  1. I love it. I also love the option of 'pilot assist' which (although I know it's 'for beginners') addresses a lot of the issues of control I've always had with Wipeout over the years. It also seems to have a much better difficulty curve, another traditional Wipeout problem. All in all, I have to say it's my favourite Wipeout ever. Absolutely stunning visuals, both in design and implementation. And Kraftwerk on the soundtrack!!! What's not to like? Anyone played with the photo mode yet? What a thing that is! Pause game (or replay), pick a ship, move the camera around 'till you have the shot you want, alter the exposure/saturation/depth of field etc. and presto! You have an awesome hi resolution jpeg. Haven't plucked up the courage to go online yet. May never do so. I'm increasingly being put off the online side of most games. All you ever get is 'career players' who just thrash you every time. Dull. Still, vertical and horizontal split screen offline multiplayer is there.
  2. I downloaded the first level demo of it on PS3 today. My god, I knew it was old-school hard, but this is eating me alive. Cool game though. Only slight gripe is that, while I love the 2D bitmappedness of it all, and the killer soundtrack, making it look EXACTLY as if it was running on a NES is, for me, a step too far. Still, as my lack of skill will no doubt demonstrate, I'm not the Mega Man target audience.
  3. There are lots of third party cheap cables to let you plug a PS2 pad into one of the PS3's USB ports. I've got one. They work fine. Rumble is generally supported although many have problems with dedicated controllers (guitars, jogcon etc).
  4. Absolutely. I'd love the superior FM towns version, just to see a dedicated FM towns section in the VC. Bit of a long shot, I think
  5. I'd like to see them man the hell up and release some Lucasarts point and click games on the VC. An official release of Monkey Island and Sam n Max (particularly in light of the new Wii game) would be a good move.
  6. If you don't already own it on PC, it is a MUST BUY! It harkens right back to the days of the Lucasarts point and click adventures but manages to be even better and funnier than they were. Utter, utter genius.
  7. According to Kotaku, it looks like Capcom will indeed be offering the press pack up for sale on their website.
  8. On the Tron theme, Tron Solar Sailer would be great on the PS3 Um, Scud Race on the Dreamcast More Zak McKracken for anything. Oh, and Endless Ocean on any system but Wii. Then I could put the damn thing away
  9. I've got a Mac SE. It's got some games and a handle on it. Bloody heavy.
  10. It is a fast reliable network. You were just getting an update, that's all.
  11. I like the updates. You generally get new features for free. I'm not going to complain about that.
  12. So you hate a system because, when you wanted to show someone a game, it was doing an update? Not only that, but a brilliant game getting an even more wonderful update. The Indoor Amusement park add-on (which your update was facilitating the installation of) is crazy good. Damn, that's some first world angst.
  13. Well I'm using HDMi which, I suppose, was a year or so after this thread was made
  14. But those are small modifications on an otherwise identical game. And hasn't Animal Crossing always had real time seasons?
  15. It's just the DS game again (with barely even any graphical improvements). As long as Nintendo continue to take the p*ss like this, I'm not buying. They're doing their console no favours at all.
  16. Cool. Thanks . Does the Pro also have audio out or does the mulitchannel sound have to go through HDMi?
  17. It isn't good, no. Still, it's a pretty pointless function. The Wii's only really any good for playing games.
  18. I'd like to know too, for whatever that's worth Had a play with a hacked PSP a few weeks back. Pretty impressive though I'm really liking the was Sony have really worked on the PSP-PS3 symbiosis. Wouldn't really want to lose that.
  19. Oh, just current sales. 360 still has quite a lead over PS3 in UK. It is closing but not at the same rate as the rest of Europe. That's what I've read from various reports around the web, though current figures aren't posted.
  20. I kind of agree, but I'm not as optimistic about the timescale. I reckon M$ will make their move in 2010, possibly even late 2009.
  21. Wii is #1 here in the states I think they make them in Japan
  22. That's news to me. Do you have a source/link to substantiate PS3 has been outselling 360 in the UK? Oh, haha. Just checked that up. PS3 was ahead, then GTA4 came out and 360 pulled ahead. They seem about neck and neck at the moment.
  23. I love the keyboard on it (especially when it comes to entering your initials on the hi-score) and the cartridges are cool as hell. Love those little handles.
  24. The SMS was certainly impressive. I remember being totally blown away by Outrun and Space Harrier. While it was eclipsed by the NES in the states, it did really well here (UK) blowing away Nintendo's sales (as did the Megadrive to the SNES).
  25. Well, while it's true that in UK, 360 did pick up a big early lead, it seems that sales of PS3 have been accelerating rapidly since the start of 2008 while 360 sales are regularly behind.
