I can see Tommy getting up on the virtual stage and doing a Video games Live type show.. Have Bruce Boxleitner  read through all the announcements. Maybe make a cool stage at a warehouse in LA someplace.

Have a bombshell of announcement at the end of the show.  Something that has not been talked about anywhere.

The question of if we could pre order all 8 physical games with our FE or VIP is interesting. The only concern I would have is a box being damaged in shipping. It would be super exciting to get all of the games with the console without having to seek them out.

I too am a bit concerned about damage during shipping.

I'd like to make sure retail gets some of the love as well. I f nothing else but to keep them incentivized to keep the Amico on the shelves. I may do a combo of online/retail.  Or just purchase all the physical games at the store.

I'm sure by the time it hits the stores, we'll know who/what/where to go. I wonder if there will be exclusives at certain retail chains? You can only get this packaging at Walmart. The physical media/pack in stuff is different at Gamestop. Amazon will have a "special" Steelbox of Earthworm Jim..  OR will the Physical versions of some games be only be available at -insert store here- ?

Here's a really cool article that just came out.  Had some nice things to say like...

"...the forthcoming family-friendly Intellivision Amico is picking up steam..."

    and

"...the Amico seems positioned to be something of a dark horse in the race for consumer’s dollars this upcoming holiday season."

Although the headline for "some" people will be...
"It may look a little bit like an at-home foot spa,"

    :D :D :D

Another fun read.  To me, it sounds more likely than not, that it will come out in October!!! I know.. We'll know by mid-July.

I can already hear the detractors:

Tommy promised 35 games at launch..  20 + 6 pack-in games = 26..  And it goes on from there. ANOTHER BROKEN PROMISE..

I do have a request for @Tommy Tallarico: After the Amico hits shelves, I would like to hear about all the refinements, changes, and everything that you had to do to get it in stores. Behind the curtain. How the component shortages and delay changed things for your team. Not only the bad. But the good. Did it change things like: Physical media? I know this would be a stretch. But what about packaging?  How did it affect the Wouldn't that be somethingTM announcements?  Has it? It would be a fun tale. A  little video documentary. Or just in chat form on one of OEB Pete's shows. I think it would find an audience.  I know I'd watch it!

In some ways, the delay(s) have given you the opportunity to rethink/redesign/redo some things on the physical side. I know you mentioned that the team was working on sound deadening. If I recall you may mount a foam like pad under where the controllers will sit. For those who don't know, the foam will make it sound less hollow when you put the controller in the console. While some may scoff at this.  I do not think that this is a trivial thing. The look, feel, and sound of a product all lend to the overall appeal of a product.  Feel the difference between a real Xbox/PS controller vs the cheap knock offs. They certainly look the same at first glance. Within a second of holding/using you can really tell the difference. Especially when you use it for a while and it starts to creak/squeak.

Did I mention that I like the new version of the color?!?! I will probably end up purchasing this in the store after it becomes more available.  That is the main reason I only have have one on order. If controllers are available at the store, I may do the same for them. Get them at the store. If they will be constrained, I'll end up per-ordering.   As with everything else, I'm sure Tommy will tell us. :)

This brings up a question of redesigning. With the 2(to 4) components that you may have to find alternates for, I would assume that you will have to go through a large round of testing all over again. I think you Had mentioned it on one or two of the shows that Tommy was on. A slight redesign of the motherboard would probably have to be done.  If you go that route, are there other components that you have barely enough of, that you may reconsider and swap out for something a little more available?

I would guess it would come down to the cost/benefit of: Do you release and eat the cost/risk of not finding those components after your initial shipment? Can a rev B model come out within a few months while you are starting to recognize revenue?  Is that worth all the extra effort/cost that will have to go into testing every game that comes out? Even if they are simple components, I would assume testing has to be done on each hardware revision.  I could go on about different scenarios.

All that for .. NICE PURPLE!!

I do the same thing when trying to toss anything into a small target.  Do it as a self calibration on the weight/mass of the object I’m throwing. Assume this to be similar with some corn hole players.

kinda like taking a practice swing in golf.

So if I throw myself up in the air a little bit and spin around.. it will

    1)Self Calibrate me.

    2)Distribute weight evenly around.

I guess we are all going in business together for self-help and weight loss. If people act quickly, we can throw in a Juice Tiger!

That artwork for Bi-Planes looks so good.  I can't wait to see how the artwork will look for the Atari games & Imagic games on Amico.

What I'd love to see is Different type of artwork for each of the Retro Reimagined.  For INTV games, stick with the updated versions of the original artwork, like they seem to be doing. With the different color boxes. For Atari games, updated Atari Artwork. Same stylized art. Keep the multicolored boxes.  Imagic, should have Silver boxes with photo-realistic toys/other things on the cover. When Activision inevitably comes on board, Same thing. Sort of like what Audacity games is doing.

Speaking of Audacity Games - Circus convoy Reduxe/Enhanced/Ultra on Amico?!?!?!

  7. My first Cornhole (in the wild) sighting!!!

    image.thumb.png.0c5ea0f3d89b148c42431fc03ba5da1e.png

I was out for a walk, early in the morning this weekend.. Saw this.  I don't know these people, but I will go ahead and earn my shill Check this week and let them know about Amico. :)

That brings up a question about the play mechanics of the game itself: I've noticed that every player in the ACL, before tossing the beanbag, will fling the bag in the air a few inches and spin it around a few times. I'm sure there is a "professional" term for it.  But everything that I type makes the 12 year old me... Giggle.  Will this play mechanic be included in the game? I know its not really essential for the game But just wondering.  I assume that is a reason and its more than just a nervous tick with everyone. Distributing weight evenly around the bag? Flattening the bag for better aerodynamics? Or are they just having fun?

