  1. The box for my Arcadia Supercharger was recently crushed by one of my kids. A total mistake so I cannot get angry. Bummed yes.. Angry no.. Luckily it was just the box. The Supercharger, booklet, and the cassette are all in great shape. Does anyone make a repro box for it? I don't mind having the Starpath version. But the Arcadia version would be ideal. I can wish can't I?
  2. One of my favorite games on the Atari. Please don't got this route... The official remake of Yar's Revenge from Atari: It's nice looking. But it's not Yar's.
  3. I'm excited about all 3 new systems coming out for different reasons. (one of those being the Amico). We can sort of count the rumored Switch Pro as 4. But three confirmed. And yes, I do consider the Amico as a new system. It will have new games along with remakes of older ones. (Retro Re imagined). I know that I'll be spending more money on storage. Adding to your your numbers: Remember 512GB doesn't equal 512GB of usable space. You end up with 465GB after just formatting. (give or take a little). 1 new AAA title like the new COD uses 140GB. Also don't forget there is space that is "reserved" that Microsoft does not let you use. Depending on who you talk to it is around 120-130GB. There is half of the space of your internal drive. You still get quite a bit of room for indi type games. But moving forward with new AAA games. Not much else. We won't even go into trying to build an external drive system that can hold ALL of the Xbox games. We still don't know the average size of the new games. Going by the above numbers, 2x18TB drives almost covers it and an external storage option would be about $1400.00. That is using Spinning 3.5" drives. To keep the speed up and go the SSD route, the costs go totally crazy. For the new Xbox, using the proprietary drives to keep the speed up, is kind of up in the air at the moment. But I know that price will come down. If I were to install 350 games on the Amico would be less than $200.00. This is with using a 1TB Name Brand SSD. With little or no loss of speed. We know that games will be between 512MB to 1Gig for AAA titles. So plenty of room to grow. For the Sony PS5 doing something close is kind of an unknown at the moment. But I would suspect more to the Xbox side than Amico. There is no "install" option for the switch. (That could be fixed with a firmware update). So you would have to go all digital. BOOOOO. Right now.. The only option is a Big ol' Micro SD card. Right now about $80.00 would get you a name brand card off of Amazon. sized at 512GB. I don't count those cards on Wish and other places. I can see myself buying all the new systems eventually. AND having fun with all 4 (or 5) . I already enjoy the current gen line up. Full disclosure. I play the PS4 more than the Xbox One. Mostly for VR. I look forward to what that will bring in the upcoming generation of games. And the switch rules all as I play that more than the other two. I can envision playing the Amico just as much as the Switch. Especially if it scratches that nostalgia itch. Plus I'm intrigued by what new things we'll see. Looking forward to it all!!!!
  4. I'm no longer the target market for an Xbox of any kind, but when I was, I would have spent more for a full-blown Xbox. I know myself... it would bug me not to have all the options and flexibility. Plus, while our internet data cap is pretty decent, I don’t care to have more things pushing toward our limit. (Although I have no idea to what extent cloud gaming is a drain on data usage.) If I understand correctly Flight Sim will be coming to the Xbox1sx4K_2Bornot2B. If it gives me good performance in 4K, I could convince myself to get one. On a side note, I am starting to see the PC-Elite Core already downplaying the new consoles with claims that their $1500.00 graphics card blows away performance of a $500.00 console. I sure as Sh%t would hope so. After all is said and done.. What could we do on an Amico for 3k? (Assuming another $1500 to get an i9 setup to take advantage of the card). Below are a few suggestions: 1)Buy an Amico. A new TV. PM Tommy and ask for him to personally autograph it. Spend some money to fly out to Headquarters. Then Pay Tommy the remaining 2K for it to be personalized. He'd take you for a ride in one of his fast(ish) cars. I'm sure he may have one with him when you stop by. Then watch him DONATE the rest to a charity. 2)Buy an Amico. 4K TV. Xbox one series X. PS5. New PSVR. a Ton of games. Fly out to another set of YouTubers. Let them know that Amico is just as much fun as the other ones. Fly back home.. And still have money left over to purchase a Switch Pro when available. 3)Buy an Amico. A new TV. A gift card/store credit in the A-Mall (The Amico Mall). Does anyone remember i-Mall? Roll around in all the money you save.(Alternate names:Amico Galleria? The Shoppes at Amico Plaza? A-Bay?) 4)Look at your PC that has a shiny graphics card. -Sad trombone sound- as you would have to spend even more money to get games that take advantage of it. Wait, MINECRAFT RTX!!!! Watch Youtube videos at 8k? Not to cast bad things on the people who buy the newest of everything. If you CAN afford to get all your gaming needs met. Enjoy it!!! Just don't be a [email protected] about it.
