  1. Hey Thomas, maybe you can release a pink version - for the ladies
  2. the time now is precisely @716 beats. That dragon on Ragol should just about be waking up.
  3. I got internet time on my Swatch 'beat' The only thing I can use it for is to tell the time in Phantasy Star Online. Not very useful for work
  4. As far as carts on a UK VCS go, check the screen display of your game against a screenshot on Atariage, if the colours are violently different, it's NTSC. I've got Tennis with a blue court and Skiing with blue trees and an orange man
  5. quote: Originally posted by Ze_ro: Sadly, Sega decided not to release it in North America yeah, I'm in UK, theres tons of copies here Sorry to be smug, but you guys across the pond ALWAYS get stuff we don't (xenogears on ps1 for example)
  6. Keep the atari and whore yourself. You know it makes sense!!
  7. A scart 7800? wow, this is exactly what I need for my Pal tv. Thats even better than a composite mod. I'm heading for french ebay!!
  8. I wish I had the choice
  9. I guess the main ship was a bit big, but at the same time, the enemy ships in classic defender were big also - which I won't complain about cause I was terrible at hiting them in the arcade version I think the best things about Defender were 1) that gun noise! 2) those particle explosions. And they're all well and truly there so I take my hat off to you. By the way, being VERY new to Jag, I haven't been fortunate enough to have played Tempest 2000 yet. i've played Tempest X but I hear you hated that, what's the difference between the two?

    Jag Scart

I do, absolutely! the official Jag scart lead is one thick, well-made, well-shielded SOB. Great picture quality.
  11. I don't mean that the 7800 is emulating, but more that i'd rather get the full hardware experience from a game, I'd only play 7800 titles on a 7800. 2600 titles on a 2600, Only ps2 titles on a ps2 (if there were any I'd want to play) and...er ..oh well I DO have Pokemon crystal loaded into my Gameboy Advance, but that's more so I can show off my Pokemon center GBA to passing kids I guess its the difference in playing defender on the dedicated cabinet or the same game on a generic cab. just feels right.
  12. I personally like to play the game on the system it was designed for and playtested on. So 2600 games have to be played on a 2600. Anything else and I might as well be using an emulator.
  13. I can't help but think, in a few years time, the Dreamcast is going to have one of the biggest retro followings of any console ever. i'd better start stockpiling Shenmue 2's
  14. £30 still? Oh well, keep watching them, they'll put them down to a tenner when they don't sell.
  15. Oh, by the way, strafing in the Jag version is primary-school easy, just hold 'C' and move left or right. Jag Doom is still blocky but it moves so smoothly it doesn't matter. there's hardly any music (which works well) but the FX are great - partic chainsaw!! The only thing that sucks about it is the Map screen, very blocky and you cant run around with the map on. Oh crud, i was gonna offer to find a Jag for you, but my girlfriend has just informed me that our local EB has sold out - but on the plus side, that also means that she was in EB at the Jag section christmas shopping - yay!!!
  16. fretwobbler, if you want a Jag, you'd better get one in the next couple of days. EB and (so I'm told) Game have been selling them pretty cheap for a while, but for the last couple of weeks they've been selling Jags (brand new ones - mind!) for £9.99, and games (including doom) for £7.99. i got mine at the weekend and it was still sealed - they even had official jag scart leads! obviously, what with Xmas and all, these are gonna be gone REAL soon so snap one up! Even if you don't live near either store, i'm sure you'll agree, it's worth the bus fare
  17. Oh my word!!! What a great game is this!! I've played doom lots before (of course) but being able to play it on a joypad (my preference) and have the luxury of well layed out keys for each weapon is bliss. I've never seen such a wonderful use of keypad for a game. I must get a copy of Alien vs Predator to go with it, otherwise my poor doom cart'll never get a holiday.
  18. just seen some shots of tempest 3k and I want a nuon!
  19. Sorry to be the token foreigner, but does anyone know a good way to comp mod a PAL system? By the way, well done on completing your mod, you're a braver man than I God bless you and all who sail in you!
  20. you'll need to make sure both Vanilla Ice drivers are sync'd in correct hammertime
  21. This is too cool. As soon as they get sound installed (and maybe a bit of paddle action from the analogue stick), I'm gonna be in gaming heaven, just one query, can I burn this to CD from a Mac?
  22. Do I feel a heel now!! By the way, I loved Defender 2 on the Amiga - and gridrunner kicked ass.
  23. This is it, all I'm using the Jag controller for is as a shell with some buttons in, I'll rewire the innards totally. Its just that, when looking inside the INTV controller, working out what key does what is a total nightmare!
