    NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another one to print out and hang in our hallway with the Han in carbonite!

Finally catching up...  Meant to do this earlier...

AM2-D2- A very sturdy and dependable controller droid. He (She?) has many hidden features that no one knows about. Leading me to a question for @Tommy Tallarico - Have you disclosed all the cool features of the controller or hardware in general? Or are there still some surprises lurking under that LCD (LED?) panel? Or possibly under the hood of the console itself? Curious droids want to know.

I was going to get a second power cord (hopefully via pre-order) as I wanted to be able to move my Amico between the Living Room and another room; with the above, realize I’ll need a 3rd for when I take Amico on the road.

I have a few pages to catch up on. I’m on  vacation and am trying to get up to date. Just had to comment on this. Don’t forget to purchase the flip up OLED Screen for those road trips. Just in case you. See to play cornhole while driving.

There is something about this design that just hits me in the feels.. I love this. Then i got to thinkin' what about making the touchpad touchscreen so it would be easier to manufacture and no multiple parts/tooling needed? It may only drive the cost of parts up a tiny bit. I stopped after I realized I needed to thank @Tommy Tallarico for these sorts of tangents in my brain. I was always interested in the actual process of manufacturing things that we like to use/play with, but watching Tommy tell us about what they are going through makes me appreciate it more.

About my earlier post regarding the FE.  For those who didn't pre-order a FE, they have to wait until 10/10/21 for the VIP edition and to buy an Amico in store.  I wasn't trying to cause any confusion.  The FE is supposed to release early.

Tommy has mentioned that VIPs may release early as well.. Not as early as the FE's. You all deserve to be first out of the gate! Just wanted to  see if we could get some VIP love as well...  I was going to write that all you VIP'ers need to stop rubbing it n our faces.. But It's hard to write it with the fun that it was intended. I'm sure that SOMEONE would take that as a "split" in the community and it would be on a Youtube video or a Podcast. I can imagine "Growing concerns about the possible launch delay... AGAIN!" type headlines.  "Lag still an issue!" "It's still a scam! See!?!?!? more delays!" are possible other headlines.

  5. A very good video that should put things into perspective. He mentions the Analogue Pocket being delayed.  Also goes into a lot of other areas. He has nothing to do with Amico. I'm not sure if he's even mentioned it ever in his videos.  Just an all around good watch.  Talks about Just in Time manufacturing/shipping. Manufacturing containers. Even the cost of shipping has gone up almost 200%. A ton of interesting points of view. A certain Transparent CEO that posts here once in a while has said most of these talking points for quite a while.  Just a good watch. Highly recommended.

THE MOST IMPORTANT INTELLIVISION AMICO VIDEO SO FAR!!

Another fun video. Loads of people that aren't the "regulars" on this forum. Including families. People addressed ease of use. Responsiveness. Having that mom talk about connecting with their children through video games. That hit home. The controller is the barrier.  There is no way around that. Seeing both young and old have fun makes me smile.  I may have mentioned this a while ago, but Just in case -  I have an autistic son. Anything to help him connect with his mom. She sits through his shows that he likes. JUST to connect. To be able to interact with him and not just sit beside him while watching something would mean a lot. And if she has a chance to keep up with him AND beat him, all the better.

My son's two passions are -  1)Lego. 2)Video Games.  Usually in that order. Unless a new Lego, Pikmin, or Luigi's mansion game come out. Then it gets jumbled.

Who wouldn't like to see some form of Lego License on the Amico? I'm sure something uniquely fun could be done on the system.

Thanks for keeping an eye on the shop for new stuff @Intellivision Master!

The new Amico Pi to Running Man socks are crazy, weird and I love them :)

Another confirmation that the Amico is running on a Raspberry Pi!!! WE knew it!!! LOL.  The socks are mesmerizing though... I believe Tommy has confirmed it's not a Raspberry Pi.. But what about a Banana Pi? Rock Pi? Nano Pi? Beagle Pi? (Should have posted this a few days ago). Great. Now I want dessert!

Seeing that big ass Saturn controller really threw me for a loop!  I forgot how crazy and huge that thing was!

    :)

Grudge... did you notice that when all the small kids were playing that they could hold the controller comfortably?  We spent a lot of time and focus testing designing it for different sized hands!

Found this online for us all to gaze at:

We love our Dreamcasts, how do we all feel about the controller? : dreamcast

To go from that.. to the hand cramping nature of a single joycon controller.. ouch..

Correct.  The demo unit was just a dev kit and isn't really representative of what the final product will look like from a color standpoint.

Yeah... for sure we'll be doing super cool pics and video of all 5 consoles so people can decide before they make their final purchases.

@Tommy TallaricoDid you just drop some news on us?!?!?!   We may be able to choose another color prior to shipping? We are not locked in to the color we chose? Not that I want to change my choice.  But it would be amazing to actually have that choice!!!

Only having one USB C port for expansion kinda limits things, but has any console really had more than one expansion port (I bet one has and I am sure someone on AA will know)?

I can see when this becomes a success, someone making a USB hub in the shape of...  an old school cart? A small Intellivision?  A mini Amico?  A mini 2600? OR something that the Amico can sit on top of. to keep the lines nice and clean.  Maybe the company that will eventually create the intv Cart reader can incorporate the usb hub in it as well. (along with an M.2 and an Atari 2600/7800 slot. Just to be overkill).

No, I don't know if/when that is happening. I'm just saying Wouldn't that be somethingtm?

  11. To all the lucky people that got to lay their hands on a controllers. See the console. Plus the bonus hanging out with Tommy. Congrats! It sounds like it was both fun, and informative.