  5. 34 eh? Is that the record? If so... I'll do 35 at launch then. (Couldn't find anything but the whole scene on youtube... ) 38 39 whatever it took
  6. I've just forwarded the game info over to two of my flight sim fans. One of them just upgraded their PC just for the new MS flight sim... What. The Amico can't do Flight Sim?!?!?! I have cancel my order now! LOL
  7. My thought was.. This is a pack in game?!?! Wow. Can't wait to see the ones I have to actually pay for. OK not have to.. But will pay for .
  8. I have a new appreciation of this. I liked it before. Watching it full 1080p... All that on screen without slowdown. Not bad for a mobile game.. LOL Seriously.. And this is a Pack in? I do have one question for everyone. Does the music change as things get more hectic? And is this the final music?
  9. I'm going with - Two Controller Boxing. - I don't want to use the Arms analogy. But something akin to that. Curling. (That could be Retro Re-imagined as there is a curling came for the INTV). One person tosses the Kettle thing.. two more sweep. All motion controlled. Runner ups - Bobsledding and LaCross.
  10. @Tommy Tallarico It would be fun to see a live cam of an Amico playing music. Use the LEDs on the controllers/console to bump with the light. Think of it like a Virtual Light Machine from some of the older consoles. This would give us a cool visual. Plus if you keep it on. It's a form of burn in testing. If you use your music, you can't copyright strike it. Every so often you could toss some fun Easter Eggs into the picture. Boxes. Physical media. If you show a TV screen, you can load up game play videos and previews. Maybe live play. I'm sure other, more creative people can think of more. Who else would like to see something like this?
  11. I was thinking about the amount of launch games and the Amico's approach to releasing them. While I always want more choice, I can see the logic in keeping it to 30. In those 30 you should have a representation or three of each of the top 10 groups of games. Like: adventure, arcade, driving/racing, edutainment etc. Nothing gets drowned out by the others. Then slowly trickle the games out. As we go down the road, I would not argue with releasing two to three games every two weeks. I think that you can still give each game some time in the spotlight. I'm hoping that when we go the Amico Emporium (Remember it's not just a simple shop) we get to see not only previews of the game in action, but maybe a little of the developer introduction. So we can learn more about them as well as the games. I know that depends on bandwidth. Maybe give us a choice of "Low bandwidth" Amico Shop. Basic online shopping. Or go to the "High Bandwidth" Emporium. With all the bells and whistles. Videos playing like: Tommy's head zooming at you until you go into his eye. Only to have Tommy's head zooming at you. Rinse and repeat. Imagine being able to dress your shop to your theme? Like 80's arcade. 70's Record Store. 90's Software Etc. Truly make it personal.
  12. My first two questions are: 1)When do Pre-orders begin? 2)How many (car) batteries does it take? 3)When do we start to shill for this?
  13. I have brought the subject of the sometimes pushed to the back, but never forgotten, soundtracks that we will be getting when the Amico's come our way. While listening to two different OST's yesterday, it got me to thinking about the Amico's sound hardware. Can anything be said about what the capabilities are? Anything cool features that can be reveled? To to put it out of your mind, I was listening to Guacamele and Braid. and No, not at the same time. PS Two good games that would be excellent to add to the Amico library. PSS - For the included OSTs Any chance of physical copy's? OR are you doing something special? Not unlike the Physical Media for the Amico?
  14. Love ETA Prime. His videos are usually 15 minutes or less and have a lot of good info. The whole thing is 8 or so screws to mount the pi and put the case together. Then another 4 to mount a drive in the Cartridge. Afew videos ago, he did a video on how to boot from USB. Retropie is Super Simple to install. As it's gotten more advanced, getting games over to the Pi has become VERY simple. Within an hour you could have a nice little system going. Then you go down the fun rabbit hole of theming. Covers. Different systems. Tweaking. Figuring what runs great. What doesn't. It's a fun little past time. If you work from home you just turn left or right.. Take a break and build/tweak/play.
