  1. its nice to see that people are finally realising that we as a society make a LOT of EVERYTHING. Thus, prices in some respects begin to even out as they should to the realistic quantities that exist out in the market. I couldn't answer your question as I don't collect too many things that I ebay for but I wouldn't bet that back in the "beanie baby" days Ebay helped kill the craze.
  2. copyright infringment, not theft, not piracy. It's a different crime with different punishments.
  3. The more I play it the more I'm enjoying it. I am very very impressed. The fact that its all been squeezed into 1k just astounds me more so. I'm eager to continue watching the progression of this game. I find that carefully timed sweeps still make the game relatively easy. I can see being able to find the rhythm and making the game rather easy. Although I know this is still being worked on... I'm not so sure I like the overused space bird/bug thing thats being seen here, it reminds me too much of games like Galaxian, Phoenix, Demon Attack, etc. Although I admit that its hard to think of what it could be instead that isn't so overtly cliche taking into account that these creatures do attack in swarms. Of course, much of sci-fi has some sort of small hyper manoeuvrable craft (TIE fighters for example) I love the colour change in regards to their damage though, great idea. Another question is in regards to the "rails". I wonder if its possible to have them rotate in shades (not colours) as they come down. I think if subtle enough this would add more to the effect that you're moving forward as the enemies do so towards you.
  4. Yes, I am definitely enjoying this. And I very much like that you've taken a gyruss approach to sound. Points for that. The game is enjoyable, much so. No chance for even a two frame enemy animation?
  5. Has anyone even ever opened one of these up? I would but I don't have mine near me
  6. a 486 in a full tower that thing was HEAVY and HUGE and WORTHLESS
  7. No idea on the portfolio but I have managed to get it to work on my 200LX hp palmtop with custom built serial cable and CF w/pcmcia adapter card.
  8. I think its the meatier that I don't like. It's like the 1450XL or whatever number it was, that thing is absurdly massive
  9. if you go by inflation games costing a quarter should cost only 50 cents today. Inflation has nothing to do with dollar machines (and two dollar machines in canada!), thats pure greed my friend.
  10. "Help, just got a PSP. Some advice, please." Suicide is always an option you poor lost soul. /kiddng //seriously //suicideisneverasimplesolutiontoasimpleproblem
  11. pfft, babies "oh its too big, wah wah wah" Why don't you write to mcdonalds and complain their drinks are too big.
  12. The Atari 800XL and Commodore 64 computers are both attractive little devices. Actually, I like the 600XL more than the 800. I don't like that little bit that sticks out. I do enjoy the original Mac, but once that shape started to change, so does my appreciation for it.
  13. I totally did a topic search and found nothing....

  15. I have 20-30 year old 5.25" floppies and >98% of them work just fine. I have 7-10 year old 3.5" floppies and <5% of them work just fine.
  16. First Toby Maguire (Lynx), now Jack Black, who is next?
  17. I would be happer with a disc image, cartridges are nice, but I find that I play more disc games on sio2pc and what not than anything else. as long as it works on an 800 I'm fine.
  18. To me boxes for games are like cover sheets for hardcover books. Especially since many Atari games already have their boxes artwork on the cartridge. I have found very few boxes in my cartridge hunts (<10!) out of the hundreds of cartridges I have found in the past 7 or so years of 2600 collection. While a box is nice, It doesn't suit me. It doesn't "protect" the cartridge much since cartridges are already rather durable, and they make each cartridge have a larger physical footprint in a hobby where space becomes a premium fast.
  19. Looks great, can't wait for the 8bit version
  20. Thus, I am still on the look out for this game.
