  1. http://geocities.com/cassmandoo/arcade_fil...es/image003.jpg Its a shot of my 2 player on. A rare occurence, as I am so anal about letting it stay on. http://www.geocities.com/ecamusements/cs2psm Here is a full size shot of it off. 3200 plays on it. Complete with paint thinner can coin bucket and GE TV inside. Cassidy
  2. I believe there are two models for the Mindlink. One is operational, the other is not. IIRC, there is a story that the one that works was the one shown at the CES show, and it fell off of the demonstration table and broke at the show. It did not really appeal to people who do not like migraine headaches; ie. most of the world. When I inquired as to how much for one about a year ago, price seems to be in line with other rare protos; more than my Corvette. Alas, I will just have to imagine the headaches...... Cassidy
  3. Use the spray contact cleaner from Radio Shack. Its the one with the spray brush, and it works great. I use it on arcade parts, too. My best score (with good paddles) is 5400. I was happy with that, until I saw the scores in Vegas, and they were saying "oh yeah, at 10,000 the bomber gets an Oh face!" How do you find that out? Cassidy
  4. Just for the record: I started reading this board because I love Atari. I kept reading this board because you all rock. I would have any of you in my home for game night, and not worry about some sarcastic jerk ruining it for me. I have made new friends all over the globe, and learned years worth of knowledge in a few months. As for cleaner, I bought a cartridge cleaning kit at EB, and use it for carts of all makes, sizes, etc. I think it uses alcohol. I use Fantastic on the systems outside. Good luck, and welcome to the group! Cassidy
  5. 1 package chicken breasts 1 can Cream of mushroom soup 1 cup white rice Pour rice into cassarole dish, add chicken breasts on top. Cover with mushroom soup and add a can of water to the mix. Cover and cook at 400 for 45 mins to 1 hour. Feeds three if you use a pound of chicken. Basically three meals for one person out of 6 bucks worth of stuff. Its easy, and you can play while its cooking. There is a brand called Washington Biscuit mix. Its like 60 cents, makes like 6 biscuits by adding a cup of water. Goes great wit the chicken. Get a can of green beans or corn (generic, of course) and you are good to go. That hamburger helper stuff always was nasty to me, so I had to come up with alternates. This is one that is presentable to others, too. Cassidy Next time, cheap green chile enchiladas!!
  6. I will wait to see where it goes. I figure 400+ for it. A little out of my range, but would love to have one. Cassidy Think he would trade an arcade for it?
  7. Hi all, I really need a Missile Command board. Have a great machine, but cannot get my board working. I have pulled the eproms, run them on MAME, and know they work; but I cannot get the board going. If you have one you would sell, or trade for some stuff, let me know. Thanks in advance, Cassidy
  8. Drop by for a brew, and you can play mine Game play is bad, graphics are not that bad for its age. It would be at least another 7 or 8 years before the graphics got that complex again. Pong is actually quite primitive by comparison. Cassidy BTW, CS one players go for around 1500-2500 working, 2 players are in the 3-5000 range.
  9. Pole 1 had one track, Fugi. Pole 2 has the same track and three others. They all say Prepare to Qualify, and have identical sounds/cars, etc. There were dedicated Pole 2's, and the side art is people laughing in race gear. Strange. I have three Pole 1's in my garage right now. Anybody interested in one? Cassidy
  10. My goal for next year is to write a game for 2600. I do not intend to learn how to program everything on earth, just a simple game that is addictive to play. Concept is a picnic lunch being attacked by bears. Called the Booga Bear Picnic. Ah yes, the extra time; when I am not planning a wedding or teaching full time... Cassidy
  11. Good finds! Trade you for the Strawberry Shortcake... Most of what I find are super commons. Cassidy
  12. 2600 should be the tank from Combat. Nothing sums up early gaming better than that. For Atari, Bentley Bear has my vote. Mad Bomber should have been Activisions all along. He rocks. Cassidy
  13. Funny to see the different music choices, and then we all have similar taste in games. My player has Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond's 1968 European Tour Album. Great Jazz sounds, and digitalized for todays systems. Take 5... Cassidy
  14. 110 incher in my classroom. We usually play Hydrothunder on it, but Kaboom has made an appearance. That is one big bucket! Cassidy
  15. Hi all, The atari-dar was running today when I was coming home. Hit the thrift store, and bang, a heavy sixer. Complete with book and LeGato Ca. address labels on the power supply and case. This is a 77 sears model. What a neat thing to start the weekend off. I will fire it up tomorrow and shake the dust out. Bad part, paid 25 bucks, and it did not include a game....Win some, lose some. If you think I was going to leave a heavy sixer in the wild, you're out of your mind, at any price!!! Cassidy
  16. They were not ever put in cases. The games were put on roms, yes. However, that I know of, there were never cases made/labels run. Digital Press has some shots of labels in the DPG, but to the best of my knowledge, they are really good home mades. The game uses F6 bankswitching, like all the 16K Atari made carts, so I am sure hozer could do it. My goal for this next year is to build a web page with step by step how to make a cartridge from a binary file. That way, everyone that helped me can be immortalized forever in cyberspace. Cassidy
  17. Just got a promo 2600 off of ebay last week. Great deal boxed for 35 bucks. Thing works and feels like new. I was wondering what, if any, increase in value they have. DPG does not mention them, but I assume there were quite a few of them made, seeing as there are so many out there. Cassidy
  18. Vegas CGE Auction one went 540, IIRC. Fulop was there, so I guess you could get it signed? Neat. Little too much for my tastes, but not outrageous. Have you seen a Computer Space on ebay before? Cassidy
  19. If you are in VA, or want to drive a bit, I will give you a Wood grain sided Pole Position cabinet to convert. Sort of looks like a 2600, ok, only bigger. Cassidy
  20. Have you seen Crystal Castles? Little bears, dancing trees and witches/honeypots. I know Tempest was inspired by a dream, but that is sorta sick, too. I have an ad from For-Play (play on words, more like it) from 76 for a Pong clone. Dudes look ripped in the photo. They are sitting in piles (I mean like up to their chests in quarters. Big gold rings and super-fly haircuts. These early guys rule. Bushnell was no different. Can you imagine the parties at his place? Nolan, you were, are, and always will be, an American Icon. Cassidy
  21. At the hazard of giving away my secret weapon....www.myfonts.com is the place to buy fonts. They are easy to install, I had never done one before. My font is not a perfect match, but it is perfect on 20 of the 30 or so charachters, and the other 10 are passable. The Atari font is a Bauhaus derivative, not sure which one exactly. HTH, Cassidy
  22. Hi all, I am interested in a working 4 switch woodgrain. I do not need controls or switchbox, just the base and maybe the power adaptor. If you have one and would sell it, email me. I do not want to pay ebay prices, as I will be giving it away as a package. I have boxed games and a box already for it, just not another system. I would like to pay with paypal, and could do so today. Thanks in advance. I would also be willing to (partial, I would add cash to it) trade one of my Polo carts, if interested. Cassidy
  23. Found Blue Print and Missile Command for the 2600 about a month ago at EB Game Works. Apparently, they still take them as trades somewhere, of course nowhere nearby..... Good find. Cassidy
  24. Ok, its done. http://www.atarionline.com/unicart.jpg Here is the label if you are interested. The space in the center is where the socket comes through the front of the cartride so you can change the game. Looks neat and works great. Much better than throwing away the chips, and somewhat justifies having them. On a side note, I bought a test board from ebay about 6 months ago, and it had a ROM that said FINAL TEST PULL. I tried it in there, and it turned out to be Asteroids; not worth much, but still neat. Cassidy