I do have a semi difficult question for all of you: From what you have seen. And given there will be more optimizations of the games. Do you see any potential issues with the console? limited CPU/GPU Power? Memory? Playing certain games on the controller? The size of the controller?  I don't think durability will be an issue unless you put it in a campfire, or run it over with a mower.  Bear attack? Not trying to add fuel to any negativity fire. I think EVERY system ever has had something about it. Just wonderin'

PS - Every few months I mention Tron or ET in a post.. So I'm sending out vibes that these are still in the potential bucket.  Hoping for a Wouldn't that be somethingtm post soon :)

PPS - I know Tempest is in early works as well. Would love to see at least a screenshot.

    PPSSPP - Adventure too.

    I'll stop there.

Yes his space ship is a flying cassette player.

And the 12 year old me still chuckles at the one liners I can hear (along with the other voices) in my head.

Karla "We are about to die, say I'm lovely"

    Kremmen "OK..... I'm lovely"

Not sure how you could make a family friendly Amico game out of this.  But it would be fun trying!!!!! Not to mention the art style would go well with the Amico.

Just to derail this thread even farther, if you like Airplane!, Hot Shots! or the Naked Gun series make sure you check out these sometimes lesser known movies: Kentucky Fried Movie & Top Secret! both free on Amazon Prime

    "Take him to Detroit"

Keeping it family friendly I won't mention some of the other parts of the movie.

There are a million things from Top Secret -  I will break out in Skeet Surfing every so often.

I also named a Chinchilla after Charlie Sheen's Character in Hot Shots! :)

Yeah... it's getting brutal out there.

Here is a good video on the subject of shortages from a Canadian youtuber that has slightly more subscribers than OEB Pete. A smidge. Overall a good video. Good explanation as to what is happening all across the industries. Plus he is helping out "gamers". And a way to help out local businesses to boot.

Remember us little people when you get to that number of subscribers Pete!!!!!

  15.  Here is the problem with Imagic games is that I like almost all of them. So whatever one I get first is fine by me! But if I had go with an order:

    Demon Attack

    MicroSurgeon

    Beauty and the Beast

What are the chances that they will all be physical releases? (Fingers crossed about paying homage to the Imagic Packaging).

As a Bonus for the next round (in any order).

    Star Voyager

    Dragon Fire

    Cosmic Ark

I could name more on my want list of Imagic games. Just don't want to be greedy.

Still holding out hopes for some StarPath/Arcadia remakes. :)

Great idea!  We could probably do a design that has like 4 rows of inlays!  Maybe like around 20 total!

    OK FOLKS!!!   Next question:

What are your FAVORITE looking inlays!!  Staring the list with the 2 @Urlu Berlu mentioned (Beauty & the Beast was IMAGIC and we don't have merch rights for them just yet).

Again. All the space Overlays..   Bomb Squad. Obviously want some of the licensed games ones.. Never forget Frog Bog!

    Question for everyone here!

We are going to be adding some classic Intellivision box art to the merch store.

Question 1:  Without licensed stuff, which box art would you like to see?  Definitely want the art to look cool.
Right now I have on my list:

    Night Stalker
    Astrosmash
    Shark! Shark!
    SNAFU
    Star Strike
    Utopia

What else?  (keep in mind... no licenses stuff.  That includes stuff like Tron, D&D, Burgertime, Imagic, Pitfall, etc.)

Question 2:  Would you want the size of the art to be the exact size of the box?  (approximately 8 inches long)
Or... would you prefer a bigger style like this:

    1e5881b7e6f4278c9371b53f6c57636adf994504e05ce6aec97ece265ba1e39e.thumb.jpg.21f3c29aa3e4f82d041121d5aaa79b43.jpg

Please let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks!!

First off.. I like the idea of Box art...  I could even see, eventually, both sets of box art. The original and the newly re imagined ones.

As for size. I actually like having the original size box art.  But I will not turn away from the large versions.

Everyone has given some great ideas. So put me down for all the space games!

I'd like to see the intellivoice games be represented, But I'm not sure how much I want a word bubble pointing down that states "It talks"...

Would you consider Hover Force? It's a later title, but I do like the cover.

Buzz Bombers had a nice colorful cover.

Hello, folks! I'm new to Atari Age and I've joined because I'm really interested in the upcoming Intellivision Amico console. I've followed this topic for a couple of months and decided to sign up!

I'm excited about the launch of the console although, like a few other people based in the UK, I've just had my Amico console pre-order cancelled by Amazon UK due to - I believe - a misunderstanding by Amazon Europe of stock allocations. I've seen that Intellivision are working to try and get some more stock for Amazon Europe and I hope this can be achieved!

In the meantime I plan on keeping eyes on this thread and joining in the chat. It's great to see so many folk sharing their thoughts on the console.

I had started to write a Welcome aboard email. I stated that there is a good group of people. Fun. Engaging. AND best of all, all enthusiastic about the console. All are Honest. I actually was going to mention that even Tommy comes in and answers a ton of questions. Keeps us informed. Very Transparent. Almost to a fault.  We all signed up to "learn how the sausage was made".

I got called into a meeting for work and boom... The proof of what i was writing was already posted! Clear that post... Start a new one...

Ask any question. Share your thoughts!!!  Someone here will answer. :)

I believe that was the Ethernet port which got bumped off the design in a late board revision. Normally I would miss it, but the Amico is designed for such no/low bandwidth needs, WIFI is fine.

At one point 2 USB Type A ports were going back there. I think USB2 as far as speed goes. But I could be wrong. They may have been USB3. But it was decided that all could be done through the USBC port. (mr_me beat me by 30 seconds LOL!)
