Whats a boxed AES Neo Geo Gold system worth?
Cassidy Nolen replied to Cassidy Nolen's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I did see the US ones are more...aren't they the same inside the box?....bizarre This is the US model, all the games are US too. Thanks for the ballpark. I think I'll be in the 500 range with this one. We sold Tempest's one a few years back for about that money (loose with games) but the times are changing.... Thanks, Cassidy -
I am selling limited editions on ebay, am I a criminal?
Cassidy Nolen replied to lucifershalo's topic in Atari 2600
No, thats Craigslist you are thinking of C -
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=260168918441 My auction. I had a spare one and need to raise some funds for my Wii addiction.....can't stop playing Rabbids......turns out this box is nicer than the one I am keeping (I am oddly partial to the other one). Thanks for looking. Cassidy

Have one, am considering selling it and a second joystick with memory card and 7 carts (all boxed). Any idea on value? The games are the common ones (Samurai Shodown 2, Blues Journey, Nam, Ghost Pilots, Riding Hero, you get the idea). All complete, all in good shape. I think the market is cool on this system right now....any ideas? C

Collector quality N64 and games for sale
Cassidy Nolen replied to Cassidy Nolen's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
You can tell by the dates what a motivated seller I am Anybody interested? C -
I think thats great man! We all love that old console and I think its great it kept you going. I will say after 9/11 this site kept me going for a long time. The people here are great, sometimes we get at each other but generally there is a sense of friendship. Glad to hear it man. Best of luck in your new pad I feel the 2600 will be there as well? Cassidy

Just saw this thread. I registered, too. Hopefully I got on the list. Obviously this one won't increase in value like the Cubicolors did but man, to actually have one built by THE programmer....what a cool thing to have. C

If you drive a tricked out Nova or a Ferrari you still are a gear head. If you run a mile or a marathon you are still athletic (or chased by the cops). Bottom line man, if you are even questioning it, you are a collector. I am more a collector than a player and I feel bad about that sometimes. Its something I enjoy the "feeling" of just as much as the gameplay itself. You are a collector, hunting out games makes you that. Nobody judges you on cart/box/manual only. I love the look of the boxes so thats why I collect them. Sometimes I have cart and box only. Complete only matters if you let it. Now wheres that beat-up copy of Warlords? It gets a crapload more play than some complete rare game! When was the last time someone stopped by, saw your games and said "Hey, lets play some Eli's Ladder!"? Cassidy

I can say this without any hesitation. They were all good enough. It was not until I bought crap like Sssnake that I realized the limitations on the 2600. I loved everything that Atari, Coleco, Parker Brothers, Activision and US Games made. It did not matter what it was, it was a new game and it sort of looked like the arcade. The fact we had that or the table top versions with C cells that lasted a half hour....I'll take my 2600 any day. Fav's of the ported games: Ms. Pac Jungle Hunt Pole Position Pac Man (I know now, but back then it was Pac Man at HOME) Frogger (PB version, I didn't know the SuperCharger existed until 2000) Pong (I know, sports, whatever...it still rocked) C

Does this help? http://www.atarionline.com/ataricart.html This is for an eprom so you won't need to add a chip or bend anything. Just unsolder and install. Easy as pie. C

Thats about it. If you have one, let me know. Can trade games, other laserdiscs or money (although that part is tight at the moment). Thanks, the only one I found of ebay was not too expensive it just happened to be in Hong Kong....maybe a bootleg? C
-
I am going to assume if there are big companies that used Eproms, a small run like this would also be eproms. Simple enough that a Coleco ADAM system could do it back in the day. As for 3K a piece, thats just not realistic for 100 carts. I see your point about making bank, but I think once the game is disassembled, looked at in depth and some of the guru's poke through the code that will be very apparent if its new or old school designed. Maybe the first one is worth big money but from there it goes down quickly. Imagine if a hundred Video Lifes just popped up. They'd all be worth less very quickly (worth a great deal less). Seen that happen time and time again in this community (Crazy Climber, Quadrun, Waterworld, CTCW, Ikari, the list goes on). C

How much for the dead river patrol? I'm interested in that Seriously. C

Subterranea and other rare games for trade sale!
Cassidy Nolen replied to mike99mccarthy's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I have all positive to say about this seller. GREAT condition, better than described. I would get others from him if I needed them.... Props and a bump As it is I now have two Roc N Ropes Cheers, C -
Are there 23 or 24 traces on the board? I think both MB games were 4K IIRC. If they have all 24, they are 4K C

