  1. Word Zapper - it was $5 in the bargain bin at Revco post-crash. I spent about $4 too much for it.
  2. My GF has expressed interest in playing Toejam and Earl... any interest in classic gaming on her part is a good thing, something I should encourage and nurture I thought I'd check around here first befire hitting up ePay.... I need both a Genesis as well as TJ&E (and the sequel, if possible) I can offer cash, or I have many 2600 and 5200 titles to trade (several 5200 titles are boxed, some still in shrinkwrap), plus a couple of heavy sixers.
  3. Some of my favorites (be forewarned, it's Epyx-heavy): Jumpman/Jumpman Jr. Impossible Mission Summer Games/Summer Games II/Winter Games Temple of Apshai Trilogy Super Cycle Paperboy Rambo Part II Neuromancer Wasteland Ultima V Test Drive II Questron II Mindshadow Great Giana Sisters Lazy Jones H.E.R.O. Toy Bizarre Master of Lamps Pitfall II Hacker/Hacker II Hardball Law of the West Gamestar Championship Baseball GBA Two-on-two basketball Dr. J and Larry Bird go One on One M.U.L.E. Airborne Ranger Blue Max The Last Ninja II Cliff Hanger Crystal Castles Spindizzy Action Biker BMX Racer BMX Simulator 2
  4. I'm really surprised to see Crystal Castles mentioned... it's one of the *worst* arcade translations, IMO. I guess I was spoiled by the Thundervision port on the Commodore 64, which *was* quite arcade-accurate.
  5. The concept of a piece of hardware having a "soul" or not is just silly. To suggest that MS somehow has impure intentions compared to Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Atari, etc. is equally ridiculous. All consoles have existed for one reason - to generate revenue. Microsoft is no different than any other player in the videogame, uh, game.
  6. I've managed to collect a number of different input devices for my 2600/7800/Commodore 64s, but I'm worried about wearing out the joystick connectors by swapping them constantly. What is a good source for 9-pin extension cables? I did a quick check of Best Electronics, but didn't see what I was looking for... any advice? Thanks
  7. Of course, I figure it out immediately after posting...
  8. This has nothing to do with Zelda, but what is your avatar from? It's so familiar, yet I can't quite place it.
  9. Yes there was. If you go to http://www.schells.com/cc2utils/cc2files.shtml and download the SC startup file and ROM and it will probably fix your problem. I thought I had grabbed all the latest updates to put on the CD. Clearly I was wrong. Sorry, Chad That did the trick - thanks!
  10. Quoted for truth. Oh, so they are fake reviews that are supposed to be bad on purpose. Now I get it. It's THE ONION. Did you expect something different?
  11. Just got mine yesterday, and it works great... except I'm having the same problem with Supercharger games that sdamon mentioned last year - they all give me an orange/pink screen. I've made sure they're set to SC bankswitching, and named with two zeros on the end, but no luck. Was there ever a fix found for this?
  12. Unfortunately I disassembled my 2600 in the late 80s/early 90s... the pieces are scattered amongst landfills across Tennesee, I'm sure It was a Sunnyvale Heavy Sixer, too :/
  13. Did I read correctly that you would be offering an installation service as well? Is this currently available, or if not, when you expect it to be offered?
  14. Is it too late to vote? 1. Space Invaders 2. Pitfall 2 3. Star Raiders 4. The Empire Strikes Back 5. Defender 6. Super Breakout 7. Missle Command 8. Raiders of the Lost Ark 9. Centipede 10. Atlantis
  15. lol... looks like I posted a couple of hours too early Thanks for the update
  16. Any news on the next batch? It's been a month since the last update on Curt's site. I'm trying to be patient, but it's not easy
  17. I have the same problem with my trackball (the left fire button doesn't work particularly well).... I've tried cleaning it, to no avail. I've considered ordering a replacement board from Best, but they suggested that I "buzz out" the cord first - I know someone at work that could show me how to do that, just haven't had the time yet.
  18. Just trying to drum up some interest... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5755519238&rd=1 All the accessories (all the stuff Apple makes you pay for separately now...) + padded case and armband + upgraded battery.
  19. The voice ruined the game? It was a defining characteristic! Though the Midway Arcade Classics version was way too fast
  20. Where does one buy the cable to combine the chroma/luma signals to s-video? I've looked around a bit and haven't had much luck.
  21. The one issue I've seen had a really nice article on Atari home computers...
  22. Whatever's cheap - I'm going for quantity at the moment Also, I tend to gravitate more towards Atari carts as opposed to any of the other manufacturers.
