Releasing a 1.5 update with it's own exclusive software this far into the DS's life is a really dumb move. Aside from the fact that it'll continue to sell for a while just because it's a DS, this really is Nintendo's 32x. I predict DSi exclusive games will be as numerous as exclusive Super Scope or ROB games were. I work in a Primary school and it's really interesting to see what the kids are playing. They've all got DS, but there is a definite move to PSP, even amongst the girls. The DS is really showing it's age now. Update: Just seen the announced UK price for the DSi. £149!!! It is at this juncture that I must cordially invite Nintendo to get bent.

I'd get a slim. Small, reliable, quiet and they can be modded for imports with three little bits of plastic (Magickey), no opening the case, no invalidating any warranty. Nice.

Make the next Playstation controller LOOK different, apart from that, it's fine. Oh, and being a happy Sixaxis user, I'd like the option to not have rumble in the next wave of controllers, it adds weight, wastes battery and it's just a gimmick that should have been left in the 90s.

On DaytonaUSA's recommendation, I'm playing Little Big Planet, best gaming purchase since Panzer Dragoon Saga. Just spent the whole of last week meticulously crafting a level entitled "ZX Spectrum Adventure". Just working on the weapons and pyrotechnics for the final battle now - how do you make Alan Sugar's head explode without damaging the Spectrum 128 that he's hanging from? Truly a question for our times. Also enjoying Noby Noby Boy. This is why I bought a PS3, for crazy stuff like this.

It's really lovely. More of an art piece than a game, I guess, but Keita Takahashi is a really great artist, so that's fine I do like the way that your score gets you nowhere, but the whole world's score combined is what moves the game along.

So it's a new game in the PSU series then and not just a remix? I might have to get it now. Tempest No, it's not. It's just a PSP port of Ambition of the Illuminus. So, apart from the PSP ad-hoc mulitplayer, and a r , there's nothing new here. Phantasy Star Zero is, however, a completely new story.

After seeing shots of Rogue Leader, I was absolutely delirious to get a Gamecube. Ended up getting an import as it got released a full 6 months late in UK.

I'm playing Little Big Planet whenever I can, along with the usual background noise of Ridge Racer 7, WipeOut HD and Everybodys' Golf World Tour. Currently too busy enjoying the ZX Spectrum emulation on my new DS R4 card. I'm actually typing in listings from Sinclair User magazine! Regarding GRID. I know what you mean, it's a bit of a mess. If only all of the races were like that San Francisco even with the Mustangs. That was fine.

I'll pass. I was terrible at SF 2 through 3. BTW, Daytona - is your controller stick working OK now? That's going to make SF interesting. Although not as interesting as playing Soul Calibur on DC with the fishing rod. That's a mans controller!

Worth remembering that the PS1 support on the PS3 is software, and even with the right region, it may not play all of your games. My PAL unit won't run Wip3Out for instance. I'd really recommend picking up a second hand slim PS2, for PS2 & 1 games (You're certain to have room for it, it's tiny) and maybe using this as an excuse to pick up some Japanese exclusive PS1 titles, you lucky devil.

There is. Phantasy Star Zero. However, zero is a unique game rather than a port or sequel. I've seen it running and it's pretty impressive 3D graphics for the DS, lots of character customisation and nice Pictochat type dialog (remember the symbol chat from Phantasy Star Online?). Looks a lot more like PSO than PSU. I think it's the version I'll be getting.

I don't mind it when they're fairly short, like in Rogue Leader and some of the Ace Combats. Adds some depth to the proceedings and it's often fun to be the 'White Knight' to ships in distress. I particularly like the Ison Corridor level in Rogue Leader.

I've got one of those high capacity R4 cards. Excellent bit of kit. Have installed a few emulators on it (8 bit only, the DS struggles with anything else), FTP software and Doom DS. The ZX Spectrum emulators and SCUMMVM DS are superb. Stella is good but pretty slow. Don't think I'll be playing DS games on it, they're just not as interesting as the old stuff. Oh, and the OS is skinnable which is a plus.

