Quick Question: Cybermorph (Jaguar) variations
mshaver76 replied to Adrian M's topic in Rarity Guide
If I remember correctly, all boxed versions of Cybermorph were the 1 meg version. Pack-in versions were available in 1 and 2 meg versions. The 2 meg version had an animated title screen, had a 1993 copyright, and Skylar said a few more phrases. The 1 meg version had a static title screen, and a 1994 copyright. Hope this helped some. I've only got five hooked up at once. Nuon via component. Jaguar and Dreamcast via S-Video using an S-Video switchbox. Atari 5200 and 7800 via RF. 4-port 5200 RF switchbox is hooked up to the TV and the 7800 with a cable connector adapter is hooked up to the 5200's switchbox.

I'm sure one of you knows something...

Well, my rarer highlights would have to be: Atari Jaguar system -- hey, if I didn't have this all the other stuff would be useless, right? Jaguar CD 2 ProControllers Breakout 2000 Defender 2000 Alien vs. Predator Protector -- Don't know how I forgot to add this. quote: Originally posted by Songbird: Is there some way the board could be configured so if you're not logged in, you can log in on the same screen as the reply you're typing? As opposed to having to click on a link and go to a separate screen? Just a comment... I don't think there is, at least I haven't seen a UBB 6 board that does. However, unless you're worried about someone else using your computer to post as you, you can always not log out. You're log in information will be saved in a cookie and every time you visit the site you'll already be logged in. Hope this helped. [ 10-23-2001: Message edited by: mshaver76 ]

Sure, I'll comment. Actually, I've read through the thread Albert linked to and I agree with a lot of what The Helper mentioned. Basically, I think that how often a game shows up on eBay and availability from online retailers should determine rarity. If a game is only available from Telegames, I'd still consider it kind of rare. I also think price should have at least a little say in the rarity. BattleSphere is a rare game, but if I wanted to pay $200+, I could probably get the game pretty quick. Ultimately, I think most Jaguar games would be in the 1 to 3 range. Oh well, I hope this made a little sense. Anyway, a little off topic, is Atari Karts and Alien vs. Predator becoming rarer? I noticed that Telegames no longer sells the games separately anymore.

No problem. I'm just glad you were able to take the time to fix it.

I noticed that the Jaguar Rarity Guide seems to be back to an older version. Specifically, the following information that was there is now missing. 1. The Primal Rage box scan. The actual page is there if you go to it with a direct link, but you can't get to it from the guide. The icon is grey and when the mouse pointer hovers over it, it says box scan not available. 2. The Tempest 2000 Soundtrack CD insert and jewel case scans are the same as number 1. Actual pages are there, but no links in the guide. 3. The change on the media type from CD-ROM to Audio CD on the T2K soundtrack. 4. The change on the media type from CD-ROM to cartridge on Air Cars. 5. All the years of release from Jeff's Jaguar Jungle That seems to be all of the missing information that I see. Although, I would like to point out a few more things. 6. The year of release for the T2K soundtrack, Myst demo, and the Memory Track is 1995, according to Atari Explorer Online. More detailed information on this is available in the Jaguar Section Now Online! post. 7. The Rarity Guide lists Val D'Issere when it should be Val d'Isere. 8. I'm not sure, but I thought that the Jaguar version of Doom was just Doom, not Doom: Evil Unleashed. I also wanted to mention that I did clear my cache and check all of this out right before I posted this. Thanks.

I was letting him know that it was a regular cd and NOT a Jagcd. But I was the one that read his comment incorrectly as he was pointing out the error on the board. I did not know about the error of it being listed as cd-rom. Yeah, I re-read it too and realized I could've been a little clearer. The reason I was asking if it was possible is because I didn't know if those values in the Rarity Guide were hard coded for either cartridge or CD-ROM. In which case, CD-ROM would've been the more accurate of the two. I just didn't want them to go through a lot of trouble just to switch the T2K soundtrack from CD-ROM to Audio CD.

Well, this is a little tough since I don't really "collect" video games. I just get the games I like to play. As for the systems I have, they are: Atari Ultra Pong Doubles Atari 5200 Atari 7800 Atari Jaguar w/Jaguar CD Nuon Sega Dreamcast I also like to collect coins, but it's more of a casual collection. The best coins I have would be an 1881 US gold Half Eagle ($5) and an 1885 uncirculated US Morgan Silver Dollar. I've also been getting the US Mint Proof sets for all of the state quarters, but because I like silver coins, I get the Silver Proof sets.

