  1. I know, I'm actually studying Atari programming right now Haven't coded much myself, but it's very interesting
  2. I would hate to have that power supply ... I would buy a regualr one and hide it if I ever were forced to use that ...
  3. Is the color faded on this stick or is this normal? Curious ...
  4. How about ... Magic Cart* Flash-2600* Game Programmer (in the font of Atari's game program text) Cartridge-RW (relating to CDRW) Serial Connect* * simple names that just sound smooth Here's a good idea for power resources and the cart ... Have an 1/8" jack coming off a wire from the cart that plugs into the Atari's DC power plug. Then, the regular Atari power supply could plug into the cart, and the cart would supply power for the Atari. This way there's no need for an extra adapter, which would be a pain.
  5. THAT RULES! Hoooolay cow that is AWESOME! I couldn't afford it if it was more then $60, but it's worth more! You should definately persure this, it's totally worthy!!
  6. So today, I went to the hobby shop, picked up some matching paint, and repainted the orange back onto my aging stick! It owns - I did such a nice job on it and it looks GREAT!
  7. I've seen this cart as a little graphic scattered all over this site. But I can't seem to find the game for sale anywhere. What's going on with this title? Does it even exist? Is it sold out?
  8. Aww ... I just started to really like AtariInvader too ... Have you tried Google ads? Maybe you can even earn money off your site doing that. They're relative, not annoying at all, and you can match them to your site. You ought to look into it, it's real easy to get it going!
  9. Don't give Infogrames any ideas. We don't want them turning into SCO.
  10. Has anybody played this game before? I absolutely love it! Rez has just an orgy of great music through the whole game. It's like, the music is so great that you play it mostly so the music can keep coming. The graphics are so incredible, not just for DC, but for it's unique and beautiful style. It's just an amazing game - if you own a DC and are into trance, I highly recommend that you pick up this game.
  11. Ahh ... yeah, if I were faced with those issues, I'd probably switch too Keep up the great work!
  12. Nice!! I got it off very easily! Whoa .. the chip in it is really odd looking. It's totally square and very thick. Doesn't look like most of the other homebrew chips I've seen ... huh ... very nicely made though, wow. Thanks for the fast and very useful help!
  13. Curious about what the innards look like And if something goes wrong with any of my carts, I'll know what went wrong, how to fix it, and how to not break it worse. I'm gonna try to open my cart now
  14. I have a really shredded up Yars' Revenge common cart with a hole in the sticker screw already, and being me, I really wanna take this baby apart However, removing that screw didn't work the magic I thought it would. And I dind't want to force anything - it would suck if I broke the plastic. I thought I would ask you guys before I went on ... How do I properly dissasemble a genuine Atari cart?
  15. Yeah - if you jitter, the mercury will go all over the inside and make the game go crazy. Then you'll get all mad and bite it, little did you remember that mercury is poisonous. Then, you die. That arcade stick looks great!! Wow. I wish there were more flea markets like that over here in Seattle ... I'm not too sure about that 500XJ ... it looks a little large and all. Are you guys sure it's an easy one to hold onto? I noticed the left-handed finger button underneath - that is slick! The stick switches sounds super-nice too, I know exactly what you're talking about! Little details like that add up to make an awesome controller. For some reason, I'm still appealing to a Slik Stik. Perhaps I ought to just buy one and see if I like it. It won't be the end of the world if I don't - I'll probaby (sadly enough) perfer it to my stock controller anyway. Anyone know what they feel like?
  16. Here's one idea - What if you were able to link your Atari's right controller port up to your PC to play games with your Atari online? The controllers are just serial ports - if parallel is suitable, serial-parallel cables are readily available! Another - what if you programmed something hardcore where one player would play upon two axes? That would be insane. And one more - why not get more cycles out of your Atari by downsizing the refresh rate? By going 30 fps instead of 60 fps NTSC (25 fps/50 fps PAL), you could calculate a lot more before you had to refresh again. Imagine the graphics you would be capable of then!
  17. I would edit but ... I didn't mean to sounds rude by saying empty, sorry.
  18. The 2600 controller section is like, empty. No complaints or anything, but any chance of filling it out a little more?
  19. True dat. I'm personally into Opera though Very buggy I have to admit, but so friendly and gestury ... and tabby ...
  20. linux here ... not supporting that horrible software ...
  21. Why switch from phpBB2? It's a great open-source bbs system. You should just throw the buttons back in, I could really use em.
  22. Judging in only playability, what controller do you think is the best? The stock ones are really cool, but hurt your hands after a bit. I think I might be in for a slik stik, but I'm not sure - I've never held and used one before.
  23. Wow ... imagine going to a garage sale with an old lady sittin there, offering you a 2600 with joysticks, about 10 games, and Air Raid, trying to sell it to you for 10 bucks. Now THAT'S what I'm talkin about. If only ... I'm gonna start sweepin garage sales hahaha
