  1. I just noticed this requires a power adapter. Is that just for transferring, just for playing, or both?
  2. Aside from "Code Veronica", the Dreamcast Resident Evil games literally are the Psone games. Though they do look a bit better due to the higher res of the DC.
  3. What the hey - my personal top 10: Atari 2600 Commodore 64 (yeah, it's not a console. It's my list ) NES Playstation SNES Playstation 2 Genesis Dreamcast Xbox N64
  4. Atari 2600 and Commodore 64. We didn't have an NES in our house until 89, so I don't associate Nintendo with that decade... besides, by that time I was into cars, girls, and guitars
  5. Well, as I'm a n00b with the whole vintage gaming thing, I've cleaned the consoles I've obtained so far with Armor All. I probably wouldn't do it again though - it's been months, and my hands still feel "gummy" whenever I handle the consoles. Even if it's not damaging, it's annoying enough for me not to do it again.
  6. Ha! I have two or three of these (I remember Asteroids and Cenipede - were there others?) somewhere at my mom's house... they're all scratched off though.

    Heavy Sixer..

Serious? Are these joysticks that rare? I asked about Atari joysticks in a post a while back and from the responses it didn't seem like there was that much special about the early ones beyond the difference in feel. It's not the sticks as much as it's the hex discs, IIRC.
  8. Would that really matter one way or the other? Wouldn't RF interference be a non-issue with a composite video connection?
  9. I desperately wanted a 5200 for Christmas in 82, but like most parents, my folks didn't see the need for a new console and new games when we had a perfectly acceptable 2600. Nor did I know of anyone else who had one. Most of my friends (as well as I) went from the 2600 to the Commodore 64 or an NES.
  10. Most of the games on the C64DTV are by the (now-defunct) Epyx Software - and their biggest franchise was the Games series. So it only stands to reason that there would be lots of them on the stick I'm just curious as to why they didn't include World Games and California Games in their entirety.
  11. Can't agree with this. The current C64 DTV selection is composed out of Epyx and Hewson titles, both excellent companies which IHMO have a much better C64 back-catalogue than EA. There's a lot of other companies on par with or better than EA, regarding their C64 output only: Palace, Thalamus, System 3, Cinemaware, Microprose, Rainbow Arts, Lucasarts, Firebird, Ocean. Oh, I agree with what you're saying, but a lot of the games that the casual C64 fan remembers (especially in the states) were EA properties... MULE, Archon, Mail Order Monsters, Skate or Die, Seven Cities of Gold, etc. And they're not the only publisher that's still active and not about to let their properties go to some small-time hardware manufacturer... Lucasarts, Activision, etc. My point was, most of the classic games aren't going to show up on a C64DTV2 (or anything similar), unless they're done by the individual publishers. For this first one, they got lucky because Epyx (is Hewson still in existence) has been dead for years.
  12. Same with "Flying Disc" and some other game taken from California Games. Unfortunately, with the C64, many of the best games are IPs of EA, and we all know how reasonable they are.
  13. Hmm... I returned my Ms. Pac-Man stick the day after I bought it because it was shoddy all the way around. I picked up the Namco Museum for the Xbox and thought it was far superior. Not perfect by any means, but certainly "felt" better than the Jakks stick games.
  14. I'm not surprised these are selling well - my sister-in-law asked for the Jakks Atari joystick, and she loves it. She doesn't realize the games aren't entirely accurate, though it's very apparent to me. I imagine she'd like the Flashback as well, especially since it has more games and (IIRC) more accurate reproductions of the games than the Jakks stick.
  15. I still have the Commodore 64 I got for Christmas in 1983. Though I've had to replace both the motherboard and the keyboard, so really the only original part left is the case. I disassembled the 2600 I got in '81 many years ago Would've been nice to still have that around.
  16. Or you could just enable the built in auto-off feature. Just pass out, and let it turn itself off. Yeah, but it takes six hours (IIRC), and I don't know about anyone else, but my Xbox is LOUD. I'd really like a remote on/off switch for my PS2 with HDAdvance - I could play my entire library without having to get up. THen again, I can probably use the exercise
  17. Now if they would just let us turn off the consoles with the controllers...
  18. They have oldconsoles at the Salvation Army? Sweet... I'll have to swing by there next time I'm at work.
  19. Same thing would happen if you attempted to play it through a Tivo...
  20. Wow... that's just nutty Though if I were to buy a 400, I think I'd want the original keyboard. Still, an interesting find.
  21. Dude - you're the one that came in here all full of bluster about all these RARE HARD TO FIND GAMEZ!!! that you had, then you get pissed that people called you on it? If you have some truly rare ones, great - but maybe you should've lurked a little bit to get a feel for how this board operates, and then posted with a little less of that "God's Gift to Collectors" attitude that has colored your first handful of posts.
  22. If you have an HD set, definitely the Xbox version - vector games in 1080i is very very nice.
  23. The funny thing is, the show only ran through 1983, and the deadline for the contest was September 20, 1982. So it's entirely possible that the 1983 season had already been shot by the time the contest ended, and the contest winner never was able to claim their prize.