quote: Originally posted by Albert: The only ones I didn't add this information for are the Memory Track, Tempest 2000 Soundtrack and Myst Demo. I know the Tempest 2000 Soundtrack and Myst Demo were included with the Jaguar CD, but I need to research when it was released and whether those items were included with it from the beginning. Also need to find out when the Memory Track was released. I looked through old issues of Atari Explorer Online that's available at Jaguar Explorer Online and found the following information that I hope will help. 1. Volume 4, Issue 8 (October 10, 1995) says the Memory Track is shipping. It's under the Good, the New, and the Imminent section of Surfing the Jagged Edge. 2. I couldn't find any mention of the Myst demo shipping separately from the Jaguar CD. Also, the pack-ins were with the Jaguar CD from the beginning. Here's a press release quoted from Volume 4, Issue 8 (October 10, 1995) of AEO, spelling errors and all. quote: Atari Jaguar CD System Pounces onto Multimedia Marketplace SUNNYVALE, CA -- (September 22, 1995) -- According to video game enthusiasts, it was well worth the wait. Atari Corporation's highly anticipated multimedia compact disc player for the Jaguar 64 interactive home entertainment system has hit the stores and is jumping off the shelves. Atari Corporation has already sold out of its first production run of the CD peripheral, and is stepping up production to fill the high demand of retailers' reorders. "Our first order of Jaguar CDs has been largely consumed by our customer pre-orders," said Peter Roithmayr, Senior Buyer from Electronic Boutique. "We have already reordered and are excited by the strong sales we are seeing for the Jaguar CD." The combination of the Jaguar 64-bit console and the advanced CD technology yields a system with explosive power. As the first CD system coupled with 64-bit technology to hit the market, the Jaguar CD is on the leading edge of "next generation" home entertainment systems at only $149.95. Gamers experience intense true color, full motion video and CD-quality stereo sound when upgrading to the Jaguar CD system. The CD component plugs into the Jaguar 64 console providing 790 Megabytes of raw data storage. Approximately 15 Jaguar CD titles will be available for sale later this year including hits like "Myst", "Primal Rage" from Time Warner Interactive, "Black ICEWhite Noise", "Highlander", and "Commander Blood". "The launch of our Jaguar CD exemplifies Atari Corporation's commitment to providing consumers value priced components for their Atari entertainment system," said Ted Hoff, President of Atari's North American Operations. "Now, Jaguar owners can quickly and economically upgrade to a CD system and dramatically enhance their gaming experience." In addition to the awesome gaming capabilities, the Jaguar CD elevates home entertainment to an entirely new level as it plays audio discs while providing simultaneous access to Atari's cartridge media. Players can experience a laser light show in their own homes with "The Virtual Light Machine" that is built into the Jaguar CD system. As audio discs play on the Jaguar CD, "The Virtual Light Machine" morphs, contorts and pulsates psychedelic light with the beat of the music. With a suggested retail price of only $149.95, the Jaguar CD system is undoubtedly the best value on the market. Atari Corporation, however, takes their commitment to value-pricing one step further in giving Jaguar consumers a bonus pack with the CD peripheral. More than $100 in fast-action interactive software will be included free with the system. The software bonus pack contains: * Blue Lightning -- Gamers pilot a plane from a squadron of United nations operatives as they fight to stop General Drako, the UN member turned terrorist. Players design flight plans and use their quick maneuvering skills to destroy key enemy locations and basis. * Vid Grid -- An innovative way to "play" music videos. As players watch the video, the screen is divided into squares and placed out of order. Players must unscramble each video before it finishes playing. Vid Grid features videos from hot rock artist Guns 'n Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, Ozzie Osbourne, Van Halen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Peter Gabriel, Aerosmith, and Sound Garden. * Myst -- Jaguar CD consumers will be treated to a demo of the first level of game play for the wildly popular title. Players must use their intellect to unlock the secrets of ages past. Every detail, no matter how insignificant it first seems could be the key to unlocking the mystery. * Tempest 2000 -- Consumers receive the audio CD to this all-time favorite Atari hit. With Jaguar CD capabilities, the Tempest 2000 soundtrack can by played with "The Virtual Light Machine". The Jaguar CD peripheral with the bonus software pack-in is available in stores nationwide. Atari Corporation notified tens of thousands of Jaguar 64 users of the new Jaguar CD release through the company's Jaguar Alert consumer postcard program. For more than twenty years, Atari Corporation has provided consumers with high quality value priced entertainment. Atari Corporation markets Jaguar, the only American-made advanced 64-bit entertainment system and is located in Sunnyvale, California. # # # Atari, the Atari logo and Jaguar are trademarks or registered trademarks of Atari Corporation. In the Offers from Atari Customer Service section, it was listed as a pre-order in the Volume 3, Issue 13 (December 4, 1994), Volume 3, Issue 14 (December 18, 1994), and Volume 4, Issue 1 (January 16, 1995). The first Offers from Atari Customer Service section to state that it was in stock was in Volume 4, Issue 2 (February 6, 1995). 4. This isn't related to any of the above, but thought I should mention it. In the Rarity Guide, Val d'Isere is misspelled. It's listed as Val D'Issere. Also, I'm not sure about this but I thought the Jaguar version of Doom was just plain old Doom, not Doom: Evil Unleashed. Like I said, I could be wrong. I was just curious. I definitely need to bid on one of these auctions, as it looks like he has two catalogs we don't have here on AtariAge. Also, I sent him a message asking if he had any others, although I doubt it or he'd probably include them in the auctions as well. Thanks again, ..Al You're welcome. I was happy to help.

I just wanted to say that I think that the Jaguar section is great. I really like all of the pictures. I would like to note a few things if I may. 1. Air Cars' media type is listed as a CD-ROM when it's a cartridge. 2. It's not important, but would it be possible to change the media type of the Tempest 2000 Soundtrack from CD-ROM to Audio CD? Like I said, it's not important, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there anyway. 3. I noticed that the year of release sections were empty. If you're interested, Jeff's Jaguar Jungle has a game list that includes month and year of release of Jaguar games. Anyway, these are my only suggestions and thanks for an excellent Jaguar section.

Hello. While I do have a couple catalogs/flyers, I don't have a scanner, sorry. However, Go Atari sells a couple in an eBay package, that's where I got mine. A search on Atari Jaguar Flyers will bring it up. The package includes 2 copies of a single 16 page catalog, 1 Jaguar flyer, 1 single sheet flyer on Pinball Fantasies, 1 single sheet flyer on Cannon Fodder, and 3 bumper stickers. The auctions have a Buy It Now of $10, but they usually go for the opening bid of $5.
