  1. Yes luckyduck I have Altirra associated with all exclusive Atari file types (ATR/ATX/XEX) under OSX - so I can run games from their files in finder... I just double click an ATR and Altirra boots with that program executing. sTeVE
  2. This is awesome - thanks so much for getting this working! I now have three emulators working under OSX sTeVE
  3. Wow - you're curt, nice attitude towards discussion I'll be quiet now I've been told off by a moderator... sTeVE
  4. As I said Mr Robot - "Also it is perfectly possible to have the native Atari800 emulator working under Mojave with sound - so bottled Altirra is not the only option." So being stuck behind Wine's issues is not a deal breaker for MacOS Atari emulation needs.... sTeVE
  5. Absolutely - given the catastrophic delay in the last version of Crossover (whilst I have paid I rather detest) I do not have my hopes up of a rapid solution for Wine in general on OSX when we go 100% 64bit. But I suspect that cliff edge is a fair way off, there is no 100% solid indication of a hard deadline, yet. Ripdubski - my intention was not to rubbish your work, but rather to point out that those of us that do use emulation on OSX have options, which work in a more integrated way in finder at the cost of some extra effort. Also it is perfectly possible to have the native Atari800 emulator working under Mojave with sound - so bottled Altirra is not the only option. And recompiling Atari800 for 64bit might be a much more rapid solution that waiting for Wine :-) sTeVE
  6. Using the methods you are for bottling Altirra you cannot associate files with the application - so you cannot just double click an ATR or XEX and it boots the emulator and runs. I may be swimming against the tide, but if you use PlayOn - https://www.playonmac.com/en/- you can associate files with Altirra in MacOS which makes it work like a native App which I find very useful. Added to which the the handling of full screen and file requesters is subjectively better IMHO. Setting up Altirra in PlayOn is super simple (and it supports a huge array of other Windows software)... sTeVE
  7. Not many, but... The Konami SCC carts made me buy an MSX (Particularly F-1 Spirit: The Way To Formula-1) Wave Race made me buy an N64 Lugi's Mansion forced my hand on the Game Cube Breath of the Wild pushed me into Switch ownership sTeVE
  8. As someone who has taught degree level students (BSc, MA, BA, MSc) - in game design, and also integrated classic systems as part of the wider historical context of gaming and games development, what I have found valuable is not a description of chips and the like, but rather the experiences they facilitated in context. I presented games and the devices that enabled them - so for the 800 I had students play M.U.L.E - as a four player experience and in context of Dani Bunten's legacy. I had students dissect the ludological values of Alley Cat and Necromancer (I featured Bill Williams as a pioneering creative). I also brought forward the work of Brenda Laurel and the Atari labs team in the pursuit of extending the potential of games (Computers as Theatre is a wonderful book)... Obviously I utilized many other platforms and games from PONG to the Playstation for other areas of exploration of cultural context and impact of games... sTeVE
  9. Wow - that is utterly fabulous! Congratulations to everyone involved, superb work. sTeVE
  10. I've listed a load more items, mostly cartridges, some boxed, a few loose - some less common items in there - especially if you are UK based... sTeVE
  11. Hi, I've added twenty three carts and discs to my auctions on ebay in the UK - link sTeVE

  13. Both in Antic 4 and also Antic 5 - very little benefit from the lower rez char mode tbh. I cannot remember if both the static and slow scroll far field parallax versions were shared. Although terribly biased I always felt the the Menace material was awesome, done back in the day, on stock 64K hardware - I wish we had found a way to finish it :-( sTeVE
  14. As someone selling a LOT of Atari software and hardware on eBay now and over the next few months I have two needs of the sales. To recover as much of the price I paid for the items... To realise a small profit where possible for those items I have really taken care to preserve or build up and maintain So fair prices, but reflective of the effort to accrue the items. Some items I have cost a lot, so I am going to market with items priced to reflect my spending. sTeVE
  15. Holy Crap that is utterly immense for a Plus 4! Now that sets the bar - a slow 6502 machine with no hardware sprites can do that is totally inspiring! sTeVE
  16. Just added a few XEGS carts (some sealed) and a couple of AI games... sTeVE

  18. Two years ago - wow... Well I guess since the last stable release before 4.0.0 was in 2014 and I've not been using test builds that explains it! sTeVE
  19. So I have installed the x86 64 bit SDL version and it works. Does 3.0.0 have an issue with that CL parameter, I download from the official link every time... Needless to say thank you for your reply as I am now a happy emulatorist again! sTeVE
  20. hmmmmm - that's odd, -nojoystick in the command line hangs Atari800 when I try using it in my Launchbox install as a command line parameter... I am not using 4.0.0 - should I? sTeVE
  21. Looking for a little help with the Windows version of Atari800 (not Atari800Win Plus) - over on the emulation board - joypad options... sTeVE
  22. Does anyone know a way, from the command line, that I can disable the built in joystick setup in this emulator? By default the emulator seems to work with any connected USB (or in my case bluetooth Xbox One Pad) - but the button layout is horrific, it assigns all buttons to fire!!! So I would like to use Xpadder to control the emulator and script my own buttons to hotkeys to control it better. But because the joypad is always being used I cannot do that. In the Windows version I can find no command line switch to turn off the pad - there is a "-nojoystick" in theSDL version :-( Anyone got any ideas? sTeVE
