yeah, they did it on Defender too, I kinda like it, at least they're not treating their public like idiots, and they realise that we have actually played the arcade versions. It'd be nice if latter day conversions adhered to this - Double Dragon for instance.

Well yeah, to be honest - pretty much all my favourite stuff comes from the first couple of years. take game number 1 for example - Combat - absolutely superb!

is Thrust as good as the home computer versions? i used to love that game. After playing it on emulator, I must get a copy of Qb - brilliant game! (if you ever need a label for that one, I'll be only too happy)

I'm with Rhindle on Pokemon - it's not often nowadays we get originality, so we shouldn't take the piss out of it - genius game (but collecting all 251 gets dull quickly - I got to 225 and quit). i think none of the games should have been made. if it wasn't for countless hours blown on videogames I'd probably be a commercial illustrator by now.

I honestly haven't played it yet, I must do. 2 player games are what the 2600 really excells at. isn't it just a gunfight clone?

The aim of Quadrun is to :- a) find a copy b) display on shelf / at swapmeet c) attract impressed / envious looks from fellow collectors I think that's about it, though I hear if you actually (god forbid) remove the cart from the box and actually have the blasphemous audacity to insert it in a common 2600, there is some kind of game, not sure what though.

Wow, really? I didn't know that. i think the industry must have learned from their mistake, this never having been repeated. However, this has happened in other fields, recently Dorking Kindersley were crippled and sold off cheap because they made loads of Episode 1 books that didn't sell.

if I saw that lot in a thrift shop in UK, I'd be over the moon, I have NEVER even seen ONE cartridge in a charity shop here. The only Atari item I've ever seen was a boxed six-switch - woodgrain, and I bought that. ....and that was 5 years ago.

Thanks a lot C.Schell. i think prob. the best way to go about this (as this Atari is going to be CD only anyway) would be to import an NTSC 2600, composite mod it (so my PAL tv can convert the signal) and all should be well. Of course, this way I'll have access to a far greater library of games than I would with my PAL unit.

i think the movie is the only place where the Trade center was to make an appearance.

Atari had way more than 2600 problems, they had about 5 million of them - and they're in a landfill somewhere

I don't mind either It'd actually be real interesting to see the tastes of a (mostly) american cross-section of the community. I do feel my painting is generally more european. Oh yeah, don't anyone do a 5200 contest as there wouldn't be any point in me entering - after all - what the hell would I play the game on??
