? I just don't see the point of having multiple (well, maybe more than two) NIB systems of the same type. Same goes for drives, etc. I know things wear out, but having one backup+infinite backups you can purchase any time on eBay, I'd like to see the others go to other collectors who can enjoy them.
  19. I'm sorry you didn't like it. We always have a little banter at the beginning of our shows. I can understand how that might not be for everyone though. We have a Youtube version of the show as well:
  20. Hi everybody, my buddy Aaron and I have started a new podcast about our favorite Atari 8-bit games. Since we started Amigos (an Amiga podcast) about five years ago, we've been itching to talk about our favorite games on the machine that's basically its father (or mother, whichever). Our first episode is on Blue Max. We plan on releasing new episodes every two weeks or so. Here is a link to our page on Anchor, on which you can find links to individual podcatchers. https://anchor.fm/1200xl You can also plug this RSS feed into the podcatcher of your choice. https://anchor.fm/s/1428ad98/podcast/rss We hope you enjoy the show!
  21. Sorry guys. I guess you know you hit the bigtime when your feed gets hijacked! ? You may need to un and re-subscribe, but the issue should be resolved. Thanks for the heads up @Laner
  22. Glad you guys have been enjoying the shows! I've neglected to update here as they've come out-I apologize! We're up to Episode 6 now, where we just got done talking about The CoCo Show Episode 6 - The Sands of Egypt / Buzzard Bait. Check it out! https://anchor.fm/amigospodcast/episodes/The-CoCo-Show-Episode-6---The-Sands-of-Egypt--Buzzard-Bait-e9h2lg
  23. Not only does he have one of the lamer names in Amiga history, but his pneumatic weapon isn't a weapon at all! https://anchor.fm/amigospodcast/episodes/Amigos-Episode-226---PP-Hammer-and-his-Pneumatic-Weapon-e9ct0f
  24. There's a disk image of almost everything "iconic" these days.
