Hello all,
While I was rebuilding my Atari CX40's the other day, I had Combat on the system to test, because I knew it would show all the motions, except down. Now, just for giggles, I pushed it anyway (seeing how it was in my hand, and when both up and down are pressed, the tank gets a sort of turbo speed. Just a thought, but if you wanted to whomp your friends at the tank game, you could hack a dead joystick and add a down button somewhere on the bottom, so you had a turbo when he/she comes at you.
Just a thought. Hey, its worth what you paid for it.

Can I buy some of this stuff from you guys? I don't have any duplicates of my games, therefore having nothing I would really like to trade. That isin't a problem is it?That was my biggest complaint about Vegas, heck the only one I had. People would not sell anything. Its all for trade. I understand people wanting to do that, but still, give me a shot at it.
I will sell anything I bring for trade. I would actually rather do that and then have the cash to go get whatever I want there. If anyone needs some table space, we might be able to work it out. I will most likely try and have Computer Space at my table, rather than at the arcade, because it cannot be on the entire time. It has not been on for more than 10 hours (total) in the last three years. Sort of like a collectors car they never drive but love.).
We really should do something to mark ourselves at the show. Maybe we could make buttons of a graphic from the group with our usernames so we can just say hi. I cannot wait to meet some of you all. This has been by far the best part of the collecting world for me in the last six months.
As for coin ops, I will be bringing a Missile Command for sale (around $600), Night Driver cockpit rewired for modern power supply (for $400), maybe a Breakout for sale ($300). I am trying to get a modern driving game like Rush or Cruizin (around 1800 each) too. If someone wants a specific, drop me a line. I could bring a Pole Position (special cheapie of the day!)if anyone is interested.

I am really hoping someone will bring a boxed Astrocade for trade, and a boxed trackball for Coleco.
Any takers on this early trade?
Cassidy
BTW, any of you interested in buying full size games while you are there? I had a lot of interest last year, but few people had trucks to bring them home. And no, SW or CS are not for sale!!

Hi all,
Just thinking about what I am bringing.
Most likely, some boxed 2600 carts, around 100 carts loose for trade, heavy sixer system, Vectrex MultiCarts, Astrocade rare carts (Muncher, Treasure Cove, etc), Sega Master boxed carts, New Gameboy F1 with wiretap kit, Microvision boxed, Gamecom with Williams Classic all boxed. Anyone interested in a Saturn boxed with games?
Bringing the Game Cube for some fun, and of course, Computer Space, Star Wars cockpit, hopefully Night Driver cockpit and a few for sale
I am also going to have some POLO carts for trade. There is a chance I would have a box by then, courtesy of Osmeroid's hard work, but not likely. I will also have a 2600 hooked up so you can play Polo at the booth.
I am looking for a Coleco Trackball boxed with Slither, anything for the Odyssey 1 in the box, an Astrocade in the box.
Anyone wanna tell what they are bringing?

Went though Dallas, Fort Worth about a year ago. Hit every flea market, antiques shop and Goodwill I could find, and did not do well.
Not to say they wern't there, I just did not sense anything on my Ataridar. Saved luggage space, though.

I still have a deadbeat on my heavy sixer auction from a month ago.
I do not understand this phenomena either. One day, something sells for 10 bucks, next its 30. Strange.
Of course, if you really do want something, you go a good ways to get it (think I went like 30 for a boxed Kaboom, only to have three sell the next month for half that!!)

I was at the Winston Salem auction this last weekend, and sort of want the groups concensus whether I am nuts or not.
There were some classics, and they varied in quality but here are some results:
Centipedes: 400-450
Galagas: 550-800
Pac Man 350 (obviously I bought that one!)
Ms. Pac 650 Average of all the ones sold.
Then they had a Bubbles, that went shy of 400, nice piece
Smokey Joe, no picture, played blind 3 of the 4 times it was powered up: 180 scratched sides
Chicago Coin Video Pinball: 70
Taito Qix converted to Trivia Whiz: 80
Pac and Galaxian bare wood cocktail cabinets, no electronics or steel parts: 20/both
Terrible Galaga clone went for over 500!
What do you think? On par, low, high? Just putting these out there.

A can of good electrical contact cleaner will fix those pots right up inside those controllers. Easy to disassemble, worlds of fun when they are clean.
Game on!

You can always trade them to me for some carts you want......?

