  1. Atari released the 7800 here (canada) as I have several including one boxed.

The 5200 is a different story. It was only available by an importer company who just purchased units from the united states.

Atari of Canada simply did not bother to release it here.

  2. I appreciate you letting me know of your auction, that is definitely a unique type of information in as such as it was yours.

Although it appears it disappeared before I even had a chance to take a look at it.

    Thanks anyway

(and it was such the perfect one too... :()

  3. As previously mentioned...

My favourite is also when customers use the "But the customer is always right!" line as if it were a law passed by parliament.

I had to deal with a fewbad customers in my electronics retail experience, but thankfully never heard anyone use that to me. Although, whenever there was a problem, I'd just have my no-customer-nonsense manager come up and show them the door :)

  4. I'm in need of a small working record player with a built in speaker.

As long as it plays 33s and 45s with that built in speaker, thats all I need.

Fisher Price, Vanity Fair, Singer, it doesn't matter! It's likely gonna have a handle, and I want it!

Let me know your price, I have a nice collection of vinyl here waiting to be played but I can't accommodate a full sized player in my apartment. These things are usually pretty cheap and I'd like to pick one up from someone here than just pick one from ebay.

    PM me with details :)

  5. You guys are terrible.

Stop whining that they aren't selling you the owners personal property.

It's his store, his stuff, and he can play it and display it however he wants.

And insulting the fact they want to have a small museum? What, do you honestly want to see all this stuff just hidden away in some dark basement?

I think they're doing people a service by allowing people to enjoy original hardware where most people would have no interest in hunting out for equipment of their own.

NOT EVERYTHING IS FOR SALE, NO MATTER WHERE IT IS.

  6. Things might not be all that different keeping in mind that Apple went intel.

Its pretty certain that Atari would have jumped over to the Power PC just like Amiga and Apple did, so how could they have been so satisfied with the G5?

It's not like you'd be able to run your ST software natively, you can't run Apple software from 84 natively, can you?

    Thats my guess.
