  1. Just wondering what this guys deal is. Used Buy it now on my heavy sixer auction and then never emails me. Its been a week, but I can see he has some good feedback. Maybe busy with Easter/Passover? Just a thought. Thanks for any input. Would like to resolve this matter. I would not ordinairly voice this here, except everything he has bid on is 2600. Figure I might get lucky. Cassidy
  2. Ok, Sorry about that. I was wrong. There are 2! Glib, CTCW, Tooth Protectors, protos a plenty, what the heck is going on? I cannot recall ever seeing quite the buffet of rare games on ebay. Wierd and bankrupting! Cassidy
  3. Just in case your tax return is burning a hole in you pocket. Its got a few days left, and no, its not mine. That one is not for sale Cassidy http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1342874060
  4. I will be at Philly Classic with bated breath. Do you like coin op games? Cuz we can trade one for a WW if you like? Cassidy
  5. Hows this for sprucing up the dead? Built a Star Wars MAME cabinet. Its the real cabinet, glass, yoke, you get the picture. Then I used a 19 inch SVGA monitor that already was made for mounting in an arcade, a Pentium 4 950mhz Celeron system, 64 megs ram, CDROM, floppy and a 2 Gig hard drive all mounted in the coin box. Power supply mounts on the back of the coin box. So far, the only things I had to modify from the original cabinet are the two pots in the controllers, and a few holes for the components on the metal coin bucket. Now it plays SW, ESB and ROTJ FLAWLESSLY and uses a set of 40 Watt speakers for the sounds. This thing is more fun to play than my real SW! Neat project and glad it is done. Anyone know how I install a front end so it boots into the emulator rather than me going to windows with a mouse and finding MAME 32? Cassidy
  6. Dunno about 80, but www.mcmelectronics.com stands behind what they sell, and I have bought several from them at around 90. Good TFT ones, not LCD. Better picture. Then, just swap the backlight for some super bright LED's, and you are on your way. HTH. Cassidy
  7. Just sold 75872S this last week. Telegames heavy sixer, complete with manual and Los Gatos labeled power supply. Cassidy
  8. Still wondering what he is planning on doing with that sealed WW? Cassidy
  9. My 2600 I played as a kid is under the VIDTARI in the center of the shelves. My Vader is hooked up to the 51 inch in the living room, and there is one hooked up in my classroom. I just sold a heavy sixer, so its in my closet waiting for payment, and just listed a boxed one on ebay. I also have my promo one boxed behind the top boxes (added since the photo). To the right of the shelves are the loose carts in a storage compartment. Cassidy
  10. It seems to me you would need: A cartridge slot from a 2600 EPROM Writer EPROM software From that and the schematics, make the cartridge slot configure correctly to the port on your writer, and just move the cartridge contents to your computer. Simple as that. I was under the impression that all 2600 stuff has been dumped, new and old. Of course, its hard to say all, but a good bit. Cassidy
  11. My money may be limited this year for both PC and CGE. My mothers home just had a fire this week, and every penny I have is going into things for her and that situation. Strange how priorities change. If this helps, I took 400 cash to Philly and that got me everything I wanted (except that DANG Coleco TrakBall I got cheap on and would not blow 25 for!). CGE was another story. I blew 450 in the first hour. Crazy Climpber, 25 sealed games, Custers, Supercharger stuff, etc. My game plan suggestion to keep a lid on things, have an idea what you want on a scale of one to ten. See if your number ones are there first, and decide if the price is fair. You have, and I mean "seconds" to decide. I got my Vectrex in Philly for 40 bucks, but was 3 seconds ahead of the fella that wanted it behind me. Be ready to act, not talk, and five bucks does not make a difference in the end. Get what you want. Next, go to number two's, etc until you are at your limit. Then, come play Star Wars with me in the arcade. I am always happy to meet people! Cassidy BTW, I sell a bunch of stuff on ebay for the few months before the shows so I can have pocket cash.....