@Tommy Tallarico My ShillShow Check didn't come this week.  Not to worry. I'll drive into the office and get it. I have to be in SLC in a little while anyway. :)

  9. Let's all judge this unfinished product shall we?!?!?!

    image.thumb.png.4d71e04a704be2beb9157297a8dd6ac7.png

Looks kinda silly now.. Nothing real exciting to see for most people.. And totally unfinished. The die hard fan of the above product gets 5 kinds of excited because of the potential they are seeing.  The people who don't like this kind of product were "meh".  Or said that it's not "cinema".  Go see my 3 hour yawn-fest instead. There are no green-screens there. You don't need to see this kind of film. Mine kind of films are better.  The films you like are bad.

My point is: We never really saw the above image and videos until AFTER the finished product came out.

Right now, we've been seeing a whole lot of this sort of stuff on the Amico. Games and hardware at this stage of production. Some a little later into it. Some, not quite ready for the prite-time. Not interesting to most people.  Seeing things at this stage, the haters say "Look how crappy it looks or plays".  To others,a whole lot of fun to watch and talk about. We currently are at over 1200  pages and going strong on this forum. Back to my thoughts: I didn't expect to see the above screen when I walked into a theater. I expected a finished product.  They had to go through this process to get it to the theaters.  If I'd seen the above image BEFORE it came out, I was pretty sure I would like it based on the 21 previous films. Not all great. Some  could, arguably, be called bad. But due to the track record of the people behind the scenes. I expected to have fun. And I did!

When I see the people Tommy has surrounded himself with. I see a ton of veterans. Great track records in releasing products that I like. Most of which I have put my hard-earned cash into. I believe that I can expect the same thing when it arrives on my doorstep..  A finished product that is fun to use!   Hopefully before 10/10 as I have one on pre-order.   :)

3 - Shows a big enemy on the screen. Great color

6 - Shows many things on the screen at the same time. And clearly a "different level",and play mechanic

5 - Shows different kinds and sizes of enemies on the screen. Clearly a "different level."

A few runner ups as well. But I like the idea of not having the same color palette across all screenshots.

  12. @Tommy Tallarico I have a fun few questions for you. Both are about the same. Just a different angle:

1)Regardless of sales figures and publishers. Are there any games that you personally want to, or trying to get the rights to, bring out on the Amico that you have not mentioned yet?

2)Along those same lines - Are there games that you want,  that are already in development that you have not told us about?

We know you want ET/Pitfall/Tron. ETC.

I'm not asking for names. Just wanted to know if there are any in either category that you have not mentioned..... YET.

It's mostly from the marketing nostalgia standpoint. . .this was the era before "diet" sodas (Coca-Cola produced it) were mainstream. In the late 1960's and early 1970's, people were just starting to become aware of the health dangers of high sugar intake, obesity and related health issues. So Tab was marketed as a healthier soft drink option, but not as a "diet" drink. By the early 1980's "dieting" hit fad status and Coca-Cola introduced Diet Coke. However, Tab still appeared in popular culture, appearing in WarGames, one of the Rambo movies, and was a running gag as an obsession of Brian Posehn's character in the TV sitcom Just Shoot Me, among other things. That was probably mostly to increase appeal among younger consumers who didn't see a need to consume Diet Coke at a younger age.

You are wrong on all counts... It was the commercial with the girl walking on the beach. The rest did happen. But it was all about that commercial. :)

This was on the radar  in the category of " I need to see more in order to make a decision."  After watching the video, it's still not on the "Have to buy" list. Yet.  When I see a later build, I'm sure I'll like it even better. I love that Tommy was confident enough in a1 year old build, to show it off to the general publi.  I also chuckled  at the mentioning of the wall lag... (Wal-Lag-Gate... It'll be a thing)

Who am I kidding,  once the lag is fixed on the wall.. I'll end up buying it.

You mean the 2600 game?  That would be a lot of fun!

Yes. The Sequel isn't bad. (Return to Haunted House). There was a Wii remake of it. Not horrible either.. Not Great. The original still is a lot of fun.I especially loved the fact that you were two eyes wandering around in the dark.  Just like in the cartoons. Not to mention that the game was a lot of fun to play.  I was hoping that there would be some others that loved  Haunted House like I did.

Mmmm...despite it being a pack in, Astro's Playroom "feels" like the first PS5 game in a way that the game just wouldn't be the same on a PS4.

I stand corrected on RnC.  Having not played either, I'm only going by what I see on the interwebs. :).  But unlike other people who need to dunk on the Amico,  if contradictory info heads my way, I have no issue in correcting myself. LOLs. If, and when, the PSVR2 is announced as backward compatible.. I'll be a happy Camper.

And at the same time, I'm looking forward to the Amico! Fingers crossed that we see a little bit of Tempest re-imagined soon. Adventure. And many more...

  17. Not Amico but still cool.  Ratchet and Clank is the first game that FEELS like next Gen.

Plus it looks like it has DEVO in the soundtrack. So it can't be all bad :) The inclusion of them really makes me want it now.

@Tommy Tallarico - I'd love to see Devo have their own game or just contribute to something on the Amico. Same for the Residents. Not quite sure how kid friendly it could be, but still fun.
