10/10/21 works for me.. More polish.. Maybe a few more games at launch.(I can hope) 2nd and 3rd wave of games will be further along. (Hopefully) So we'll get a steady stream of new stuff to play. As much as I want the system in my hands and playing it, we can live. I will admit that I am bummed about more waiting for information on Physical games. Packaging. And that 2nd wave after the initial 35 games. Looking forward to more info!!!!

Prior to the Video being released today, I wanted to put the question out there: Are there any plans on having a presence at this years e3? Whatever form it ends up taking.

The controller can be played with the "Dial" on the right side. Left Side. OR even like the old INTV, dial on the bottom/screen on top. That is baked into the system. Every game should be able to do that. I'm sure there are a number of secrets in the console and controller that we have yet to learn.

Physical releases for all... Please and thank you! ET as well. A guy can hope can't he?!?!?

1 hour ago, Intellivision Master said:Thanks for the new video Tommy. Keep them coming. If only you could have shown the controller being used like you did with Finnigan Fox. But anyway, it was a good video overall.
The game is looking good! Loved the Easter Egg... For the first game with an Easter Egg! I'm still wrapping my head around the sideways aspect of it as Breakout has always been a Vertical-type game. That may be just me. I get why, you use up more screen that way. Not everyone can set their TVs Vertical! I'm sure more news and game play videos are on their way. As much as I want to see new stuff, I get why you are only showing things that you have already showcased. You do have to save something for later
I also get why you didn't do more showing off gameplay with people on it. I'm sure that no matter what lag, if any, may be present currently, you would not allow a laggy game/system to be released. Will there be a Tommy Seal of Approval on all games?

It was my understanding that only those in the first 2600 FE group would be the ones that got them early. (Amongst the general public). I know it was kind of slipped in during the conversation. This is just to verify that is the case. If it happens. FANTASTIC! If not, I'd rather get that cleared up before more drama gets rolling.
Whatever the new release date ends up being, cough cough, that will just get the games that more polished. That brings me to a question: Are the games that are slated for launch just going to have that much more time in dev? Or are you going to finish them, and start the next one's?
Looking forward to Wednesday's video from Tommy.

I've already discounted getting the Amico, but adding a spinner would at least get me interested in getting a controller if it also worked on PC. There are breakout clones on Steam I would like to play, but I want to use a spinner, not a regular controller. I want something new, not the same old. Even Astrosmash, which to me looks like it might be fun playing on a phone for a couple of minutes, might become interesting to me if you could play with the spinner.
I'm sure you could work it so you would still be able to use it like a regular dpad (Even I want to see if it is as silky smooth as they profess it is).
If you want a spinner... There are USB spinners available that you can make for not much money. Glenn's retro show store front has some good, inexpensive stuff. Until Arcade 1up can do Tron, I may just make a Tron arcade controller.
While I haven't held the controller in my hand yet. I cannot say how smooth it really is. I'm sure if I drive up to their Salt Lake City office and say "hi', they will just let me play. Ha ha (I think I live about 10 miles south of the office). But back to using the controller. You can use the controller just like a D pad. You don't have to spin it to move.

They have gotten rid of the pixel Art and have gone more like a cartoon like flash game.. In this case, a HIGH-END flash game. Still looks like a blast to play though..
I like to see how the sausage is made, so keep the videos coming!

Love Angry Birds but not sure how you would make that multiplayer (they have an Angry Birds Go that is multiplayer but I think it is a kart game). Thumbs up on bowling & darts too. Also as far as pretty much any card game - yeck yes, bring it on. I think the Amico is a natural for almost all of them.
There was a PSP game that was a blast to play. Not sure how many people remember - Mercury and Mercury Meltdown. I think this sort of game would go quite well on the Amico..

Any chance of seeing physical packaging soon? Easter egg some box art into a video maybe? I know you are saving up some of the Wouldn't That Be Somethngtm payoffs until after you start marketing, but some more hints would be amazing!!!!
On a side note: Is it me? Or is most art from modern games just, meh?

Love the changing seasons. Cool weapons. And we'll get even more polish? It's reminding me of a family friendly Metal Slug. I can get behind that. And a Physical game announcement!!! $20(ish) will be set aside for this day one purchase. Maybe we'll be able to download the soundtrack?!?!?!?

But some of the games you have suggested. And topics as well. Thanks for keeping some of the quieter days more lively!!!!

