  1. From a consumer perspective, it still seems to be a solution in search of a problem. No real news from CES, maybe they have something up their sleeve for E3. But I'm not going to hold my breath.
  2. Does extra RAM get you anything at this point aside from those handful of Neo Geo titles?
  3. Yeah, that's probably one of the biggest annoyances I see. Needing to add a bunch of values to the end of an image name on a per-game basis to get it to work properly? Nope.
  4. https://www.breadbox64.com/blog/the-mechboard64/ I think he's taking a break from making more at the moment. I have one, but it's not quite the slam dunk you would hope for, given the cost. It required adding keycap adapters to fit the original keycaps to the Cherry MX switches - a frustrating process, which (at least in my case) leaves the keys looking and feeling a bit uneven/unstable. My F7 key kept popping off until I trimmed down the adapter a bit. And if I ever want to change out the keycaps, I'll need to obtain a new set of adapters. That said, it is very nice to type on.
  5. Here's what you want: https://www.pyrofersprojects.com/blog/product/c128-video-mux/ Handles both 40 and 80 column modes. They're currently sold out, but more are being assembled. I have one and it works great - I go from the Video Mux SCART out -> BNC -> PVM - however, the S-Video out looks really good as well.
  6. Yeah, while the full size item looks to be a decent improvement over the mini, I'll probably wait until they're being blown out at a third of the current cost.
  7. Eh. It was marginally more powerful than the 360, and the difficulty in developing for it compared to the 360 pretty much negated any advantage it possessed, unless you had a truly crackerjack team developing specifically for the hardware (e.g. Naughty Dog). Even then it wasn't leaps and bounds beyond the competition.
  8. Started collecting 2600/5200/7800 carts and hardware around 2002-2003. Branched out into Commodore 64/128 territory, as well as Atari 8-Bit hardware. It subsided for a while after getting married and having a couple of kids. I still collected, but it was pretty low-key. Collecting physical games fell by the wayside, as multi-carts are far more convenient. Around 2013-14 I started modding OG Xboxes with a bajillion emulators/roms. In 2015 I picked up Retrogamer's Amiga bookazine, and we were off to the races again. Got deep into the whole Amiga thing - which unfortunately also led me into CRT territory. I currently have about a dozen lying around the house, which is frankly, dumb. With the advent of nice FPGA devices like the Analogue products, the Ultimate 64, and MiST/MiSTer - and filters that are decent at reproducing scanline effects - I can see myself getting rid of a lot of the old stuff before too long.
  9. I'm enjoying it (The Outer Worlds) so far. It most resembles Fallout 3/4/NV, with a dash of Mass Effect and Bioshock (among other games), which are some of my favorite franchises of the past 10+ years. So it's scratching me where I itch. It's a bit more focused and compact compared to Fallout, though I'm still on the first planet - I'm not sure if it opens up more as you progress.
  10. Atari 2600 Warlords - 90 minutes Maze Craze - 20 minutes Space Invaders - 20 minutes
  11. Xbox One Costume Quest 2 - 140 minutes 3DS Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story - 60 minutes
  12. I like Analogue's products, I like the MiST and MiSTer projects. But I'm not sure why the MiSTer folks are getting bent out of shape over some of that work potentially being ported over to the Pocket. It's a defining characteristic of OSS. If you release code to the public and say anyone can use it (within the terms of the license), you can't really get upset when others do just that.
  13. So I sold my Nt Mini on eBay last week, however, I neglected to send the power supply. Can anyone share what the required PS rating is, so I can make sure I send the buyer the correct power supply?
  14. Xbox One Control - 180 minutes 3DS Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story - 120 minutes
  15. I got my first 64 in late 83; I think I went through three of them in the span of as many months before I got a stable one. That one lasted for a decade despite daily heavy use. Its replacement is still going strong - though I have modded it pretty heavily in recent years to eliminate the more vulnerable components.
  16. Week of September 30: Xbox One X Destiny 2: 120 minutes Dead Cells: 45 minutes PC Destiny 2: 80 minutes Switch Crypt of the NecroDancer: 90 minutes
  17. Week of September 23: Xbox One Control: 180 minutes Bloodstained Ritual of the Night: 30 minutes Xbox Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy: 60 minutes Switch Inferno 2: 30 minutes Star Wars Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast: 30 minutes
  18. Same here - there are several ways to play 2600 games without needing individual carts. Far fewer options for the 7800.
  19. Well, whatever it is, I'm certainly interested. Sold my Cuttle Cart several years ago, assuming there would be a better solution available eventually. Big mistake 😕
  20. I get 37902 free on my Atari 800 as well... Is that how it should be? Any need to reflash the Ultimate Cart?
  21. Good news about the Intellivision core. If someone could just get cracking on a 7800 core, I could chuck the NT Mini...
