  1. It's taken everything I've ever thrown at it game wise, including multi-load games (again, be sure it's set to Device and the JiffyDOS chip loves it too Does it only handle ide fixed games or can it accept software fastloaders? I was under the impression that it was not emulating the cpu or ram in the 1541 and would only work with games that did not use either of those.

    Cost sharing

People may not get ill deliberately, but what about those that choose to partake in risky behavior like smoking, excessive drinking, or other things that can lead to costly, life threatening diseases. Should someone that lives a "clean" life (and therefore has a lower average medical cost) be forced to pay for someone that chooses not to?
  3. Just pulled the game out of my mailbox. This is easily one of the nicest reproductions I've ever bought! Is the rom going to be made available? I'd like to keep this sealed if at all possible.
  4. Are you only interested in other 3DO games or are there games for other systems you would take in trade?
  5. It's not just a matter of finding cracked images to work with the uIEC. You have to find images that are cracked and don't have fast loader code, which most cracking groups added or left intact when they cracked the games. What you need to look for are images that are IDE compatible (I belive it's called IDE compatible, basically they need to be able to run from a hard drive). If you go with the 1541u, it will run the images even if they have fast loader code in them as it fully emulates the 1541, which is a "smart" device (has it's own CPU/RAM/etc). I believe the sd2IEC is an earlier attempt and what the uIEC is doing. From my understanding, the uIEC is the best of the dumb devices. The 1541u is really the only one that will give you a huge amount of compatibility, but at a much greater cost. If you can afford it though, it's worth every penny and then some!
  6. Does the uIEC handle software fast loaders or does it still require that any fast loader be stripped from the .d64 before it will work? I'm guessing not as it doesn't emulate the CPU in the 1541, so there's no way for it to cope with having special loader code pushed to it.
  7. Always... What do you like? Ax Everything. :-) PM Sent!
  8. I think I have a spare sealed copy of Ballistic. Got anything to trade?
  9. X-Men sold for ~$1500. This was a proto though. Pretty sure Spider-man is the most expensive released game for the 32X.
  10. If you search on assembler, there is a post about modifying a genesis pad to work with an msx. It's not hard to do and seems to work perfectly.
  11. Sure. I don't have any feelings towards either number.
  12. Do you at least have a list of what you own? I like to read what other folks have so that I can make sure my want lists are as complete as possible.
  13. And while you are at it, issue that Poke that kills the loading beep from the computer. Maybe make it configurable for those that like it?
  14. Yeah, I pretty much see one everyday... You too? http://www.robohara.com/arcade_collection/...=Super_Off_Road Mine works although the monitor is a little dim. It's a big hit when the boys come over. Glad you are still enjoying it! BTW, I finally ran across the box with my spare opto boards for it. I'll get them to you the next time we get together.
  15. Yea, I bought it. I'll fire it up once it gets here and will report back what all it has. I just love oddball stuff like this, so I'm really looking forward to playing with it!
  16. I'll roll the dice. If nothing else, it will look cool with all of the other useless stuff I have laying around. PM sent!
  17. QFT. Nothing besides a nice set of Wico ball tops with leafs will feel right. I know at some point, there was a repro run of the long shafts to match the Robotron originals. They may still be out there somewhere. In fact, I still need a set for the pair of sticks going into my Multi Williams.
  18. FAT32 works for sure by my testing. I didn't do any other special prep to the card or anything. I do make sure to boot with it in the PCMCIA slot. Also remember, your accelerator is one that has issues with PCMCIA devices. Maybe it's causing it to not be able to read somehow? I know that it usually disables the RAM on the accelerator if there is a conflict, but maybe it's the opposite here?
  19. I don't think you want this CF formatted as an Amiga HD. For the PCMCIA to CF, you should just format it FAT32 from a PC. Nothing really fancy required for this.
  20. Oh, I apologize. I didn't know that. I thought it it was something unintentional, considered acceptable noise in the design. No, not at all. I'm beyond happy with the Nuxx and it's performance! I wish there were more people that would make complete package projects like this. My only complaint was more from a general Atari use standpoint. I'm coming from a different world of classic computing and don't have the same level of nostalgia as some do for the beeping on drive access. I understand why it's there, but would kill to turn it off just due to it driving me nuts to listen to it. Nothing at all to do with the Nuxx! In fact, the Nuxx makes it better since it loads the programs so much quicker and I don't have to listen to it as long!
  21. Gah! Blasphemy!! Forgive me! I know not what I ask!!!
  22. Thanks for the info. I'll play around with this a bit more when I get a couple of free minutes. I never thought to look anywhere else on the screen.