If you have no RF output, disassemble the machine and resolder any cracked joints on the board where the cable plugs in. If you do not feel comfortable, there are plenty of us on the board that could help.
If the wire itself is bad, that is an easy fix. Get a cheap RCA cable and replace the original one with it. Simple as that. Sometimes the modern RCA's center pole is a hair too long for the old socket inside the 2600, so you just cut the end of it off so it fits.
HTH,

Just wondering what this guys deal is. Used Buy it now on my heavy sixer auction and then never emails me. Its been a week, but I can see he has some good feedback.
Maybe busy with Easter/Passover? Just a thought.
Thanks for any input. Would like to resolve this matter. I would not ordinairly voice this here, except everything he has bid on is 2600. Figure I might get lucky.

Hows this for sprucing up the dead?
Built a Star Wars MAME cabinet. Its the real cabinet, glass, yoke, you get the picture. Then I used a 19 inch SVGA monitor that already was made for mounting in an arcade, a Pentium 4 950mhz Celeron system, 64 megs ram, CDROM, floppy and a 2 Gig hard drive all mounted in the coin box. Power supply mounts on the back of the coin box. So far, the only things I had to modify from the original cabinet are the two pots in the controllers, and a few holes for the components on the metal coin bucket.
Now it plays SW, ESB and ROTJ FLAWLESSLY and uses a set of 40 Watt speakers for the sounds. This thing is more fun to play than my real SW! Neat project and glad it is done.
Anyone know how I install a front end so it boots into the emulator rather than me going to windows with a mouse and finding MAME 32?

Dunno about 80, but www.mcmelectronics.com stands behind what they sell, and I have bought several from them at around 90. Good TFT ones, not LCD. Better picture. Then, just swap the backlight for some super bright LED's, and you are on your way.
HTH.

Still wondering what he is planning on doing with that sealed WW?

My 2600 I played as a kid is under the VIDTARI in the center of the shelves. My Vader is hooked up to the 51 inch in the living room, and there is one hooked up in my classroom. I just sold a heavy sixer, so its in my closet waiting for payment, and just listed a boxed one on ebay. I also have my promo one boxed behind the top boxes (added since the photo). To the right of the shelves are the loose carts in a storage compartment.

It seems to me you would need:
A cartridge slot from a 2600
EPROM Writer
EPROM software
From that and the schematics, make the cartridge slot configure correctly to the port on your writer, and just move the cartridge contents to your computer. Simple as that.
I was under the impression that all 2600 stuff has been dumped, new and old. Of course, its hard to say all, but a good bit.

My money may be limited this year for both PC and CGE. My mothers home just had a fire this week, and every penny I have is going into things for her and that situation.
Strange how priorities change.
If this helps, I took 400 cash to Philly and that got me everything I wanted (except that DANG Coleco TrakBall I got cheap on and would not blow 25 for!). CGE was another story. I blew 450 in the first hour. Crazy Climpber, 25 sealed games, Custers, Supercharger stuff, etc.
My game plan suggestion to keep a lid on things, have an idea what you want on a scale of one to ten. See if your number ones are there first, and decide if the price is fair. You have, and I mean "seconds" to decide. I got my Vectrex in Philly for 40 bucks, but was 3 seconds ahead of the fella that wanted it behind me. Be ready to act, not talk, and five bucks does not make a difference in the end. Get what you want.
Next, go to number two's, etc until you are at your limit. Then, come play Star Wars with me in the arcade. I am always happy to meet people!
Cassidy
BTW, I sell a bunch of stuff on ebay for the few months before the shows so I can have pocket cash.....
-
Count me in. I will be bringing a Star Wars cockpit, Computer Space, Night Driver Cockpit, Wild Western and whatever else I can get my hands on. I will also bring some copies of 2600 POLO Carts for trade. I have a table as well. I will be hooking up a 2600 to show off some rare carts for onlookers. How many people have ever had a chance to play Quadrun or Chuckwagon?
Also should have my Unicart ready by then (plays multiple rom chips by swapping them out). Will be selling a complete Vic 20 setup and maybe a few 2600 packages. Boxed 2600 games and loose.
If you guys are up for it, I am trying to plan an after event trip to Dave and Busters in Philly. No classics, but a rockin good time. That would be Saturday night. Let me know.

Al,
I am looking forward to meeting you at Philly. I will be the one worrying sick about fingers on Computer Space and jean rivets in the Star Wars cockpit game!

Flea Market finds today
in Atari 2600

Found a boxed 6 switch this week for 40, but when I talked to them about it, I got it for 20. Not bad. When I opened it all up, it even has an import Atari Power supply that fits a European outlet and has Atari on the back. I have not found out whether it is PAL or not, but that would rock if it was.
This is the time of year I usually do well. Found a Coleco boxed with 35 games two weeks ago for 25 bucks. Also found a handfull of Intellivision carts.
Fun to find em. Cooler to play them.