Just to clarify, Phantasy Star Portable is not an online game and there is no hunters license to buy. It's more like Monster Hunter, multiplayer short range. And it is Phantasy Star Universe. Well, it's the expansion at any rate. Just a portable version. Great game though judging by the demo. Certainly considering picking it up myself. I like the fact that you now have fairly intelligent NPCs so you don't have to adventure alone. I always wanted offline PSO to feel more like online PSO.

Is it good? I've looked at it a couple of times but never picked it up. As for good games for me, DaytonaUSA has introduced me to the marvellous world of Little Big Planet. Being, as it is, more of a full blown dev. kit than a game, it's going to keep me wildly busy for ages. Confidence in gaming restored! Actuall, Manuel, if you ever get a PS3, I'd heartily recommend it. You've obviously got a keen eye for game design, I'd love to see what you could do with this.

Elebits is nice. I do have it, although they stupidly called it Eledees here. Goodness knows why, it's a stupid pun. @cybergoth - De Blob and Boom Blox do look great. At the moment, though, I'm not really in the market for a puzzle game. Some great suggestions from you all though.

Flow is nice. I've got that. There are some quality things on PSN store, Everyday Shooter being another. @kisrael - I loved Animal Crossing. Had it on GC and DS. Nintendo are taking the p**s with the Wii version though. I'm not buying the same game again. As for Excite Truck, brilliant game and, apart from Endless Ocean, is still the only reason I've still got the Wii. It's odd, arcade racers usually work best on the fastest, flashest gear. Yet here we have an offroad racer that totally eclipses both Motorstorms and Pure. And I've got the original Fable on Xbox. Being English, and a midlander, I just got sick of the yokel villagers all sporting stereotype 'brummie' accents. Fable was made in very southern Guildford and I guess that's what they think thick people sound like.

I'll have a look now. As for collaborative level creating... I know I'd get REALLY possessive When I'm painting, I just vanish from view and don't show anyone until it's finished. Having someone else working on the same thing fills me with dread.

Played a few hours of Little Big Planet. Superb! The main game seems to be simply a demo of what you can build yourself, so I'm only playing it to pick up bits. I'm LOVING playing everyone elses creations, played a brilliant Ghostbusters level last night. Thanks Daytona, I'm really going to get lost in this. Also, I'd forgotten that Stephen Fry does the tutorials. Greatest living Englishman and he's on my game! Sweet. Anyway, I'm going to get planning on my BigTrak level. Still need a few more bits. The mission (if I can manage it) is going to be to get BigTrak to take an apple to your dad (just like the old advert)

Got Little Big Planet. It's installing it's updates now. Damn, Sony's servers are slow. I could load 67Mb quicker from tape!

Amen to that. Zelda pissed me off for exactly the same reason. Warhawk does look fun. Might pick a copy of that up. My PSN name is also Liveinabin. On the subject of arcade racers, might I suggest Ridge Racer 7? It's cheap now and very slick. Not as good as Ridge Racer 4, but then what is? As for Fallout3, haven't played it, but I'm quite enjoying (on occasion) Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, also by Bethseda, which is, I'd guess, the D+D equivalent of Fallout3. Nice world to explore, truly huge. Getting a little tired of nearly everything you meet 'on the road' being hostile. Can't we do communication in games? Captain Blood managed it back in '88. Oh, and I'll pass on SF4. I didn't grow up with SF type fighters, therefore I suck. They seem to require the kind of dexterity that can only have been learned in ones early years. Maybe it's that or maybe I never cared enough who fell over first. Still, Blanka's back in it. Yay.

LBP does sound good.....You know what? I'm going to go and buy it right now. As for warhawk, my only concern, as with all online games, is that I'll go online, where nearly everyone else plays it all the time, and just get massacred.
