I want a Kraftwerk game - that would rule. Stand as still as possible and play the little plastic keyboard.
As for Guitar Hero, I'm kinda coming round to it (I previously didn't want a house full of stupid plastic instruments) now I realise you can disassemble the and put it away. Got a PS3 but I understand that Guitar Hero III is fairly difficult for a new player, isn't it?
Is Guitar Hero: World Tour worth getting as a guitar only pack? Can't afford/won't pay that kind of money for the rest of the gear.
Also, do you have to use their microphone to sing in GH:WT? Can't a bluetooth headset be used?

It was a huge mistake using those PowerPC processors in the 360. They were the same ones used in the G5 line of Macs (more or less).
They are not the kind of chips you'd want in a small box like the 360's. There was a good reason why we never saw an Apple G5 powered Powerbook - it'd burn your nuts off.

R-Type Delta? That's more like it.

Surely this is a chance for Squaresoft to make some easy money through old PS1 game sales. Everyone's been wanting FFVII for ages. I'd personally like them to release Xenogears. I imported it years ago but it never got a European release.
Heck, if this is the PSP's year (as Sony keep saying), then surely a few classic PS1 titles to play on it would be a system seller for quite a few people.

You're all terribly clever

I pretty much wrecked a 2600jr doing a composite mod on it. I've never found a good solution for PAL machines (and my soldering is terrible). It works but the colors are insane.
Um...I stuck some woodgrain on my Xbox. No?

On the Heavy Sixer, Chuck Norris is ALWAYS player 2.
-
Not for a long long time. I can't get a 2600 to work properly on an LCD TV. Pity, I'd like to play some Atari again.

About time. The US and Euro stores are pretty starved. They just seem to be full of terrible forgotten EA games that no-one bought then.
Odd thing, Silent Hill was in the UK store a few weeks back. I didn't buy it straight away but came back a week or so later and it was gone! What's going on there? Was i imagining it?

All I'm waiting for is a real user-friendly way to play Robotron, Outrun and DoDonPachi on my PS3. Then my modded Xbox will be completely replaced. I can't help but feel that the speed isn't quite there yet under Linux. Outrun looked slow and sounded terrible on that Youtube video.

Right, so you agree. Beautiful Katamari was a remake of Katamari 1+2 and Katamari Forever contains the same levels presented in 1080p with a different "plot" to wrap up the levels, a few extra levels tacked on, and the ability to change change the look to cell-shading if it strikes your fancy. Got it. Hopefully the game will be priced accordingly.Fine, Moycon. Yes. It's exactly the same game.

No
The anime series it's based on is not for kids. I did used to have the game. Lots of character but a bit repetitive. Funny though. -
Edge didn't like it? I thought they'd be the only ones who did. Edge don't like games, they like 3D engines.
It does look staggeringly dull. I see they've also made the classic mistake of losing all the vibrant color of the original game. Drab=grown up it seems.

OK

I'm sure they were in Beautiful Katamari. Still, this new game is a remake of Katamari 1+2 with some extra levels thrown in to fit a new story arc.
See, the 'plot' is this:
The King of the Cosmos is in a kind of coma. The baddie, Roboking, has taken control and, while the new levels will be in service of the Robo King, the rest will be going over old Katamari 1+2 levels in order to help the real King regain his memory and wake up.
Just because the same levels were in BK, there's absolutely no reason to assume it'll be a similar game as BK is widely regarded as a bit of a false step in the series mainly, I guess, because of the control and all the silly DLC.
Certainly the control will be miles better. The sticks are in the right place on the PS3 pad and, of course, Namco already have a control system for dual shock pads from the PS2, screwing it up would actually take effort on their part.
The music will be mixed versions of tracks from all previous Katamari games (including BK, although Guru Guru Gravity is an awesome song).
Namco haven't announced DLC details yet. I'm sure there'll be some but, given that we already know that most of the decent levels and music from the first games are already part of the main game, nothing critical.
I think the only thing that can ruin this are the new Robo King levels. Might be fun, might suck, but they're the only unknown.
I'm still hotly anticipating this. It'll be a nice sign off for a great series (and it means I won't have to get the PS2 out again).

Apart from the graphics, there are just a couple of new areas in the PS3/360 game as well as extra downloadable levels.
-
Is this just Beautiful Katamari with a few new cell-shaded levels tacked on?It's not Beautiful Katamari at all. It's the first two games interspersed with a few new levels. So, even though Keita Takahashi hasn't worked on it, his levels are here in lovely Hi-Def.
On the Takahashi front, today's 1.1 update of Noby Noby Boy is superb and it's well worth a purchase now. Much more varied sound and offline multiplayer.
-
When were those days? Videogaming has been a constant stream of sequels from day 1.
Still, I take your point. Some games are best left alone. Still, with this one at least we got a hi-def 2D game to enjoy while they were busy making the inevitable dull 3D remake.

I'm pretty keen on getting the new Resident Evil shooter - an on-the-rails blast through Resi 2 & 3. Fun.
-
Yeah, it is rechargeable. Almost all consoles have the same thing.
-
I've been through all sorts of connectivity options for the Wii, including 2 component leads - a third party and then the official one.
Component is a little better than the basic leads but really not that much. The video circuity in the Wii is awful. My Saturn and PS1 look infinitely sharper than the Wii.
As for the 360. Component can technically be used for 1080p for games and 1080i for HD-DVD (like anyone cares) but new TVs generally won't accept 1080p through anything except HDMi - it's just a copy protection thing.
-
I quite agree with the pissed-offeness here. That said, the PS3 version is marginally (and it's a small margin) better looking than the 360 game so it's not all 'lose'.
Not sure what Betheseda are going to do about this. When I picked up Oblivion, I got the Game of the Year edition and so consequently got for free all the stuff that 360 owners had to pay for. Mind, if I'd have picked Oblivion up on day one, I'd have been really annoyed to have been forced to buy another copy of the game just to get the extra content.
I hope that the inevitable Game of the Year edition isn't the only way to get the extra stuff. Bet it will be though.

I must admit, I never get my 2600s out anymore. I rely entirely on Xbox emulation for my Atari now.
Reason? PAL 2600s look terrible on LCD flatscreens.
If I could find a decent mod for a PAL machine, I'd go back to consoles.
-
Frogger. I have the box but I lent the cartridge to someone a while back and they cleared off. Swines.
Also, Cave In. But then, it's not out yet because I haven't done the manual. Better get a wiggle on

-
I'll also leave it for the time being. After playing Flower on the PS3, it's clear that, in the right hands, the Sixaxis is a truly fantastic motion control device. I don't need another just yet.
Still, watching with interest.

I enjoyed the demo. I'd pick it up but, right now, my heart belongs to Outrun Online Arcade.

What is the best wireless controller for the old Xbox?

The Logitech controller you want for the Xbox (there are a couple) is the Logitech Cordless Precision controller. If you can't get one new, source one second hand. They are awesome. Perfectly weighted, great buttons and a lovely rubberised coating that makes it easy to hold for long periods. Pretty much the best controller ever made IMHO.