8 hours ago, seventh sage said:Speaking from the perspective of a retro gamer who also loves indie games, I'm interested in the Amico just for the fact that it is taking a different approach than the other current consoles on the market. I'd rather pay once for a console that will last ~10 years and have it be "underpowered" and see unique games that take advantage of the hardware, rather than paying out the nose for a marginal harware refresh for huge games made by huge teams that are mostly focused on pushing polygons. I'm getting hardware cycle fatigue and don't want a repeat of The Great Console Crash of '83 anytime soon.
I don't think that it's ever been ruled out that 5 or so years down the line An Amico Pro be introduced. OR a 32x type USBc attachment. (I'm sure it will look better than that). Keeping backwards compatibility of course. If the market demands. Depending on what Snapdragon is in the current Amico, we may be more than OK for quite a while. If it's an "off the shelf" version, Devs should be able to take advantage of it. If it happens to be a customized version, we probably have not seen near it's full potential. I also think Tommy and Company have a few tricks up their collective sleeves that we have yet to see. It's just great that we are all part of this process.
We have a fun road ahead.

7 hours ago, CurlyQ said:Also look for a Blue Box....... OOOOO There would be some nice original license to get.. A game with a traveling Blue Box with some people in it... I don' t think that has been on on a console. At least lately.
For the international audience, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlett, UFO, Space 1999. Basically anything Gerry Anderson.
If you want to set the wayback machine for us in the US: Any IP from Sid and Marty Krofft would be ... Colorful. To say the least. Drugs had nothing to do with any of those shows.. Noooo.
I'm sure that there are a metric ton of old 70's/80's shows that can be turned into educational games. Zoom, Electric Company (with Spiderman!) Big Blue Marble, Hot Fudge,Great Space Coaster, and more. While I loved the show Vegetable Soup, the puppets in the Outerscope One segment were a little off putting. But if you really want to you want to scar kids. I say go for it. Vegetable Soup is completely unrelated to VeggieTales, for those of you wondering. Click on the embedded links and you will see how unrelated.
Speaking of VeggieTales, that would be fun to see. Loads of content/characters to use there.

1 hour ago, Silverbot said:Does anyone know how many gigaflops the Amico is? 👍😀
I believe Tommy has told us it was a "Snapdragon" processor. I don't think we've been given the specific one. Yet. It's hard to speculate it's capability right now. . Kind of like saying I have an i5 or an i7 processor in my PC. Or an Nvidia Card. As a numbers person, I get it. I'd love to find out. For me, and a good number of people here, it boils down to a few things:
1)Do the games play well?
2)Are the games I want to play on this platform?
3)Are the games priced right for what you get? (Both Digital and physical).*
3)See rules one,two, and three.
My answers so far:
1)They certainly look like they do. And look to be, mostly, my cup of tea. So YES.
2)Not just the launch games.. But the line up in the future.. And the Wouldn't that be somethingtm potential line up makes me say Yes! I do understand that some may not hit the console. I am taking my chances here... But if a majority of the WTBS's that have been mentioned do hit.. Double YES!
3)While we don't have a price breakdown of the individual games. I've seen enough to know that the one's I do like, I can see me buying regardless of where it lays on that range. Others.. Depending on the price.. There are enough in the top tier to make the plunge. So that is another YES for me.
4)YES
* We already know the starting price of the console, so it's down the price of each game. And the value/collectable proposition for the physical media.

Have you thought about a hard plastic cover that fits over the controller tray, it would be good to keep the dust off the controllers, plus when your using the controllers it fills the void and takes away that empty look. 👍😀
I can foresee someone making a STL file and make it available on thingiverse. OR some intrepid person with a CNC machine cutting something out of actual wood. I can see that on Etsy in a heartbeat.

I think a Minter 2D game like this re-imagined by Lllamasoft for the Amico could rock.
I'm a bit sick of the 3D games of late, and the psychedelic VR Games. More fun, 2D. 🙂I think I can agree with that. Let me see...
Bought a Jag for Tempest 2000
Bought the Nuon (2x different models)for Tempest 3000 and the VLM
Bought the xbox 360 for the VLM (Neon) and Space Giraffe - Then other games.
Bought a PS Vita for TXK
Bought a PS4/PSVR for TXK VR that was coming out( then canceled). Bonus - Polybius did make it. Then Tempest 4000!.
Buying an Amico - For the obvious reasons... But hopes of a Llamasoft game coming out.