They interview Eugene Jarvis (creator of Defender) on the 5 buroughs (sp?) album about the ailen defenders and mutants. There are TONS of classic game references in their songs. Hello Nasty had a few. Neat to see the 2600 get love. They rock. Simply put, they have staying power when the industry is constantly changing. From Ill on, they remain my only rap favorite. I just can't get into rap. Something must be wrong with me, according to MTV anyway.... C

Some pics of my Atari 2600 collection
Cassidy Nolen replied to iwan-iwanowitsch-goratschin's topic in Atari 2600
Great looking collection. That DK Jr. clamshell under Death Trap is really interesting to me. Never seen one like that. You have some great new releases mixed in, a great red box collection from Atari and some fun games. Way to go! That is what Atari collecting is all about. I hope you get time to play regularly! What a find! Fantastic and congrats... I don't see anything wrong with you offering the item on the marketplace and holding a private auction. I would suggest the following to appease everyone: 1. Find a local reputable AA member that can "dump" the contents of the game. You have quite a discovery for a beloved system. That way the data is preserved in the event this game is again lost to the ages or the infamous "bit rot" sets in. 2. Post your intentions of an auction, holding prices back except to bidders and presenting a running tally of bidder names. That way there is no shill bidding and all involved know what they are up against. I would suggest maybe a 7 or 10 period, and then notify folks at other game sites your intentions. If you ebay it, it would do the same thing I suppose. I am sure I am going to be blasted for saying this (Hey, I've been around long enough to have thick skin....even had someone hope my collection is worthless...thanks pal)... but I see nothing wrong with you selling your newfound item. Its yours, you are a reseller. You got lucky and now someone who buys it will too. Money you can get more of. Rarity games are rare for a reason. There are a number of collectors here who are world-class and real standup folks. I think you will make out well on the sale and if you are willing to dump the game, all can enjoy it regardless of whether they have big bucks or not. My .25. Blast away. Cassidy

Ask around over at the Dragons Lair Project boards. Those laser-heads take that stuff seriously. Big time. My short excusion into Mach 1 territory was well assisted by those guys. They have all the manuals for the hardware scanned, etc. I think that would be a good question for them. I think Jeff is the name of the guy that runs it. C

The more beat up the labels are I find the harder they are to take off. Heat them up good with a hair dryer or heat gun and use tweezers to start the edge. Most come off well. The later style (7800 type) cases are pretty easy to get clean the first go round. I think the early ones are the best, but I feel too much guilt to do it anymore Silvers are just not consistent. If they are scratched up, they are near impossible. I have an ET that NOTHING on this planet will get that label off....no kidding! C

I emailed them a while back after a Zayre store inventory surfaced locally. I bought a sealed Death Trap and London Blitz and was HOPEFUL they would still have some somewhere. The person that returned my email assured me they are far out of the business of video games. They were a huge boardgame company apparently. A little off my beaten path, never got into board games besides the ones we played as kids. To this day, London Blitz and Shuttle are the only two I have played. Mine 4 (duh, guess which I am missing?) are sealed. C

IM new to Coinops & I need INFO Please...

I literally do mean calling the number on the machine. As an ex-operator I can tell you I ALWAYS had machines around...in pieces or in whole...that I wanted to sell. Worth the time. You can't be the guy that gets discouraged on the first call though. Be willing to trudge around for a while, calling every little while or maybe go see their facilities in person. You'd be amazed what getting to know somebody does for you. My whole enterance into route locations was a cold-call to an operator about a Pole Position cockpit in a laundromat. Next game I got was a $20 Tron that needed a 50 cent part and a monitor. Several years and MANY games later, I still hang out with the guy. As for Pongs, I just got a call on Wednesday about one here in town. The ops all know I am into the old stuff and I still get calls, years after the fact. There is a Tennessee auction this weekend. I would imagine the game will go 50-100, depending on the crowd. I have had them given to me, pulled monitors out and trashed them, etc. before. You can imagine the pong clone as the "pigeon" of the game world...sort of around and not good for much I love them too and have fixed several. Mind you, the 110V to 5V DC conversion usually happens on the board itself. Be aware, many of them have live 110 volt inputs in places other games don't. Just be careful C -

http://on.allpages.com/thunder-bay/travel-...musement-parks/ Theres a few places I would call. When I travel (and I don't care HOW far away from civilization I am ) I do a search like this. Call the places and see who supplies them. They literally drove coin production for many years in the 80s. They are out there, just have to find them. Check bowling alleys for operator numbers, movie theaters, bars (if you are old enough of course!), ice cream and pizza places, etc. Get a number from an operator and call. Never hurts. C
