I'd like to see some old Ultimate games and Jetset willy or Manic miner, they were old Zx Spectrum titles that really broke new ground, it'd be nice for them to have a wider international stage.
-
alright, if its ports we're after:-
how about the Intellivision game -
Tron - Solar sailer.
Its such a great game. But that stupid controller is getting on my nerves!!!
Come to think of it- yeah - this'll be my first home project, I'm going to rebuild the Intellivision - with decent controllers this time
-
Now THATS a hidden message.
Hidden in a game that no-ones got.
way to go!
-
I HATE that sumguy. he's sitting smug at home playing on MY vectrex!!!!
I bet my Bigtrak is in his attic too
-
hehe. v cool. I could do with a new one, i'm seeing this little criminal all over the place now
-
What's going on anyway, the music industry just does covers, and the games industry just does rereleases.
The reason we all love these games is because they were totally new and fresh when we first played them. I think modern gamers deserve the same feeling. New games please
-
hang on a bit! We're talking about a 4k 9or whatever) game on a very powerful console!
Why can't Activision just do what they did on the PC and release all of the 2600 games on 1 cart?
Much as I love Atari, I'm sure as hell not paying £35 for a cartridge I've already got to play on a screen I can't see
-
hmmm, BRIDGE is featured in all the UK catalogues. there's GOT to be a PAL version somewhere, I'll keep looking
-
Kaboom is inherently an analogue control game, just as much as pong is.
Therefore, the GBA just couldn't do it any justice....sorry.
-
sorry, checked all my resources here, can't find any evidence they ever existed on PAL, hmmm - and I'm trying to collect all the early Activision titles, I'd be interested to know if these ever got released here so I won't waste time looking for em
-
can't help but think they're gonna bomb.
I love these games, but I wouldn't spend $30 to have them on a console that can do(and should be doing) so much more.
I think even releasing rehashed Super mario 2 on GBA was a lame idea.
People interested in this stuff (well, interested enough to part with that amount of cash) will prob. already have ataris or at least emulators.

my god , these controllers sound awful, kinda glad we never had the 5200 here in UK.
any way to mod an intellivision controller to work on one?
-
looking forward to the game by the way, thanks for letting me know about the PAL compatibility
Oh yeah, I'm a professional illustrator, if you need a bit of artwork (free) let me know

'The Rom-buyer strikes back' springs to mind
-
yeah, but combats such a simple premise that a remake is gonna be alot like any other game. Heck, Unreal tournament is just combat! I don't think we're gonna see any more original games for a while, you always get this at 'new console' time.
-
haha, then I could attach the whole thing toa tiny screened 1940's tv set, and cool the thing with enormous fans.
The idea of a piston engine, coal powered 9v generator seems doable. maybe an atari that can only be used outside.

I was watching Ghostbusters on DVD yesterday (I LOVE that movie) and they have 3 arcade machines at their HQ that I can't identify, anyone know?
-
Why?? we've already played all these games on other systems. I'd like to see new stuff for the 2600, but NEW stuff.
-
how can Pitfall 3 be regarded as a NEW GAME??
ANYWAY:-
HERO would seem the most workable idea.
I personally would love to see a big 3d sprawling Keystone Kapers, imagine it, you could do the graphics in that flickery sepia too-fast film style. it'd be nice to have a western game that wasn't trying to be 'ard!.
Oh yeah, aren't we all WELL overdue for a new Ghostbusters game????
-
Well I like Dragster, its just a simple game of skill - and if you screw it up, thats only 6 seconds of your life you've wasted. nice.
Worst activision game, I can't have a go at any of the early ones - even if the games aren't too great - they've got lovely boxes
Ghostbusters 2 then, shameful movie tie in.
-
I've been toying with the idea for a while, of making an Atari vcs as big as I possibly can, by using really big inefficient old components (obv I'd have to stick with a few chips, maybe building it into a tv set.
The possibilites are endless - enormous joysticks and paddle controllers, difficulty switches like those ones they use to krank juice into Frankensteins monster!
What do you think?
-
he is an evil genius!!
-
you wouldnt need to make pirated game cds for an xbox mame, you'd just go online with the console and download rom files to the hard drive
-
Its not a heavy sixer. Its a PAL Atari-wong VCS unit. I suppose, because its aerial lead is hard wired, and the console IS getting on for 25, it could be a bit worn out.
