Two more I'd like to see - Frisky Tom and Loco-Motion.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few more side scrollers like Toki, Jailbreak, or even Super Mario Bros. on the 7800. And I think Tetris could be doable...any takers?

I can definitely relate to that. It happens to the best of us. Nearly seven years ago, I had to duke it out on Ebay to get a copy of the Atari 7800 Double Dragon. It took three attempts. The first two I kept getting outbid. The third and final one was tough as I had to slug it out with one persistent bugger. But it was worth it.

I remember the laserdisc game Cliff Hanger which was basically a game with footage of the anime Lupin III. Since this was 1983 and anime didn't occupy the place it does now in USA culture, it didn't seem to take off in the arcades and nobody would make the connection with Lupin until anime became really popular by the late 1990s. Anyone remember that other laserdisc game, Thayer's Quest? I saw an actual game complete with its keypad and I hear a home version was actually made recently for the PC.

A Zelda style game...for the Atari 7800? I'd buy that!

Yes! Burgertime is my all-time favorite video game. Plus the rare sequel, Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory will be in there as well as Joe'n Mac (Caveman Ninja). Now only if someone would make that cancelled sequel, Pizzatime, I'd be in heaven. Hmmm...I wonder if we could have some programmers make a similar game called SushiTime.

I am! And I adore it. It's got the best of SMB, SMB3, and Super Mario World. Nintendo has a surefire winner here.

Last week, I was wandering through the side streets of Lower Manhattan, not far from Union Square. While wandering around, I passed by a video game store called Play'N Trade. At first, I was going to just walk by, thinking it was another game store. Then, an old Atari VCS box in the window caught my attention. Intrigued, I wandered in. Yes, they had two plastic bins in front of the store with old Atari 2600 cartridges! I grabbed Pitfall II: The Lost Caverns, Fishing Derby, and Surround. In addition to Atari titles, they also carry a lot of the newer platforms and some more retro consoles like NES, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, etc. Anyone who's interested - the store is called Play'N Trade and it's located at 137 East 13th Street in Manhattan, New York (between 3rd and 4th Avenue). I may have to go back there!

I wouldn't mind seeing a 7800 port with all four levels, including that conveyor belt level. I hate it how the computer ports like the Atari 800 version always got that missing level lacking in the console versions.

I'm sold. I'll run down to my local Target for some 7800 goodies.

The title of the game is self-explanatory. Basically, Japanese girls in skimpy clothing take on hordes and hordes of zombies. Reactions to the game have been similar to that of Carnival Games and Mario Party 8 - the press has given the game only average reviews, but the gamers have given it rave reviews. I plan to grab this title myself as it is said to be very fun. Does anyone here own the game or has played it? What are your thoughts on it?

I remember the game was planned but cancelled for the 2600 according to AtariProtos.com. I'd love to see that game put out anyway. I used to play the arcade game in Showbiz Pizza years ago. What's more, I wouldn't mind seeing a 7800 version too. I even make a thread about that sometime ago.

Yep the 2600 was quite solid. I may have to grab that. The Sega Master System version though was the best. The Genesis version was completely different. That was designed in Japan and it's more of a 2D platformer.

Toki for the NES - the NES port was a lot easier to beat than the arcade version.

While I prefer the arcade and SNES Punch-Out, the NES Punch-Out had its good points. I like the boxers of Punch-Out like King Hippo, Don Flamenco, Piston Honda, Super Macho Man, etc. That blockhead Bald Bull though was quite tough. You had to hit him just at the right time with his bull charge. I remember having to fight both Honda and Flamenco a second time on the world circuit and they were much harder. In the end, I defeated them by decision.

I have a combination DVD recorder and player/VCR. And this is capable also of playing S-VHS which I've never actually watched before.

I prefer the original arcade Punch-Out games as well as the SNES game. I never did like Little Mac. I preferred the generic see-through wireframe boxer you played in the above versions.

Censorship, be it video games, books, film, etc., is not merely something done by right-wingers (i.e. evangelical conservatives). Plenty of left-wingers too have been guilty of favoring the practice, especially on grounds of political correctness. But no matter who does it (Democrat, Republican, conservative, liberal, Green, etc.), it's wrong to prevent free exchange of ideas be it in the form of a novel, black-and-white photographs, a sound recording, or a video game!

This doesn't seem to be anything new. When it comes to the complex problems facing our society these days, especially involving juveniles, people find it better to throw a simple solution at the problem in the hopes of it going away. We saw in the 1950s with first comic books and then the newly created genre of music known as rock being blamed for problems with youth. Ever since their inception in the late 1970s, video games have always been a convenient target for adults out there to blame for causing everything from crime to obesity to promoting violence against women. I just wish there was a way to stop the insanity.

Ghost and Goblins - that was just annoying having to start all over. How about Super Pitfall? That game was as frustrating as trying to pick up water with your bare hands. And funny the Ninja Gaiden games should be mentioned. I hated the first one (or was it the second?) that had those birds that could kill you. Considering the game was made in Japan, I have to wonder what is it with the Japanese and killer birds? Do birds routinely kill people in Japan?

We've had Nintendo Monopoly and now Donkey Kong Jenga. What's next? Sonic the Hedgehog Sorry? Pacman Stratego?

I played it years ago in XS, a big arcade in Times Square NYC...or it used to be. It's gone now. That was a fun game. I loved driving around in that tank and blowing stuff up.

What I'd really like to see is a version of Donkey Kong that has all four levels from the arcade, including that conveyor belt level that is missing from all the console versions. Could this be replicated on the 7800?

I say it should be Impossible Mission. The game should be made beatable!