  12. Count me in. I will be bringing a Star Wars cockpit, Computer Space, Night Driver Cockpit, Wild Western and whatever else I can get my hands on. I will also bring some copies of 2600 POLO Carts for trade. I have a table as well. I will be hooking up a 2600 to show off some rare carts for onlookers. How many people have ever had a chance to play Quadrun or Chuckwagon? Also should have my Unicart ready by then (plays multiple rom chips by swapping them out). Will be selling a complete Vic 20 setup and maybe a few 2600 packages. Boxed 2600 games and loose. If you guys are up for it, I am trying to plan an after event trip to Dave and Busters in Philly. No classics, but a rockin good time. That would be Saturday night. Let me know. Cassidy

Al, I am looking forward to meeting you at Philly. I will be the one worrying sick about fingers on Computer Space and jean rivets in the Star Wars cockpit game! Cassidy
  14. 1. Adventure 2. Superman 3. Warlords Followed closely by Maze Craze, Video Olympics and Indy 500. Cassidy
  15. I built a Soul Caliber about a year ago. What a pain in the butt. Ended up selling it at auction for like a G just to move it. In my opinion, unless you are going to work in fiberglass, a wood cabinet as a starting point is easier than a total new-from scratch. Modifying existing lines is easy; making new ones, that actually hold the monitor properly is tough. Just a suggestion. Cassidy
  16. Just to clarify.... I got an empty (and I mean completely empty) Star Wars cabinet for free. I already have a SW cockpit, and decided to run the emulator route because I can do it a: for the same money b: play all three SW games in one cab (Jedi is raster) c: games like Vapor or Stun Runner use the same controls, and might be easy to convert. I am, in no way, making any changes to the cabinet whatsoever, other than a super good scrubbing. The art is perfect, and I will spend the money for a new marquee. I honestly cannot tell the difference between playing in the cockpit (from a real board) and the emulated one. That is saying a lot (of course, I am running premium emulator stuff, not a dead old pc!). One day she will be converted back, maybe not by me, but by someone. Atari never dies, it just resets. Cassidy
  17. Interested in why you are against an emulator. I have been working this last week on a Multi-Star Wars machine. 19 inch SVGA tube running a 900 Mhz Celeron machine behind it. I have 2 gigs worth of games; from SW, ESB, ROTJ (impossible to play in the same cabinet, although the SW cab does rock compared to the Jedi one!), and others like Spy Hunter, etc....you get the idea Bottom line on the cabinet selection, when it is complete, it will look, feel, act and be safer than an original. I chose this method because I had a nice SW cab, and was not going to invest the money in tempermental old vector stuff for it. I know it is not the REAL thing(I have a real SW cockpit) but this one should be cool too in its own regards. Cassidy
  18. OMG! The 2600 cart is not nuts, its just a fine piece. He had a Pengo earlier this week in the box go for 80. I quit far before that. Its Pengo, I can have the real machine for 150!!! As for that Nintendo thing, good googa. Thats too much for me. And I dont think Adventurevision is overpriced! Cassidy
  19. I think I have 600 binaries for 2600, and the entire folder is like 4 megs. The eprom that Sean uses for the vectrex multi cart is big enough to hold them all, sans the bankswitching issue. The controller hack is a slick trick I had not considered. I wonder if you could add a screen and a port for a second controller, sort of VCSJr-ish. Cool idea. Can anyone get schematics for the Activision piece? Aw, now I have ANOTHER project. Current projects: -Copying Quadrun for a friend. -Building a Multi-Star Wars upright (MAME Machine in a Star Wars cabinet that uses the real Star Wars controls-plays all the vector 2 button games) -Selling all my Transformers G1 collection on ebay -Now this Geehz. Cassidy
  20. I am wanting to get into one and install a cartridge port. Do not know if it could be done, but it would be really cool to do. Honestly, with the technology now, it is no suprise they can make it tiny. Someone posted some pics a few weeks back of the inside. Cassidy
  21. I confess, it has only been the last few years I have really been a 2600 collector. I had viewed the system as too archaic to enjoy. How wrong I was....... The play value of games like Kaboom and Space Invaders are great. Adventure, Haunted House, Warlords, Jungle Hunt and Robot Tank take me back to being on my Huffy going to Chris' house (the guy with a Coleco ADAM, a fish tank in the wall, and a BETA copy of TRON), Big Frog Ice Cream bars, and cheesy 80's music by the Jacksons and Nucleus. You don't collect for the 2600, you experience it. Cassidy
  22. Dude, Go for the cart system if you are a player. That load time is a killer on the single speed, and the carts look way cool in your media rack. I got my Gold system with memory card for around 400. They are out there, good luck, Cassidy
  23. Just the place to help... I have an extra RF box for it. They are a little different configuration than the later ones, but they do the same thing. In a pinch, I have used a Coax cable and some creative wrapping to put an image on the screen. If you plug it in, and it does something, you are in good shape. That is the easiest system on earth to fix. If you have a voltmeter and a pulse, you can fix it. LMK if you need that RF box. 10 bucks and shipping and its yours; or trade you for some obscure 2600 title I will never go out and buy otherwise! Cassidy
  24. http://ralphbaer.com/ is his site. Email him from there! Cassidy Happy Birthday to the man!
  25. I recently found 25 plus boxed 2600 games in the wild. Three were Sears gatefolds from 1977. Incredible condition, and one was still sealed in the plastic. I went through a feast last year (several big number hauls for under 30 bucks) and then months of nothing. The boxed ones were two days before Christmas. It was the best gift I could have found (for myself, that is ). I usually buy the commons in the wild, because I need donors to make other games with. I like to use commons of course, because who wants to destroy a rare label or uncommon cart? I just refuse to pay three bucks for Combat. Something in me just says its wrong. Besides, Combat boards only support 2K games! Cassidy