  15. I love all the Retroflag cases. I have a few. They are releasing a new one for the Rpi4. Inside the cart is a 2.5" ssd. (You can install). This can be easily removed and insert another cartridge for a whole new experience. I don't think blowing on the connector is needed. Here's the page for it: http://retroflag.com/nespi-4-case.html
  16. With Tommy on Vacation and no real news forthcoming as it's been said a few times I wanted to remind everyone that has been around here of a few things that have been confirmed and not brought up again for a while. This may come as news to the newer people here: A few hundred pages ago @Tommy Tallarico was mentioning having some way of having Physical buttons added to the screen on the controller. Not sure if the disc was brought up or not. I think a spinner knob on the disc would add a lot to Breakout, pong, Tempest. People were speculating on how it would be set up. But nothing concrete came of it at the teim. I think info was forthcoming on more of a Wouldn't that be something tm moment for them. Also for the newer people, Tempest was confirmed to be on the list. Just not started yet. I believe Warlords was as well. Once Activision is on board, I want to see Kaboom!
  17. Only 24 at a time? That doesn't sound like you. Get some more cables. I love my tempest from New Wave. I'm going to get Dragon's Lair as well. When they finally come out. Speaking of that... Any chance of Dragon's Lair/Space Ace/ETC coming out on Amico? Not sure how you could Amico-fy it. But it never hurts to ask.
  18. I thought it looked like a cross between the 321 Penguins Ship: And Mike TV from ReBoot. Does anyone remember this show? Not that it's a bad thing.. Can't wait to see more games and info!!! On a side note---- We need a Bump in the night game: And Filmore! If you haven't seen this - It's made like a 70's Police show. The Safety Patrol are like the police officers of the school.
  19. I like it. I get his criticisms. We can agree to disagree on some of the Amico points. But at least he's fair. Just because it's not for you, that doesn't mean that it's a "bad" system. Will watch a few more from him.
  20. Here's the thing. If we compare the two consoles - We've seen a total of one new(ish) game (maybe) running on the Atari hardware. Tempest 4000. Keeping in mind, the creator of the game said he never made a Linux build. Everything else has been, most likely, emulation from the Atari Flashback games. I don't recall even seeing that on the hardware. Just the announcement. Most of which you can get on other platforms. Apart from the few "mobile" games that we've seen on the Amico. Everything has been brand new versions, or brand new games. Including seeing things run on actual hardware. Plus way more interviews with Tommy. More videos. More fun all around. The Atari team does have the Amico team beat in two key areas: 1)Hotel announcements. and 2)Crypto currency announcements. Maybe Atari has something up their sleeve? the "one more thing" moment. I just don't see it. As I've always said. Atari has a place in my heart. I want both consoles to succeed. It looks like at least one has a fighting chance.
  21. Watched the event live.. No Audio issues. Had to go back to work right away and got wrapped up life right after. (One Special needs child (18) and another that has some health issues that we are dealing with over the last 6-8 months). I hope Tommy can forgive me ... LOL. As of now, I've only seen it once. I'll watch it again soon. So my impressions having watched it once: The presentation was exactly what I thought it would be. Interviews. Fun. Games. Some new. Some old. a slight glimpse of EWJ4. Not showing us everything. Us wanting more. This was an overview. A meet and greet type event. Did we see everything when other consoles were shown off for the first time? Nope. The actual games came as a surprise. As we have months to go. I expect we'll see more games. This is a good first step. To get us looking and talking. The aftermath is about what I expected as well. The haters still hate. The fans are still fans. Some honest criticism. Some honest praise. some dishonest on both. But what I expected. The other three console makers could put out trash system. There would be people who would defend it until their last breath. Others would criticize the same way. The internet is full of... I'll end it there. Me? I like the system. Like the games. I'm into what I've seen so far. My favorite moment was Tommy, being Tommy. I saw his heart up there when he had to change the date. The other part was when we saw all the parts laid out and he said "What's this? I don't know". And tossed it aside. Like it or hate it. Reminded me of the Luke lightsaber moment at the end of Force Awakens/beginning of the Last Jedi. Please don't start a thread in here on the merits of the Disney Star Wars movies. We don't need that. We can say that we want more Tron.. Both games and movies. @Tommy Tallaricois any chance of getting a nice pic of all the parts nicely laid out. If you could do it in widescreen, it would make for nice wallpaper. As I stated above, overall its good start. I think Tommy will listen to the honest criticism and with the extra time, I don't want to say fix, but address those concerns that some people have. In a way, as much as I want to play the games in just over 2 months, I think it's for the better. I also think that no matter what Intellivision does, it's not an Xbox/PS/Nintendo so those detractors will say negative things. Can't wait to see more!!!!
  22. I tried a little while later and it has not bounced back. Although I have not received a confirmation email like some of the others in the forum. If I don't see something in a while I'll resubmit.
