  1. While we are on the subject of the light guns for Wii, what games on the console actually are compatible with light guns? The only one I know of is Link's Crossbow Training.
  2. By downloading, I don't think so. Another physical medium...maybe. It depends on whether or not they can improve on disc technology or something even better.
  3. I got my stuff from Kaybee Toystores and later some of the department stores like Sears and Walmart.
  4. Yes, it goes on forever and ever. The 2600 Mario Bros was good but I hated it how that version had the fireballs be indestructible. At least in the other ports you could kill them by punching them from below.
  5. To be honest, a version of Donkey Kong with all four screens from the arcade game, including the conveyor belt level, would be cool.
  6. The animation in the Zelda CD-I titles looked like a Monty Python cartoon!
  7. Legendary Wings and Popeye are two on my list. I discussed those in past threads and I think they could be pulled off. How about Tutankham? Could the 7800 handle a game like that?
  8. Don't forget Combat, the original Atari 2600 pack-in. Give Circus Atari a try as well. It's a lot of fun with two players, and the death scene is funny. My brother and I used to play this game; we'd deliberately die just to laugh at the clown's head splattering and limbs flailing. Mario Bros, Fishing Derby, Freeway, Boxing (Activision), Super Breakout, Warlords, and Kangaroo are a few more that come to mind. Give those a shot too.
  9. No, I'm talking about the 360 release. Which I'd assume is the same as the PS3 and Wii versions. Ah. Well, you're right. From what I've seen in screenshots and video footage, they look the same. I wonder if Hasbro Family Game Night for Wii and PS2 are any better than Monopoly.
  10. I own the Wii title Carnival Games and it's a favorite of mine. In response to the success of the original (over one million copies sold), a sequel emphasizing miniature golf has been put out. Carnival Games Mini-Golf sounds and looks like an awesome game, but how does it actually play? Is it worth getting?
  11. That may be one of my Xmas grabs. I saw a video review for it on G4 and I am impressed. While I'm still having fun with the 3D action games I have like Super Mario Galaxy and Lego Indiana Jones, I'd like to get this 2D game.
  12. I presume you're talking about the recent Wii release. The party game feature with all those mini-games is neat. However, like with the actual boardgame, the video game Monopoly takes a long time to play. For now, I'll stick with the Monopoly card game. It's this neat rummy type game that is much shorter than the board or video version.
  13. Super Pac-Man for the Atari 7800? I returned to this board just in time for a great surprise! Keep working on it!
  14. All three Super Mario Bros. games for the NES are a must have. Also go for Wrecking Crew; this action/puzzle game is a pip! If it's light gun titles, there's the old reliable Duck Hunt. Gumshoe is another good choice.
  15. Donkey Kong Jr. for the Atari 2600 - I wanted Popeye instead but we got DK Jr. instead. We played through it, but it's nothing like the arcade game. It doesn't have all the levels and the graphics were weak. DK Jr. looked awful and Donkey Kong still looked like a chipmunk!
  16. Leevers...AUGH! I watched this commercial both in New York and down south in North Carolina.
  17. I already own an Atari 7800 with a fair amount of games and since I can play the 2600 library, that doubles the fun. That said, I've been seriously thinking about getting a 5200 unit. I understand that some games are just rehashes of 2600 titles, albeit with superior graphics. But there are a few gems on it. And the biggest challenge are those awful controllers. Is an Atari 5200 worth getting? If so, what games would you recommend and what controller replacements would be advised?
  18. Yes you should. Besides having the 2600 library, there are some good arcade ports like Double Dragon, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Commando, Ikari Warriors, Rampage, etc. and even a few original titles like Ninja Golf, Basketbrawl, and Midnight Mutants. A 7800 is a good purchase.
  19. I always viewed Adventure with a sense of wonder. That and the fact that the game 3 variation is random each time. I wish more games were random like that.
  20. At least it looks better than that Star Trek: the Motion Picture game for the Vectrex. That I might add had nothing to do with the movie. Plus the Starfleet bases look like sombreros!
  21. Do we have any fans of the Shining Force games here? I adore them and have played SF1 and 2 for Sega Genesis over and over again. I really like the RPG mechanics of buying equipment and levelling up your characters combined with the war simulator aspect where your force takes on an entire division of baddies. I've never played any of the Shining Force Game Gear titles though nor have I played SF CD for Sega CD or SF3 for Saturn.
  22. It's an awesome game. I'm enthusiastic about Lego Indy and Lego Batman.
  23. Counting the Virtual Console and GameCube, here's what I got. WiiSports WiiPlay Mario Party 8 Super Mario Galaxy Carnival Games Pinball Hall of Fame: the Williams Collection Shining Force (VC) Super Mario Bros. 3 (VC) Super Mario World (VC) Wrecking Crew (VC) Gauntlet Dark Legacy (GC) Lego Star Wars (GC) Super Mario Sunshine (GC) On my to-get list are Mario Kart Wii, Lego Indiana Jones, Wonderworld Amusement Park, and Sam and Max Season One.
  24. Anyone own this title? It was my first purchase after I got my Wii bundle from Gamestop. For the uninitiated, it's a mini-game title involving several midway games that you'd find at your local fairgrounds. They've got many of the traditionals like balloon darts, dunk tank, ring toss, shooting gallery, test your strength, and even a love tester and fortune telling machine! It got mediocre reviews from many of the Wii review publications, but they can't argue with its success. It's sold over 800,000 copies for the Wii. Not bad at all. Anyone else here like this title?
  25. I have it myself and it's a pretty cool game. Funhouse is my favorite of the title. I used to love playing that in the arcades.
